  • to me , this was the hardest part of the mission, they had to time this launch perfectly and then rendevous with a moving orbiting target and link up with this moving target and then go back to Earth.

  • Why is there fire when the ignition goes off, doesn't fire need Oxygen.

  • @FienStudios For rockets to work they must contain both fuel and an oxidizer. The oxidizer is necessary to supply the oxygen for combustion to take place.

  • who controls the camera to follow the lunar mod take off?

  • @aramhampson

    Ed Fendell

  • @aramhampson didn't you read the top comment?

  • @FienStudios no i did not...

  • Conspiracy theorists are diagnosible paranoics

  • face book dotcom /album.php?aid=97307&id=1378478661&l=bd2fadd194 a closer look at some solid evidence.

  • @dallasgoldbug Sorry, but all I find there is some uneducated misinterpretation of the facts. Hilarious on its own, but not "evidence" of anything.

  • @chrishavel typical cop out. Why don't you be a little more specific, since I presented you with over 100 pages to digest. Or would you rather just dance around my point about the boot print and the 10,000 lb of thrust issue?

Feel free to be very specific as facts are encouraged for proper debate. No santa comments Thanks.

  • @dallasgoldbug The DPS was throttled back to 3k lbs of thrust at landing. Spread over the area covered by the engine bells, that comes to a massive 1 lb per sq inch on the lunar surface for a very brief time. Material on the granular surface was moved an appropriate amount for that force. Specific enough for you? I'm going to guess no, since people who have bought into a conspiracy theory tend to disregard facts which disprove their delusion. Think about that for a sec before you retort.

  • it looks just like a UFO

  • HUBBLE HAS TAKEN PHOTOS OF THE LANDING SIGHTS ALL YOU IDIOT NON BELIEVERS. LOOK THE SHIT UP

  • @SulcZp no it hasnt

  • If the mission was faked, what contingency plan did they have in place if the Saturn V blew up on the launch pad (always a strong possibility). Would they have killed the astronauts sitting in a back room in NASA? If the astronauts knew they were about to fake a mission, they must have also known that an exploding Saturn V would have either lead to their murder, or at least change their identities and hide them for life. It's all too hard. I am forced to believe the landing is genuine.

  • I don't like to think the moon landing was fake, but how was the camera remote controlled given the lag to send such a command? Someone suggested they started the pan upwards 8 seconds earlier on Earth, which you would almost believe if the countdown started at 10 seconds rather than 3. But how did the camera man know it was 5 seconds before the 3 second countdown? As well, the mission was expensive enough without including a remote control camera just to get one takeoff shot...

  • WAS THIS LIVE?

  • China should say: Hey look we give you money. Now, go back to he moon you dirty lying Yanks.

  • Funny mission control admitted to sending the tilt command to the camera 8 seconds prior to lifto off. Which would be accurate if the camera did a straight vertical tilt at a steady rate. But it dosnt and it pans to the left and then follows the model. IT IS IMPOSSABLE for mission controll to do anything other than give a tilt command accurately with the 8 sec delay. CANT REALTIME MOVE THE CAMERA TO FOLLOW THE CRAFT. FAKE FAKE FAKE PROOF

  • @dallasgoldbug You're just wrong, unfortunately. Total transmission lag is only a couple of seconds between Earth and the moon ... when the camera is pointed nearly straight up and the angle of attack between the camera and the lander is very small, a few seconds is plenty of time to make corrections. And I hate to break it to you, but there is no Santa. Sorry.

  • @chrishavel face book dotcom /album.php?aid=97307&id=1378478661&l=bd2fadd194 have at it!

  • Moonstone Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam The Netherlands was fake.

  • I understand the moon has 1/6 the gravity of Earth and no atmosphere to provide resistance, but that little module, with no external fuel tank, was supposed to have enough fuel to get back into lunar orbit? This I don't understand, if someone could please explain that would rule.

  • The moon's escape velocity is about 2.38m/s compared to the Earth's, which is about 11.18m/s.

With the module weighing only about 3 tonnes, not so much thrust is needed to rejoin the CM, about 100 miles above.

  • @krisdevalle no wait a sec. it took a hydrazine rocket 10,000 pounds of thrust the to land it. (without any noise or vibration to the astronauts or their voice sitting on top of it, YEAH RIGHT) and it left no impression under it, or no dust on the landing feet. COME ON! Do u know what 10,000 pounds of thrust looks like? Look it up on NASA's site. Then tell me it wouldn't have cratered the surface under the craft. Come on use your common sense people! EVEN THE ROCKET SCIENTIST SAID ITS BOGUS

  • @dallasgoldbug Actually the landing engine was throttled back to 30%. There are signs of a very shallow crater under the engine bell. As the average dust layer depth on the moon is about 2-6 inches, with much denser regolith underneath that, this is why only a shallow crater formed.

If you have a rocket scientist that says this is bogus, then please supply the name and credentials of this person.

  • @krisdevalle UH then what did Armstrong make a boot print in?

  • @dallasgoldbug Dust further away from the engine bell that was not dispersed. I'm not sure why you think this is a problem when the entire field of rocket engineering and geology does not. Do you understand this? It appears only to be uneducated amateurs who don't seem to understand either the mechanics of exhaust dispersal in a vacuum, or the soil mechanics of the lunar surface. Do some reading, for your own sake.

  • NASA could end this argument once and for all. Just photograph the abandoned landers and rovers and hey presto - proof (or no proof). Does anyone agree?

  • @mikeyh55

They have photographed them shitwit but moon hoaxers don't like to admit it because it shows how retarded they are.

  • @mikeyh55 they already have... squidoo DOT com /apollo-moon-landing-photos-from-space... peace

  • I tried to locate anything left on moon on Google earth (Google space), but it is impossible. I dont understand if i can see my window on earth from space why cannot i see anything on moon. I hope that mankind was on moon however although this record really looks like montage.

  • What camera took the footage???

  • The one on the LRV (lunar rover).

  • If you are gonna call the whole thing a hoax at least under stand basic fucking physics before opening your mouth.

  • Agreed.

  • i don't believe nasa

  • I would like to think that this is real, if it was fake it would Kill the US rep for years to come. No its real and iam British, Still remember watching II take off when i was just 6 yrs old. Brave Men

  • The most expensive SF movie (50 B USD) of all times! :-)

  • You guys notice the lack of a propulsion mechanism too? Only in the beginning some weird take off, but after that it just flies away without any propulsion visible.

  • What are you expecting? Flames?

  • When they took off from the moon the final time did any one notice they left the poor camera man up there! Hope hes alright. Hes probs got some allotments up there now growing lunar vegetables and fruite.

Star trekking across the Universe must be an awesome job! WOW!

  • The people who try and debunk conspiracy theories are nothing more then shills for the people who made the hoax :p sometimes shills dont even realize there helping the wrong person..see its ignorance that seperates us all .. we all belive were right... guess what your all wrong... you have no idea whats happening around you or whats going on .. you see mearly illusions and preceive them as reality.. when in reality i can shut your brain off with one move :) checkmate

  • CONSPIRACY THEORIES!!!!

  • If the Saturn V burned its entire fuel store in 2.5 minutes, how much fuel was needed for the ascent module to launch and accellerate to reach the command module?? The ascent module does not look like it holds much fuel to begin with, but I dont know, movie cops and robbers never run out of bullets with six shooters.

  • CALCULATIONS? Well calculate this, if the saturn V

  • nasa get calculations wrong today. i dont know how they got everthing right back then.

    1) direction of moon = easy

2)slow down enough to land safely on moon= difficult

3)enough fuel carried to take off from moon and accelerate mass of shuttle back to earth= more difficult

4)considering all the variables and things that may go wrong? =i find it hard to belive.

Also isnt there some radiation belt around earth? how did the astronuts cope with that? was that an unexpected variable?

  • simple mirrored foil can deflect infrared light, visible light...thats one type of radiation..

if you go to the doctor you can wear a thin lead based cover to block higher frequency rays...I am sure they some kind of special suit for that. also you need to have exposure constantly for a long period of time for any kind of ill effect...they were out of the atmosphere and into space within minutes...

you make it sound like cosmic rays are like an electro-plasma death membrane ...its not...

  • Yeah, listen to bubba, he knows real science. Such as how true is it to be able to stand up in a cramped outhouse that is supposed to be blasted off of a moons surface with a rocket??? Waitaminute, can anyone stand up in a rocket while it blasts off straight up into the cosmos??????? Hey bubba, whut yuh thank???

  • I was at Cape Kennedy for the Apollo 17 liftoff in December 1972. What a magnificent sight. I'll never forget how the night sky turned to day!

  • The nasa feed was displayed on a large screen like at a movie theater. Then the news camera men filmed the screen and could pan and zoom the screen. Just like pirated movies made from sneaking camcorders into the movie theaters.

  • WAKE-UP DUMBASS!MAN DID GO TO THE MOON! this whole thing was probably thought up by pissed off, jelouse russians like yourself. Either that, or you were just bored.

  • Actually, it was on the Lunar Rover, not the LEM. They parked it infront of the LEM, facing it with the camera. It would be impossible to get that distance on a camera attached onto the LEM. By the way, it is called the lunar module.

  • The camera was remotely controlled to synchronize with the takeoff. It's on the back of a lunar lander, and its easy to tell that the camera's motions were remote controlled as it only changes zoom and angle of elevation one at a time and at a standard rate.

  • bullshit

  • lol nice comeback.

  • Excuse me, but how could the camera itself follow the lunar module movement after de launch?

    Thank you.

  • love this shot. always wondered how they did it. thanx for the clip and for all the posts with the details

  • Who cares if they're fake..at least we know we beat Russia to the moon and make way better movies..LOL..If we were thre.Hoora!!!! If not ohwell..we'll still get there first!

  • Well that would have to be one gigantic film studio to track the module that high..thats one continuous shot ..and the module becomes a tiny dot....at least 3oo - 500 feet....the size of a small sky scraper?????If its a crane holding the module on a wire...wouldnt the module start to swing like a pendulum

  • Actually towards the end of the clip he says 1500 feet.

  • Well that would have to be one gigantic film studio to track the module that high..thats one continuous shot ..and the module becomes a tiny dot....at least 3oo - 500 feet....the size of a small sky scraper?????

  • From the NASA Chief himself.......... "Perhaps the BIGGEST slip of the tongue was made by NASA Chief DanGoldin when interviewed by UK TV journalist Sheena McDonald. He said that

"mankind cannot venture beyond Earth orbit, 250 miles into space, until they can find a way to overcome the dangers of cosmic radiation. " He must have forgot that they supposedly sent 27 astronauts 250,000 miles outside Earth orbit over 36 years ago. "

  • so fake!!! so hollywood!! CHECK OUT MOON TRUTH!! MAKE A SEARCH HERE IN YOUTUBE FOR MOON TRUTH

  • Fake? Hollywood? Do you think there are alien bodies in a meat locker at Area 51 too? Are you smarter than everyone who was alive then and witnessed the first steps on the moon? NASA released the radio frequencies used to communicate with the space craft, which means anyone with a radio telescope could listen in, such as the Soviet Union. If they thought it was faked do you think they would keep it quiet? The folks responsible for "Moon Truth" need to lay off the pipe and learn real science.

  • I was a teen when I first saw this and I remember thinking "that looks so fake". I believed in it nevertheless. Now I don't. That 6 second delay makes it impossible to follow the travel across the lunar sky.

  • It's hard not to call people idiots on YouTube because it somehow makes me feel as though I'm stooping to their level. Anyways, the camera controller knew of the delay and was able to correct for this by sending the signal to pan the camera up 6 seconds before the Lunar Module took off, and therefore capturing the event perfectly.

  • They tried to do the same thing with the two previous Apollo missions but camera problems kept them from capturing the event. Anyways, you're an idiot for disbelieving that man went to the moon. There is just too much hard evidence to say that they did, and essentially none to say that they didn't.

  • there is where you are completetly WRONG

  • What makes me wrong? What is your argument? What is your proof?

  • The camera is zoomed out prior to launch, then preemptively tilted up (only one way the LMs going). The launch was a fixed time. Using maths and watching a clock and knowing what to do, this type of tracking is _easy_ for someone with camera experience. Not impossible by any stretch.

  • The same person who controlled the tilt, pan, zoom and exposure of the LRV mounted camera, was the same person who had done it on previous missions, so he had the experience of sending the command to tilt and zoom relative to the transmission time lag from those previous missions. He got it right on this mission and provided us with magnificent footage!

  • Get the fuck outta here. The same person.....

    What an asshole.How the fuck do u8 know?And don't tell me u work 4 nasa.Asswipe

  • Ed... It's all documented. Do a little research.

I'm sure that under that crusty, misanthropic exterior there's a warm intelligent human being... or perhaps you have the potential to grow up into one, some day.

  • watch?v=yk5zQgNgV8Q

Watch this documented film of Apollo 16 taking off from the moon.

Now u too can 1 day grow up 2 b someone that knows what fucking wires look like. lol

    perhaps some day.

  • Cadu. OK. I looked. Did I miss eomthing there? You say I'm supposed to SEE wires in that video?

  • :27 clear as day

  • Cadu... I paused directlyon 0:27 and there is notthe slightest indication of any sort of wires. You're dreaming.

  • U can't pause- it's clear as day :26 going into:27 i can stop it right in the middle and see it-clear as DAY.

  • What do you mean I can't pause it? All you have to do is hit the pause button on the video display window and the image freezes. There is no wire.

  • Ed... In fact THE SAME PERSON who remote controlled the tilt and zoom of the camera left on the LRV was named Ed Fendell. He did this on Apollos 15, 16 and 17.

    Check it out.

    I don't work for NASA. I READ!

  • Yeah Ed Fendell is the one who arranged this TEAKETTLE blast off from NASA MOON-TABLE above. He was the one pulling the wires on the TEA KETTLE.I BELIEVE THEY HAD EARL GREY. LMFAO

  • I know it's pointless trying to reason with you, Cadu, but I'll throw this in for the hell of it. I've worked in special effects for twenty years, part of that time in miniature special effects. I'm very familiar with the technological capabilities available in 1967 to 1972. Even though the resolution of this video image is at the low end, they could not have produced this shot, or the 1/6 G moonwalking. You cannot find a Hollywood movie from that era that shows anything remotely like it.

  • Ok paratirisi, now I read your description! ;)

You wrote the cam was controlled from Huston.

But isnt the moon too far away that you can control a camera in real-time??

I read radio-waves took a lot of time to cover the moon-earth distance ?!?

    plz answer. thx!!

  • The controller operating the camera from Houston was dealing with a 6 second delay.

  • ok, thx

  • WOW cool special effect ;). Looks like Hollywood!

And who filmed this?? Did they let a man on the moon? lol

  • In this day and age, with all we have and see etc. Some people still think that we did'nt go to the moon.I bet you don't even beleve in TV or the jet age,or even the technology that lets you watch this "truth" on your computer,it must be your mum told you all about it.

    Dream on.

  • ROTFLMAO!!! So funny. They can control a non-digital camera with gelatin film that can withstand temps between-40F to 240 degrees, and doesn't respond to solar radiation greater than found at Chernobyl. Hey, who needs that 7 feet of lead protection when you have Hollywood? Certainly not the astro-nots!

    I love it. It's definintely a favorite.

  • The camera used was a RCA J-Series Ground-Commanded Television Assembly (GCTA). The camera used a Silicon Intensifier Target (SIT) Tube image sensor which sent video to earth digitally. This camera used no film.

  • Bluff. There's only one way to prove one's position, and every scientist knows it. A photo of the sky. And there has never been such a simple shot taken on any of these so-called missions.

  • What do you mean a photo of the sky? You wouldn't see any 'sky' on the moon, just outer space. The moon has no atmosphere and therefore no visible sky. There have been, however, pictures taken from the moon that show the earth.

  • I don't know what kind of proof you conspiracy loonies need to prove that man walked on the moon. I'm guessing it's nothing short of you being up there yourself. Seriously, what kind of evidence would you need to have to be convinced?

  • Don't dare claim you're only being skeptical. A real skeptic demands to be convinced. No evidence, no matter how strong, can convince a conspiracy theorist they are wrong.

  • To believe that the moon landings were faked, you would have to be psychotic or embarrassingly ignorant. Either that, or you're being simply dishonest.

There is just too much hard evidence that shows, beyond any reasonable doubt, man walked on the moon.

  • It is not a matter of belief.People are just noticing contradictions and based on those obvious contradictions. They figure out that it had not been done genuinly.

  • I don't think they had digital cameras that advanced back then. Computers were extremely huge even to do small calculation tasks. This video looks like model special fx, honestly (especially the way the explosive bits fly out from the base).

  • Do some research. The cameras are nothing like they are now, however they worked on basic principles. Nearly everyone had been using video tubes in television cameras until the early 1990s. The cameras on the moon functioned much like the TV cameras of that era.

  • OK but someone above me said they were digital.

  • Yes, I did, my mistake. They were sent electronically, not digital.

  • I think it was video, but I no longer think they went to the moon anyway.

  • That's a shame then. Everything that happened is well documented. However, if all you are fed is conspiracy theory material you'll never get to see the real information. Your loss.

  • hightax you dumb fvck. It was controlled remotely from Houston. Do some research, twat.

  • The biggest evidence against us landing on the moon is often overlooked. Who was there to pivot the camera upwards when the eagle lander took off?

    think about that.

  • I think President Bush wants the astronauts to walk this time.

  • wah wah

    fake

  • The Apollo 18 equipment was used in the Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975. Darn GOP's cutting poor NASA's funding!

  • If we manage to go back there with the CEV without the program losing funding or getting canceled, it will be an incredible thing to witness. No one has stood on another world for over 30 years - it'll sure be something to see it happen again.

  • Filmed in Hollywood

  • Man I think it was about 3 seconds not 12! Nevertheless, I too think he did a great job synchronizing his earth actions with the camera on the moon

  • We had the technology 35 years ago and quit. Apollos 18 through 20 were built and ready, and Nixon and the Republicans cancelled them.

  • The signal from the earth to the moon and back took 12 seconds, and the camera was operated from Houston by a guy called Ed Fendel. He had to tilt and zoom out at exactly the right moment or else he might overshot the LM or miss its ascent totally...I think he did an excellent job.

  • it takessignal 1,5 seconds to get there 0,5 to get processed and 1,5 to get back... not 12...

  • So,man left the moon and hos not returned since december 1972.
