Spoken like someone who has never actually ridden a motorcycle. I have seen 600+ hp streetbikes running 530 chains and they do just fine. I have snapped chains and popped them off of sprockets many times, both in my MX days and on my Supermoto, a broken chain doesn't automatically mean the tire locks up dumbass, that is a very small possibility. Chains are preferred because they are stronger, more durable, and they don't make your bike look like a gay ass Harley.
