Has 'Trickledown' helped make any cottage industry or societal developement, or does it just have the rich hireing poor people to build and maintain for the rich holdings?? Is a rich person hiring a young guy as a pool cleaner or a grass cutter help our society as much as would starting a factory and giving protection to industry??
The root of the problem is capitalism/corporatisim. It's undemocratic.
Democracy = equal rights and liberity for all citizens. Capitalism is on the other end of the specrum and more closely resembles communism or fascism. The reason for this is that capitalism supports the class system and those with money are favoured over those without. This why capitalism works so well in China. We need more democratic republican leaders and less capitalists in government!!
Max is distracted here and looking at the symptoms instead of the actual root cause of the problems.
It's government central planning and inflation that corrupts markets. The market itself is not the problem. Instead, it's the solution. Markets produce the things we want to maintain or improve our standard of living with. It's the financial, monetary system which is the problem.
@bobbyb1978 So the banks didn't create a housing bubble? Or dip into pensions to make bad beats? Also market dicipline only applies to us and not the thieves in Wall Street and the City Of London? Who in my opinion are scum drug dealers in suites they clean drug money. To make their accounts look good these people are not human they don't care if we kill each other as long as they stay rich.
What a solution, just make everybody's lives the same. No need to work for yourself to better your life, you only need to work for the good of everyone else to better their lives.
@bbburton My thoughts exactly. They fail to mention the cultural and social conditions of countries like Sweden and Japan, countries which are historically homogeneous and cooperative within themselves. Lets also not forget the waning mental health and actual happiness of these people whose only option is to work for Toyota or drown themselves in a bathtub I mean, just look at Japan's outrageous porn and suicide culture.
i freaking knew it, that's why the system wants us to hate communism, because it's so much better then our system. i say this because i really cant think of any reason to hate socialism or communism, except that people are always getting corrupt we should just have a computer running a socialist or communist country lol, wander how that would do.
1 most important point they missed in the discussion is that doing better only can happen in a more equal well to do society regardless whatever xxx-ism. Ask any Chinese people who are over 40s. They know first handed how terrible life was when everyone made between 20s - 30s yuan monthly. The Sweds are of course happier because they are all well to do.
Gordon Brown has a really annoying habit when he inhales during sentences with his mouth, curling his lower lip in, in a strange half-pucker. It's like the most pompous way to inhale one could ever dream up and adds to the reasons why I hate Gordon Brown. This Marxist epidemiologist broad from the UK that Max interviews has the same annoying lip-curling-mouth-inhale habit. Might she be related to Gordon Brown?
"Social Justice" and "Progressive Tax"..... code speak for "Communism"..... I'm surprised at you Max.... All those great countries she spoke of are financially worse off than we are!!!!
Yes, as usual governments, and government action, are innocent of all charges. We just need more interference and everything will be okay! (Because governments have never interfered in anything over the past century, har har...)
It's fairly obvious why financial equality equates to better everything. The poor can't pay taxes and the rich avoid taxes. Social programs rely on a strong middle class to cover the bills.
As for this bogus list of wealthiest people in the world, this is in fact a list of billionaires :) Trillionaires are excluded. Where is David Rockefeller? The man owns oil. All of it.
which world do you come from? in your dreams, peasant. equality is one of the major contributors to the imminent demise of the US socio-economic structure.
if they hadn't emancipated the slaves they would not have the rotten socio-economic structure they have now, and they would have a least cost labor force for producing goods.
to put it more plainly, and i'm assuming you are not colored, if there are still slaves now, then you would be a middle class person with slaves under you in the hierarchy.
now that there are no slaves, we just have to make you slaves - using monetary control.
Max, you are drinking the communist kool-aid of equality and redistribution. Fiat currencies and private central banks are the source of wealth gaps. BTW healthcare is a service not a right. I suggest you go read some Mises and stop talking to the overwieght marxists in the comfortable shoes.
Bad boy Billy said on a TED conference that he loves vaccines to help population controle (genocide). And sure enough he gets a lot of tax cuts from shipping his profits to his Lucius Trust fund. My question is this: do you have to be an evil idiot to get rich? There is something fundamentally wrong with this systum. What do you think?
I can't see how to not to be a nationalist in Brazil as an option after the american exponsored military coup of 1964. And if that was not enouth take in mind the 16% interest in national debt combine with the multinational monopoly paradise system implanted by the corrupt dictators.

Hey i never laid any blame on Max, I was just stating that he made the technology that now others are abusing. He never meant it for that reason and it's probably one of the reasons he goes hell for leather for them in all the shows I have watched.
I was just posing the idea that he would be mega pissed of by this.

Wikipedia: In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.[1][2] While uncommon, the FBIs Hostage Barricade Database System shows that roughly 27% of victims show evidence of Stockholm syndrome.[3] The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg

Neo-Liberalism is a statist and interventionist. It is not market fundamentalism by any stretch.

redistribution of wealth is bad
Wealth is in the land and the people and should be extracted for the people, not for the owners of the land and people
good for you Max for speaking out against the real redistribution of wealth
funny what we call redistribution of wealth is actually the RE-redistribution of wealth
real redistribution of wealth is called going to work
