LOL!!!!!! His shit floats. Oh man I almost died on that one. Since Dark Reign ended I have been kind of turned off by Marvel. It started with One More Day. After that shit I haven't purchased another Amazing Spider-Man. Only book I am really following is Thunderbolts right now. I was following New Avengers, but I dropped it after the last issue. I can't stand Remender Jr's art on the Avenger. It is terrible.

Really loving Dick Grayson centric books in DC, as well as a few other books.

Decompression hurts comics, but what I think hurts comics more is over-referencing past continuity. Picking up a comic book is like jumping into the middle of a long soap opera. You have no clue what's going on unless you go on Wikipedia and research past continuity. I think this is a reason comic books are less popular than they were decades ago - they are less accessible to newbies, and publishers seem intent on milking as much as they can from their existing reader base.

You guys were right, this stuff is boring, after this vid I almost don't want to pick up a comic book ever again. Like you said if you like comics cool but you don't want to know how they are made, all the business stuff just takes all the fun out of it. Marvel and DC both need to stop all this back to back hatred and just put out some good material that's all I am asking for.

XD I'm guessing it's too late, but I've really enjoyed Bram Stokers Death Ship for example, and I'm always looking for more horror comics. (I haven't seen any on the blog save for American Vampire)

Only dummies would say you were snarky for saying, “told ya so.” 3.99 is way too much for 22 pages ( 6 to 9 of which are splash pages). Combine that w/ terrible economic conditions. Sheesh. 20 pages of solid storytelling is fine by comparison. Agree w/ Elliott. The shows w/ in-depth industry stuff are your best shows. My weekly pull list is down to 2 titles on average now. It’s not only cost. I don’t want JUNK.

A lot of the 3.99 books are a 2.99 book with some story I don't even care about tacked on at the end. (even Image's Bulletproof Coffin did it this week) I keep telling myself I'm through with Marvel, but I just can't help myself.

I'm not suprise that the #'s R down for Sept.

1 of the reasons I stop picking up comics IS Money, I'm married now & have a little girl. The Extra cash IS Not There Anymore. Now I Just Buy Graphic Novels & Trade Paperbacks.

DC & Marvel Need to get New Readers in, cause the industry is dying. They can't rely on US Old Farts to kept on Buying!

Marvel is just trying to out do or show up DC and it's not working. Honestly I KNEW Marvel wasn't going to cut their prices. The truth with Marvel is they want money and they don't care how they get it from their readers, where as DC comics care about their readers more. I say rip away, everyone has their opinion if other people don't like it that's just too bad.

What percentage of sales are from comic book stores? Do we know if sales are going up or down in bookstores and elsewhere?

If I understand correctly, the public figures are just for comic book store sales/orders.

Although I completely buy less comics when they cost more--wait for trades becomes more compelling, or even wait to borrow the trade from the library!

@Damiankilby These are direct market sales, counting the total number of books ordered by comic shops. Numbers for bookstores fluctuate because the books are returnable for them, whereas they are not for your LCS. Elliott

95,000 people went to new york comic con but most books sell under 90,000 hmm and if comics are dying why are so many people trying to get in? actors novelists musicians it seems every month  another one is getting in the game is it just an end around to getting a movie development?
