  • Mike, I tried to send you a link on this comment box, but it does not seem to work. About Canadian CIBC trying to purchase shares in Allied Irish Banks. I was reading the artical only to find out that TD is an American based Bank...surprise surprise..lol.

  • I agree with you most of the time.I am a Bear by nature, but I need to make a few shekels so I moved my trading funds into MGM @ $8.80.They say we in Vegas are at 2004 revenue levels,MGM was $20.00 in 2004. We still have to makes moves brother. This economy sucks fundamentally, but shit still happens!

  • where tha HeLL are ya Fever....?

  • No news from fundamentalsiam this week ?

Bah i dont even know why i bother coming this way ._p

  • Hey Mike, nice report today. Hair looks good! Come and sit back and watch my clip of Martha's Vineyard on the beach. Watch the waves hit the beach for five mins.

  • Bout ye.The UK conists of England, Northern Ireland(My Favorite), Scotland and Wales, one of the countries above is on a whole other Island. Let me tell you there is lots of land. Not to mention the fact that while we where fighting the good fight while our allies took 2 years to get off their oversized behinds and do something(they waited til we had them on the run and then joined in and they have the nerve to say they won it)almost every home that could grow food in there gardens did.

  • You seem to be focused on divisions Marv. Divisions are great for controlling people and pitting them against each other. N.Ireland is in a precarious situation because nobody wants it and your rulers (the British political class) have no regard or respect for the people there. Your only hope in the short run is that the Assembly gains more power and works well, in the long run nobody knows if you will still be one of 4 countries, a seperate country or part of the rest of the island. Peace.

  • Hey divisions are bad thats what "they" want you see "they" keep creating more divisions for example race or where your from and and make you fight each other. The only real divisions are measured by wealth. However local goverment is almost always a good thing. I along with about 80% of my generation whom i have spoken to said that they are Northern Irish before calling themselves Irish or British. All of whom agree regardless of beliefthatbeing part of the UK is important so dont divide us now

  • I agree that local gov is a good thing, but British pol class don't care about NI and have shafted it over the years and broken the peoples' trust on all sides. They thought nothing about playing politics with innocent lives, draconian laws, censorship, spying, killing lawyers they didn't like etc. Also the whole UK is a police state these days, no thanks! Local people need to stand on their own two feet / work together in short run, only long run solution = end of partition.

  • OK just to let you know i am from NI and what you have just said well at least most of it is unture. Back down of the anti British proaganda thats what got the americans to fund the IRA who killed lawyers they didnt and many people. So did the other side but not the british. the british MPs had to clean up the mess that our old government made(they where NI MPs Not brits) and the whole Country are sick of it and just want peace. Which it appears we have now achived with the brits help.

  • What proof have you we are not wanted. Sounds like alot of old propaganda we just to hear.Sure the British political class have made a lot of mistakes but what goverment has not thats why having a local goverment is important but not as important as working together. After all what is history but a list of mankinds mistakes.

  • The proof is in the fact that neither the Unionist or Nationalist community have much trust of the British Government. The proof is in their spying operations, the proof is in them telling the public one thing and then doing the opposite behind their backs (negotiating with IRA, sponsoring Loyalist death squads etc etc). They would rid themselves of N.Ireland if they could. Also South doesn't want it. British govs "mistakes" are more than most! I wouldn't trust them for a second.

  • i dont no where you get your facts you sound just like the old generation the ones whom cause this mess. You are wrong i am sorry but its ture NI has changed alot. Unionists and Nationalists where the ones with the death squads not the british. And acutally now things are alot better. the UK does want us now so get with times we changed we are strong and we are also wanted so deal with it.

  • CONT - The only way to remove the doubt is British withdrawal and united Ireland OR nationalists accepting a 6 county state. If UK wants you how do you explain the empty Commons when there is a NI debate? Yes the IRA klled many innocent people, but the British Gov has blood on it's hands too all the while pretending to be honorable and impartial. I hope you don't expect me to applaud the UK gov for helping in finding a solution. It was the route cause of the problem and it made it worse too.

  • Oh and just to mention alot of the terrorism was fund by dumb uninformed Americans. Not only that but alot of people would agree that over all the Brits dealt with terrorists alot better than the Americans are. We are only becoming a police state because of the Americans. First they lose the war on drugs and now think that somehow they can win this one its sad. Mainly because i think america has alot of potenial to be better although granted IT WAS FOUNDED BY TERRORISTS. Ture story.

  • Most countries have violent pasts and it's natural that many are founded by terrorists or freedom fighters depending on what side of the fence you are on. I don't think it's fair to blame the US for Britain becoming a police state. I may be from an older generation than you, but I don't think you can blame a whole generation for a mess, I'm an individual. I am not disputing that NI has changed a lot, but it is still in an unbalanced state because of doubt over it's future political status.

  • I am sorry are we living in the same world what doubt. I am Northern Irish what makes you think it is still unbalanced. Cause suprise suprise its not once again America is running on old intel. Get with the times please. There is no doubt Northern Ireland is and will remain part of the UK with its own local government. People are happy now because each sides voice is heard and each side has a say Stormount is no longer closed.

  • As for Americans being dumb and uninformed, I think that's a bit unfair. Surely you don't expect Amerians to have as much knowledge as you about a small scale local problem! I think you would be better focusing on the dumb and uninformed people closer to home. There are many brainwashed and ignorant people in NI and it's so sad. You don't sound like one of them and you sound like a reasonable person, but I think you convenietly ignore some reality / want to brush some things under the carpet.

  • OK fair enough but if it was not for terrorist fund raising held at the white house alot more people would be alive today in my country today. So please stop handing killers guns if you dont know what is going on. Once again old info Northern Ireland has become a free thinking and peaceful country (mainly). Nothing shall be hidden everything shall be remembered less it ever happen again.

  • Some Americans people who helped fund the IRA were undoubtably dumb and uninformed, but I think you will find that with any organisation. Some were undoubtably very well informed too. Why is the US causing the UK to become a police state? Can you back up your arguments? Also, why do you keep saying the US was founded by terrorists? What is your definition of a terrorist? Do you mean anybody who doesn't accept the bullying of the crown?

  • So your calling the presidents of your country that held fund raisers at the white house dumb well thats something we can agree on my friend. OK if it where not for american government calming that the Uk was its largest sercuirty threat (hardly we have long been friends and aliies) then are goverment would have had to pass those anti terrorist laws that takle away rights. Which they never did with the more real threate the IRA because it makes things worse it should be BAU.

  • Can you haul 10 pieces of plywood and 2 8 meter walk boards, a 5 meter board, 2 12 meter extension ladders, 2 3 meter step ladders a , metal break, and 2 1.75meter step ladders and lots of lumber in your 30 mile per gallon vehicle? Want to show me one that can? Might want to consider that a full sized work truck isn't going to do anything with a little engine. Not all people are paper pushers and need a vehicle that by it's very nature won't be a petrol sipper. Think about things, peace.;)

PARIS: High oil prices are the result of geopolitical tensions, rather than a shortage of crude supplies, Opec ministers said yesterday.

"The high prices of late are due to the geopolitical situation. It has nothing to do with the fundamentals," Opec President Mohammed Al Hamili, who is also oil minister for the United Arab Emirates, said on the sidelines of an oil industry conference here.

  • I only have a Vauxhall Astra , when floor it i get 3-5 mpg . In 6th gear on motorway going slow i can get 38 ish

Put your foot down you can hear it sucking, its not the price of gas that worries me,i would think nothing of blowing 100 quid on juice in a weekend going nowhere in particular, fast .

However i realised that my wasting fuel forces up prices and people starve as a result so now i use a quarter of the gas i used to

We have obligations to each other to conserve where we can imho

  • Obtw rigging markets could back fire when the false news pushes oil prices back over $140 .

Then they will need to print twice as much .

They are playing a dangerous game .

Sure im making money on Gold ,oil and S+P , however what i see is disturbing .

PS Glad your Not Dead , i was 50/50 when i saw tonaphs post , at least you found it funny .

  • S+P , the $ ,oil ,all gained strength from the rigged unemployment figures . Gold dropped .

All on false news , released by a US government agency ,The US government is trying to rig the markets . Obama even made a positive comment about the lesser job losses .

I understand the US gov is desperate to recover some of the losses from US stocks ,however intentionly misleading the markets ?Surely this is criminal

  • To respond... no.

  • ROFL... uh tonapah141... I'm not dead yet! (great Monty Python skit springs to mind here :)

I should be dead, all the work i have been doing! Been super busy in the UK, and working remotely on the system we're doing.

I am flying back tomorrow - so hopefully a report on Sunday!

    Peace and Love

  • Mike...I see on the News that they are claiming that jobs are up in Canada and the US...be it, a very small amount, but I like to think of it as the calm before the storm come this Fall time. (Aug. 7th)

    Rob.

  • Check the marketwatch article titled "U.S. unemployment drops ... sort of"

'Even a cursory glance at the numbers tells you something's missing. That something, of course, being the number of people who gave up looking for work. Because that figure exceeded the number of jobs lost by nearly 200,000, the unemployment rate actually fell.'

    It's all a numbers game

    Peace

  • On the plus side, we are still one of the best off workers in the world.

And at least we arent being whipped by nazis or commies.

  • Mike...When i started to look for a place to see where to look about the whole financial side of things i found you and subscribed...Your a very good teacher..I know now where to look..Thanks.

  • Great video

  • You are one dumb fuck. Your country is falling apart around you and you sit there and point your finger at Canada? Go fuck yourself, fool. Your country's military-industrial complex has been fucking up this planet for decades. You're just too dumb and full of hubris to understand that. You're a typical, mouth-breathing, redneck, dumbass American. I'm surprised you even have the brains to turn on your computer and type 2 words. You haven't saved the western hemisphere, you've FUCKED IT UP!

  • Dude have you been drinking? The mans trying to wake your brain dead ass up to see whats going on around you. You need to wake the fuck so you see whats cum'n.

  • Mike. OK, let me get this correct. 2 woman reporters go to North Koria, end up be tagged for spying, then get life in jail, then....lol, X Presedent Billy (aka Super man) flies there and rescues them 1 month later. I'm sorry people, but for a psycho who appears (hence appears) to want be willing to start a war, lets them go free. This whole thing was stagged to make the US Gov't look like the good guys. Am I the only that sees that? I mean really, think about people.

  • Nexstar100, I would like to know what Billy said over there myself to get those ladies free... it's just ODD that's all it would take... what in the heck did he say?

  • If you feel people should know the truth then why do you have a problem with Mike's analysis? He speaks the truth, while Goldman Sachs speak lies. If you love your country, attack Goldman Sachs, not FeverIAm.

  • You're asking him that yet one of your favorites is Zeitgeist?

  • Know what's funny? In the early 90's while in highschool, in a college town, I worked for 3 yrs at Pizza Hut. All but one of the employees, were people who had finished college and couldn't find the job they'd been to school for. That other employee (besides me in highschool) was retired military.

  • great Vid Mike

  • The Honda Civic probably the car that gets the best gas mileage gets 36 miles to the gallon and that's on the highway.

No way your bmw got 35 miles per gallon.

No way your car even got even 22 gallons to the gallon combined highway and city driving.

  • Depends on the model. The 2000 328i gets 18 city 26 highway

  • 525 Diesel dude.

Google "Little Old Oilburner Me (BMW 525d SE Saloon)" for US MPG stats. It was a beautiful car to drive!

  • If they try and do mandatory vaccines then there will definatly be rioting!

  • Mike, are you still expecting riot-like events this year?

  • Next year. It's gonna hit with a bang. Just protesting for now.

  • Riots should start this year, starting in the south of the USA, and once it starts - CA/AZ inwards. Then "National Guard" (US Army really) will try to quell the disturbances.

There will be a call for sanity from the mid-west; but they too will fall (spring 2010?). The last will be the East Coast, around June 2010.

A populist figure will arise (religious?) who will have the answers (of sorts) and who will take the 'message' to the white house, and then get bought out. 'fun' :(

    Peace and Love

  • Your timeline makes sense. Do you believe Sweden would be a good place to escape to?

  • You can't run or hid, we'll get you wherever you are and bring you back and the hand of justice will bitch slap you like a red head step child.

  • Yeah right riot my ass, we're too busy eating McDonald's and drinking starbucks how the hell are we going to riot.

  • I wish I could say this is outside the realm of possibilities, as I have two kids who must make a living in the future we are even now building for them collectively.

But, I can defiinitely see a simmering desperation in the faces of my fellow NYer's. Perhaps it's just what years of subway travel does to you, but maybe not.

  • America has been asleep since the 1950's and has allowed its government to brainwash three generations of americans to think that socialism and big government is its salvation.

  • America is a Nation that feeds itself by consumption, what happens when the biggest portion of the consuming population, the baby boomers, start retiring?

  • 9.5% is pretty much a huge lie.

Seven southern states now have double-digit unemployment rates, an unusual concentration in a country with a (false reported ) national rate in June of 9.5 percent.

The US recession is just getting warmed up. The up tic we are seeing in any sector and to include Wall Street, is no more than a really cheap profolactic. It's likley going to burst by End of Aug - Beg of Sept

  • Ya,,, their real wild n crazy fuzzy math wizards here in the US...

  • LyndonLaRouche Declares War on the British Empire

This YouTube Video rather puts England in it's place.

I am just an observer however.

  • If by 'puts in its place' you mean attempts to spread division amongst allies for the benefit of her particular communist group then yes it does that

  • the more the united states government spends the more they are putting us into debt, this country is in big trubble and they want to spend , stop spending the money our hard earned money of your freaking wars

  • bulsht...that's Bush era statistics.

  • CAsh For Clunkers

The U.S. Auto Industry is almost Bankrupt and GM is Bankrupt. Why would the Government give cash for any car other than an American Car? Shouldn't this Taxpayer Money be used for American Car Manufacturers?

Did you know the Government mails you the Clunkers Cash, that's what I am hearing. So you have a car that's paid off and make a loan for thousands of dollars, does that make sense?; unless they made the loan to keep the Clunker Cash and not pay the Loan....

  • Because other countries are also not restricting the sellers nation. Almost every country has stimulation programs so at least the idea is not false.

But the whole program sucks as it moves the problems the Auto Industry has just into the future. We have too much productivity and some companies must fail. There is no way to prevent this.

  • Many parts of the US are experiencing record-breaking cool temperatures this summer. Global warming my left foot!

  • Mike, if you're anywhere near Reading, I'll mow your lawn. You travel a lot, so when you're in the states, mail me a box of twinkies and we'll call it even.

  • Thanks for posting the links/references.

  • Ive heard a few economist predicting a war thats gonna come. And their reasons are sound. So its got me thinking on how governments can offer up a new WW and have people happy to do it. How do you brainwash and control people? Well i see one pointless money destroying scheme after another. More debt borrowing, and jobless increasing. Seems to me the easiest way is to put people into such a desperate state theyll happily take your solution, & with hyperinflation to destroy a currency thatll work

  • Hey man... my Harley gets over 40mph and I'll bet it weighs more than any of those eurotrash over-engineered golf carts that you folks call "cars" over there. I say potato, you say potahhto, I say tin-can, you say car... let's call the whole thing off. :) Round here, we actually have some open country and have some ground to cover... not safe to drive a euro-put-put.

As for the rest... interesting as usual; and I thank you for taking the time to do this analysis and to upload the vids.

  • PowerliftingWSM

Burn baby burn!. Keeping dispensing of that nasty oil for us will you.. there's far to much of that black sticky stuff around for my taste. The only reason I inveted in it is because of you yanks using it all up. Use it all up.. please, make me rich!!.

  • "invested" even

  • Problem: energy efficiency; solution: more nuclear power plants and many more electric trains getting many of us around and almost all of our freight off the highways. Then we can still travel in style in our real automobiles... and without all the darn smelly diesel trucks in the way all the time (except for local distribution of course). And we would still be reducing oil consumption dramatically. Yea... I think that will work nicely. Better'n dying in some tin can of a euro-car.

  • Interesting theories you have. I for one have never died in a "euro tin can", not even once!. I did hear that some AmeriCANs once died in a a non-euro car though, so on that basis, massive oil guzzling aside, I think I'll skip buying a "yank tank".

    Drive safely.

  • Oil back to nearly $73 ,last time they blamed it on rogue traders ..

Maybe the same rogue traders that pimped stocks , fixed earnings and make bad news look like good ?

  • What do you make of the profits in some of the British banks? Legit reason to think we are out of the depression? Or just a pile of steaming cabbage!

  • LOL!

At least politicians in germany used their "cash for clunckers" plan to prop up GDP data BEFORE the election.

  • Mike, I'm starting to panic despite your order, not to panic. How about some cheery good news; lie if you have to.

I've noticed a hint of satirical wit in your commentaries. I certainly hope you are not ridiculing our esteemed leaders.

We are doing well in Canada because we have our equivalent of Gordon Brown by way of Stephen Harper. We all know Stevie will save us, just like Gordie will save the UK.

How about if they give the $6 billion package to anyone who will take it off their hands.

  • Great update! Thanks Mike.

re: the five banks closing Friday; didn't even see it on the news. The media doesn't seem to even cover these ongoing bank closings anymore. That would ruin their nice shiny message of "green shoots and everything's getting better." Have a good week:)

  • Not only do they lie , they prove it !,look at the markets . Everything is great on Wall St , the recovery is well under way .

  • Thanks for the video Mike.

Does Japan's government lie to them like the rest of ours do? I haven't really heard about that one way or another.

  • Japan's government lie to their people in a much less subtle, but no less sophisticated way than Western governments. They have very Keynesian economic policies - empty highways that lead to nowhere, people employed to wave sticks to "direct" traffic etc and a public debt ration of about 250% of GDP! They brainwash and lie to their population. Also, Japanese watch TV (and believe it 100%) more than any other country. Same with other media...most Japanese believe everything in newspapers 100%!

  • Wow..... thanks for the info :)

  • No problem mate! The most apt description I have ever heard of Japan is "Communism with beauty spots".

  • So true.

  • The public debt ratio is not yet up to 250%, a bit more than 200%. Gigantic of course.

But it is good business. Because actually, Japan has been borrowing from themselves to lend to others and become a net creditor to many major powers around the world. Their public debt is backed up by the US's debt and some others.

  • Hey, I got a conspiracy theory for ya!

The government has these opponents, okay, and they're called truthers. They mostly communicate via the internet, but they also get together at rallies from time to time. And they're nasty - many of them are even plotting to destroy the government and build a new country.

I know it sounds crazy, but what if it's true? :-O

  • Thanks to your earlier channel news heads up re: Northern Lights. I have a nice new desktop image. Thanks.

  • Early aurora-borealis? Maybe it has to do with getting closer to passing though the center of the milkyway galaxy in 2012. Al the planets in our solar system are getting warmer.

  • Thx for updating!

    Now I can sleep...mrw...

  • Regarding the appalling mpg figures, don't forget that an imperial gallon is around 20% more than a US gallon.

  • you also see something that looks like aurora-borealis when they are using HAARP

  • clunkers programe does work but only in the short term but my question is what do they do with the old cars when they give it in ?

  • They destroy them and ship them to a junk yard.

  • I have seen Top Gear, and I know for a fact that there are cars sold in the UK that get rather poor fuel economy. May pay a bunch of taxes on it though...

No excuse for the cash for clunkers program, I admit.

  • a 3.0l v6 jag does about 36mpg

the Americans have to wake up a little

  • We will, but only when our gas prices equal yours. The summer of 2008 was proof of that.

  • lol this is cool bad news.

  • BMW Clunker at 35 miles per gallon? You must be thinking Kilometers. I don't see a Beemer getting 35 miles per gallon. I lived in Germany for 7 years and didn't see beemers getting that kind of milage.

  • 2002 BMW 525d - Diesel engine and a LOT of motorway miles... rarely below 30, unless it was a lot of city driving, and even then rarely less than 25.

It is possible with Diesel, but apparently not very popular in the US. Hmmm?

    Peace

  • Can't explain it without resorting to "conspiracy theory"... perhaps it's just that we were so accustomed to having giant V8-powered cars in the 50's and 60's with gasoline at mere pennies per gallon that we never bothered with diesel cars. Indeed, the infrastructure for a very long time rendered diesel fuel to only be available at the major truck stops. Only in the last decade or so has "auto diesel" become popular at the local neighborhood gas stations...

  • My great grandfather once said to me when I was a kid that 'There are always wars, train crashes and economic disasters. But you know, the world goes on anyway...'

In my opinion things are never quite as bad or good as people want to believe.

  • excellent, as always!

  • Our 1995 Citroen diesel gets unbelieveable mileage here in France! That program over there is from the dinosaur age!

    Five stars, you . . .

  • "Cash For Clunkers".... What a great idea, sell the car you have paid off and go into debt to buy a new one. Everyone needs to go much further into debt so the economy can "recover".

  • lol The MOST important thing left out on the cash for clunkers is in this video

    watch?v=DHSWxn5V6yY

There appears to be a HUGE catch, check it out! omg!

  • you got that right, cheers!

  • The dollar is dying. My money is in metals.

  • interesting information again !

  • Mike, I watch all your stuff...the stuff that does not amke the main-stream news....gee I wonder why?...lol. Anywase I live out here in Vancouver. I'm glad you saud some stuff about Canada, I wish you could find more stuff about us, more often. I realize the universe revolves around the US's isssues and parts of Europe, China, etc. but us small group of Canadians are in some way dependent on the US, could you encorperate more Canada stuff...thanks, Rob.

  • I am trying to get more 'decent' Canadian news in there; but it is very tough to find "decent" articles. Seems the G&M & FP filter a lot of the truth.. grrrr!

    Peace and Love

  • "American luck, Too bad we're Canucks!"

  • kdenninger has a video showing the US GDP #'s are total BS. US GDP is dropping steadily.

Good lord, Mike! You read the "S.F. Chronicle"? I subscribe to it, but it's 90% piffle....good for a laugh.

  • Just a source... admittedly not a very good one, but easy to link to :-)

    Peace and Love

  • Here's what a box that comes up at the car site says:

'when logged on to the 'cars' system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the US Government.'

'Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected and disclosed to authorized 'cars, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.'

    don't ya just love freedom?

  • Having checked over the Rorschach blots on wiki, i have got to say, number 6 looks exceptionally rude...!!! They cannot be serious! :-O an animal skin? They mean a beaver don't they?

    :-)

And i don't care, but number 1 does look like some devilish mask! (i like the 2 gnomes dancing in number 2, and the 2 green ppl kissing in plate 9)

I take a size 10 in a straight jacket thanks!!!

    :-D

  • You and I both! Although I think my straight jacket would need to be a bit larger ;-) Number 6 looks like an angel dancing on the head of a demon? No 2 is easy - two turks dancing in a funny costume? I find No 4 to be rude myself... is that a third leg one wonders?

Let's all go find a nice padded room to play in, shall we?

    Peace and love :-)

  • Yeah, I saw the angel in No.6 too, but thought it was just an interesting piercing! :-)

    Ahem! :-)

  • Ther,s lies..dam lies..and then there,s statistics..Mark Twain

  • love that curtain. you need to take it with you and use it in canada based videos.

  • i do have a curtain in Canada, just no way of "hanging" it. (working on something)

  • Bernanke more or less "apologized" last sunday on PBS (its on their site in full) for the youth unemployment disaster. He said you may have to settle for a sub par job etc. So we can all feel better now.

But already, over 70% of under-35 workers really expect to get a new job after the "recession".

  • mike ...

people in america don't loose jobs

    they just get reallocated

     more leisure time ..

  • Yup, I just got me a four day weekend as a present from my bosses. Just no money to spend while I'm hangin' out. At least I got me a collection of #10 cans full of rice and beans.

  • Lady spends 1400 a month for food and gas, in that sfgate article. Shoot, some would live very well on that in our county. Why do they seem to interview people on UI who have another income ??

  • UI + other income = hate for the poor trying to better themselves. Spin

  • TY :-) 'recovery' can mean so much to so many. Perhaps the near addiction to debt is easing? Maybe THAT'S the recovery they're all talking about?

    Peace and Love
