I think that there are certain forms of art, as well as certain performances, that can only be fully understood within their cultural contexts. For example, I do understand her facial expressions, but I will have a lot of trouble explaining it to a non-Egyptian. You have to know a lot of background about this particular music and the emotions it carries (the word Om-Kalthoum is enough to an Egyptian). She is simply reacting to that emotional baggage.

I'm personally not a Dina fan. But I disagree with you saying Orit is better. Dina is original, she invented her own style and aparently it works for her. Many modern dancers including Orit have adopted the "Dina style" of dancing. Not only do they imitate her dancing, moves etc.. they even copy her costumes. Haven't u noticed that bd costumes keep getting skankier? And guess who's responsible.

I know what it is. She's literally stuffed into a size 2 costume when she's clearly a 6 and instead of complimenting her body, that outfit makes her look her age and that keeps you from enjoying the dance. She looks like she's straight out a Poison video from the 90's. Respect!
