I'm an ex-mormon. I no longer have anything to do with the church, but I also believe that Romney is far and away the best Republican candidate in terms of his record and articulating future policy. Hands down.
I'm probably going to support Huckabee, but to me this media freak-out about Romney's religion is ridiculous. Props to Romney for laying all this out on the line as he did here.
Now, I suppose we're going to have to move on to whether America is ready for a Baptist minister President (no more beer and wine at the White House for at least four years!) or not.
Mormon temples are off-limits to outsiders. Their churches are seperate but equal. If Mit became president the WhiteHouse would be off-limits to the public. Mormons are a seperate but equal religion. Jesus never closed the doors on anyone. He welcomed everyone of every age. Jesus Christ would never be seperate but equal.
I was raised in the church from time I was 6 months old until I was 16. I'm fairly certain I know exactly what I'm talking about. Thus I have the facts. Thus I am not assuming. Thus have I judged for myself. Thus I understand what they believe for I made my statement.

In addition, you chastise others for not understanding God's providence or the reasons for His decisions. Don't you think it's a bit arrogant to believe that you know how God is going to carry out his greater plan? Even if we assume the premise that God controls every aspect of our lives, there is no way that we, limited and mortal beings, can predict an omniscient God.

I truly hope Mitt Romney is our next president. He is an amazing man, with faith in God. To him, if he is not successful, well, too bad. There is another plan for him. He shares his faith not in a way to convert followers, but to let people know that he is faithful, and will not let people who have closed their hearts change his faith.
