Anyone that hates Janis Joplin is an idiot. She was not a bad person. She just had personal issues that she dealt with the wrong way(drugs & alcohol). She was an amazing singer. Her music transcends time. She's a legend.I'm extremely sad she is dead.I hope she's in a better place free from what made her troubled. Her "Me and Bobby McGee" is one my all times favorite songs.R.I.P Janis
To all of you who have trashed Janis Joplin you can say she was a drug addict, you can say you think she was ugly, you can say she can't sing, but you are the ones who got on here KNOWING it was a Janis Joplin video what does that say about YOUR intelligence. I would say it means you have very little if any, and you have no life if you have to watch a video of a singer you don't like, go out side and get a life..
I'll send you the Fair Use Notice in a PM since I cant seem to post it here. I used it for my Solomon Burke vid and it worked. Its worked a lot actually and it IS legal. If you have to do that......appeal form crap thing......paste it there. But I also used it in my video info. I hate those forms. I had a great channel and it was suspended and then the copyright crap took off. I try to help people with this if I can. Hope it helps. And thank you for sharin with the world. Peace♥
Well, a lot of my old favourites have been either deleted or are now unavalaible in my country. I don't know when this started but you can't really blame the Youtube staff. I don't know what pressure has been put on them or from who. I hope they fight the bastards and let the good times come back. Youtube has alwas helped win new fans for new bands, and helped us remember and honor the old stars. The Media Groups are just hurting themselves. Cheers
masterstaff, indeed ur correct!!! utube think they're screwing us but WMG might want to change it's practices of trying to opress our entertainment, something better is on the way...yes we will find a new toy, and we'll drop them like the hot mess they've become, they dont realize that what they're DOING will make them obselete. btw. thanks for the post... I'm totally a fan of yours. I used to listen to this jus about everyday.
mussman717word ! very good indeed! Janis one of the best !! LIVED HER LIFE HER WAY! AND YES TO THE FULLEST! taking shit from no one!! her and bobby mc gee is one of my best! lol peace out to the one with good taste.
Janis is probably one of if not my all time fave and this song is the best. I wish she had made it longer - I dont understand why half the world is cryin when the other half is cry'in too
Pathetic life why? Because she enjoyed it? Lived every minute of it to the fullest? Look at yourself, probably wasting your life away working 39 hours a week for minimum wage, sitting here on YouTube disrespecting legends who were so far above your level of intelligence, you can't even realize it. You are the one with a pathetic life, and I don't think anybody would disagree with me. Peace, fucker!
Actually, that's the human condition. They just get away with it, as we do with athletes, politicians, actors, etc. We coddle them, and allow it. Working stiffs just get fired.
The point of a talent like Janis' is her ability to put heart and soul into her music. American Idol is about absolutely nothing but the highest level of commercial appeal, and commercial appeal leaves little room for passion.
alcohol makes you look 20 yrs older. there will never be another Janis--its very sad that we lost her.the greats could see how the world really is--it's too bad to live in.
GREAT PHOTOS We all know this song is great (Kristofferson hit the bell with this- but Janis took it to another level)
True story- right before the closed the Fillmore East In NYC Janis was jammin & my cousin handed her a bottle of Southern Comfort- she took a swig and handed it back , the crowd was crazy
I wan't sure about Janis, the only tracks I had heard were terrible. Her voice was so coarse you could barely tell what she was saying in most parts and a lot of words were slurred. I'm guessing she may have been too far into the drugs in what i saw or she wasn't good live. Either way this is alot better.
r u kiding me? She has a diff style, she was expressing her deepest emotions, not everyone sings like this soft, girly pop stuff. Janis Joplin was one of the most talented singers America ever had!
For you information I don't listen to soft, girly pop. I dont doubt Janis was talented, all I said was I heard some really bad recordings that put me off, but after hearing this I do think she is really talented and in this video I enjoyed her vioce.
i wonder if bobby ever gets creeped out sleeping next to a corpse. well i guess love is the ultimate bond.......but im sure her jelly flesh is a pretty good adhesive too
Janis joplin is awsome, just shows anther good life taken by drugs. I wish i could have seen her in person. And phoneix no one gives a shit what you think ur just anther nobody and we need ur negative shit if dont like janis then go lisin to sumthin else
Name one singer. Or even a Movie star. That wasnt doing somthing back then. Good to listen to the classics. The music we listen today wouldnt exist if we diddnt have singers like this one.
Happy Birthday, Janis! You would be 66 today. We miss you... oh so much. Thank you for everything you did. You changed my life, as well as countless others. after five years as a semi-pro musician, i can say with a little authority one truth:
musicians are flakes.
they got problems with drugs, alcohol, the opposite sex, money, ability to hold a job, et cetera.
seems as if with creativity comes irresponsibility.
