cont.... also the staff is a bit more pumped up and less tired, trust me, if you only knew how some of the patrons behaved, you would understand why the staff gets a little grouchy. We have had things thrown at us by the crowd, been yelled at, and all we are trying to do out there is entertain. It is a two sided coin, so please consider both sides. They have a media night prior to opening so you may want to ask about that. Also celebs charge differently, Sid Haig took pics w/ us $0.

@Lanofaylin Hiya. I really appreciate the comment that's not mean spirited or ugly. I loved Atrox last year (and the video is up where I talk about how awesome it was). I think it was a mixture of things this year, but I didn't want to lie about my experience. The celeb thing was something I was prepared for. And no, I didn't see the entertainment outside (is that past the first gate?). Unfortunately the drive is over 3 hours, so we have to get in, get out, etc. :) TY for the comment!

@JASaare We were inside the gates in the back corner by the port o' johns...(yes a place of honor...lol) I really do hate that it didn't live up to your expectations (esp. after a 3 hour drive...ouch) Unless they contact us, I don't think we will do Atrox next year, just so we can do a little something different and the crowd won't grow tired of us. @Lanofaylin And I worked with the public for years. I do feel your pain. Some people are really nasty. I try not to be when I go to events or attractions (and I don't think I am). But I do know how easy it is to be on edge after you've been cussed out or treated like crap. :(

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your time at Atrox. Another reason for the cover charge at the gate is the outside entertainment they provide. I don't know if you were there long enough but from 8-11 our fire troupe was outside entertaining. What I have learned from Atrox if you really want the bang for your buck without the hassle come opening weekend. The crowds are usually very small, it's not so crowded in the building, and the wait isn't as long and there is no need to buy a vip pass.

Some celebrities do charge a lot of money, but the house has nothing to do with how much they charge. They can't let you take a picture for the five dollars to get in the gate because the money you pay for the pictures goes directly to the celebrity. A lot of the time, people will come only to see the celebrity and be too scared to go through, so the five dollars gets them at least that much money from those people. You just have to understand that the celebrities tend to overcharge.

@needachannelname This is why I don't attend horror conventions. All that aside, I wouldn't have had an issue if I'd enjoyed the haunt. A picture of Shawnee wasn't why I went (I just figured I'd add it if I could but if not no big). But you're right, celebrities do charge insane amounts of money for things. Fortunately there are tons of other places to visit. :)

Not to be the bearer of MORE bad news for Atrox.. Apparently The Leeds City Council and representatives of Children’s Charities of Alabama, the organization behind the ATROX Factory haunted house, came to an agreement on the payment of back taxes.Following an audit, it was discovered that Children’s Charities owed approximately $105,000 in sales tax, $18,300 in use taxes, in addition to payment for business licenses. Also, the city levied penalties against the organization for lack of payment.

And in all honesty, before I read this I had already made up my mind to NEVER again visit that attraction due to the overwhelmingly TACKY and RUDE response from all of the "workers" and "supporters" or whatever they are.. I guess that answers why the prices were so high for such a lack luster performance this year... Just sayin'..

And it's great IF they in fact are a "charity" type organization, but just because they claim to be one you are expected by these OH SO LOVELY people to post NOTHING but Praise about it is unrealistic.. @DLev45 A.) The $20 VIP pass comes from Atrox, not the Celebrity. You don't have to go to a "grandpa style haunted hayride" to receive a better experience. There are other (better) attractions. B.) I've stated this was impromptu. I don't fancy myself as anything. I'm laughing pretty hard over the raised hackles of the folks who don't get my point. The money and experience were not worth it this year. And I've been to "legit" haunted house operations. Know what they say about assumptions?

I don't know what you are talking about, but they DO have an ATM by the stores in the back, and you can even see the ATM light sing in your video (which by the way is horrible, you need to get a better camera if you wanna be a haunted house journalist)

Atrox is number 15 in the nation on Haunted World Magazine and keeps going up by the years, so i'm not sure if you are just mad because you had to wait, but that just means that is popular place and everybody love it! (the LA club syndrome)

@samlatino First -- read the description box. I clearly state I was mistaken and there IS an ATM (although with the lighting I didn't see it). You can go back in my history. I LOVED Atrox last year -- even with the wait. However, for $80 I expected far more than I got. That's the bare bones, plain and simple. For the drive, the price, and the 20-30 min tour it's not (in my opinion) worth the money. And stating my camera is horrible (when I say it as well) is repetitive. Just sayin'.

@AdoreYouInAshXI Thank you, I really appreciate that. I hated not enjoying Atrox. I mean, who would pay that kind of money and "not" want to have a good time? The truth is the effects and the attraction wasn't up to par this year. Even my husband (and friends who went) agreed. We all loved Arx Mortis and fully plan to go every year. The price is excellent (honestly $25 for two 30-45 minute attractions? How can you beat it?) and the effects are spot on. I think you'll love it! Let me know. :)

I DO however think that you come off as an every day person who was sorely disappointed in an unsatisfactory attraction that was heavily overpriced.. My husband and I went and for the dang $80.00 we paid to get in.. was a total waste of our time in line and money. The "star" that they had there.. that we had to pay a cover to get in JUST because she was there...WASTE of money! I agree completely with you on this one!

If the attraction was a bit longer, or as good as it was the year before, I wouldn't have minded so much. This time around it didn't have the same feel.

A person can tell by the tone of your videos you expect to be treated as someone special. The people in the long lines have the same rights as yourself. Yes it would be nice to be able to accomdate every wannabe reviewer, however when you learn to review and not simply complain you may recieve the credibility. NO your plan to call in advance next year will not work as you have too many enemies in the industry already.

I don't expect to be treated as someone special, I expect to be treated as a consumer who is paying my hard earned cash to enter an attraction. Oh, and FYI, I'm not the only person who visited Atrox who felt this way. I speak to people to visit haunted houses and their complaints were the same. I'll simply visit places I enjoy far more. This doesn't not include Atrox.

Please go back and look at your "reviews" again and i think you'll notice the only poss was when you were allowed your camera. And beginning your "review" with insulting your readers, the "redneck" comment on Disturbia, imediately cost your credibility.

@jbmgold As a reviewer, I might suggest (and I mean this sincerely) that if you want credibility of your own that you use spell check. It's apparent you don't watch my videos (a good thing I'm thinking, as my dry humor doesn't suit you) but I'm an equal opportunity pisser-offer. The videos were done for my subscribers when I asked in a prior video if they'd be interested in me doing a few. If I chose to do more in the future, the format will change -- just as my movie reviews have.

Sorry you had a bad time at Atrox. The prices for Shawnee(sp?) aren't bad...less than some other stars i've seen. Obviously, they should have let you all know ahead of time her pricing, however if they were charging extra to get i since she was there, they should have covered a pic with her. Just my opinion. Stupid o them on the cover charge if you leave to hit the bank. Poor management there. Oh...and the hair looks fab!
