  • for verizone its going to be a pain in the ass, theyre not very experienced with sim cards and GSM-like technology, so yea, screw them if they fuck up in the future. I got verizon at the moment but wimax seems much easier, but i dont know whats going to happen sprint.

  • @Robindahoodz I'm looking at going to AT&T because of their roll over minutes, disability services, but most importantly, GSM.

  • Will LTE Phones have Sim-Cards?!

  • @MriBackup They will. :) LTE is an evolution of GSM. However, I was recently told, that it wouldn't be ready nationally for at least five years.

  • @rml695 five years :(

  • @MriBackup I know it. :(

  • LTE is connection method like wimax. Verizon will still use cdma and att wills till use gsm regardless of whether or not they adopt lte... It's the replacement of evdo...

  • Is there any chance Verizon will build the SIM card into their phones somehow to lockdown the customers? Don't get me wrong, I have Verizon and I'm extremely happy with them, but I just don't think that they'd completely convert to that.

  • @codymws AT&T & T-Mobile, current GSM providers that use SIM cards, already lock their phones down. You have to get an unlock code from the provider, and usually that's only provided after you've gone through at least one full contract cycle, and for a fee.

  • @codymws I forgot to mention that I think Verizon will follow AT&T's path in regard to SIM cards. They already do with the world phone,s in other words, the american GSM bands are software locked; you can't use a Verizon world phone on AT&T.

  • LTE is actually the 4G of GSM technology. LTE is the next version of UMTS, which is the 3G GSM technology.

Verizon is actually dumping WiMAX for LTE. They want to be able to compete with AT&T head to head and have access to the same phones. LTE will be the global 4G standard and thus that's what most phones will *only* be built for.

WiMAX was looking like the 4G for CDMA carriers. MetroPCS is another CDMA carrier going to LTE. Sprint looks like the only carrier clinging to WiMAX.

  • this video is pointless

  • 1.iPhone LTE

    2.Flash Lite

    3.Camera flash

    4.Full Multi-tasking (more RAM)

  • also LTE is not compatible with gsm / cmda. Its a new technology and you cannot update a CDMA phone to work with LTE, its not a software but a hardware update. To use the LTE bands. They have not said if they are going to make it backward compatible with GSM twoers, but you would still need a new antenna to use LTE.

  • Part of me wasn't thinking it would be. However, I think by the time LTE is fully in place, it'll be time to upgrade again anyway. Also we'll all be using SIM cards by then so perhaps we'll get a much greater choice of phones if, by then, lock down ceases to exist.

  • it is gonna be compatible with gsm, that is why it is call long term envolution, bacuase is evolution to 4g. this is just and stpet to jump to 4G

  • well also i hate to bring bad news (i seem to always do this on ur videos lol), but not all companies are going to switch to LTE. VZW and ATT, Tmobile are def.. going to support LTE. SPrint Alltel (eventhough owned by verizon) and all other prepaid carriers are not sure if they are going to switch (as well as south america. ) Europe and Asia have said they will make it hte only standard so... who nkows!?

  • I've heard Sprint sucks, so I have no plans to deal with them. That's why I'm looking at the Web OS device for AT&T (at the moment I don't remember it's name), and also Android devices for AT&T (HTC Lancaster) and Verizon (Motorola...C...something LOL) as well as the HTC Hero unlocked.

  • LTE is going to be well-worth it. I will be looking forward to getting a phone and using it on any provider I choose.

Apple being the most closed seems very bipolar in the software/corporate world, sounds very stupid. Get some counseling APPLE!!

  • Apple will always be compatible with APPLE. Apple is proprietary, and one of the most closed-platform companies in the U.S.

  • nice vid :)
