I was going to use your video to get a quick idea of how much of a pain it will be to switch this out but the music in your video is unbearable so i'll try a different video.
I have this setup made by Simota. Not sure whether I should install it. To be honest, the turbo fluttering sound is annoying as it is; plus the whole Beefer engine is just placebo in my opinion!
i live in Canada and i have a cold air intake... came with a protective shield so iunno what everyone is saying with a clogging up and rain and all that, works just fine for me
I wish i didn't live in canada. You can't have cold air intakes on your all season car. Or else they get shit in them, water, and ice build up that clogs it so much you won't even be able to turn over your fucking engine :(
hey dude i got a cold air from ECS, it came with an aftermarket breather, i dont know what to do with the crank case breather now its just dangling there, any help?
i also have this same set up and live in PA. the rain has not given me a negative effect. like JAkE92318 said. avoid large puddles and you're fine. even then the water would propel behind your vehicle. unless the water is above your front valence. but if you drive in those conditions. you're a fooool.
I hate it when people make videos of sounds of their exhaust or intake or whatever, but leave the damn windows down, how the hell we supposed to hear it if the wind overpowers the sound? Nice install, but next time, leave the windows up.
how come in one of the pics, u had the bumper removed? I dont know if its any different for jettas, but for my vr6 golf, i didnt have to remove the bumper.. exact same system btw, AEM CAI
@GraveDiggerIII It was a choice. We didn't have to do it, but it was just for a clean install. It was cool to see down there anyway and it made for a nice pic haha
@sexteddy Actually as long as you don't drive through a huge flood puddle, then it is well-protected by the wheel wells and front lower valence. Been runnin' it for a year and a half like that in Northwest Indiana.

@sexteddy it doesnt effect anything when it rains i live over in oregon and it rains a shit load. even driving on the freeway while its pouring and behind another car it doesnt do anything. now if you floor it while your going through a big puddle then yes of coarse it will shut your engine off wit the sensor but it look sounds and feels amazing
idk cause when it rains the intake is ganna suck all the water to ur engine if its that low

Worth the few hundred bucks? Sound any better than stock? Am considering a p flo but that looks way cleaner
noitsacardigan 1 year ago
@noitsacardigan Yeah it's definitely worth it. It sounds much better, and the car feels a little beefier.

Actually there is a stock splash guard on the underside of the bumper that should protect it from about anything but a foot deep puddle or a flood.
