Early U2 is my generation & the older you get, the more you realize most music is a rip-off of only a few unique & original Artists.

There's only a few moments of genius in any field, spawned from those who have mastered the craft. And I feel this is a top youth anthem regardless. 8)

This is the funny voice thing (I love it too) but he cannot just rely on that to deliver a pitch perfect performance, the rest of his range has been comprimised by being out of a studio, and this song is about both sections, the high and the strong part and the beauty of the uptake in the chorus sounds terrible like a struggle to control the sound and make it what it should be. Sigh. At least the high bits sound good.
