  • to @Fusion2222 , hippies are the shit. but yours are beautiful! i hope mine someday look like that, i'm almost 2 months:/

  • Dreads will naturally want to dread together, because they will just knot to anything near them! The only thing you can really do is rip em apart. It might hurt a little but it's really all you can do :P I had the same problem when I was at about 5 months, I had to cut some apart but mostly it was ripping. You could also crochet hook the loose hairs to help prevent it, but make sure you don't over hook.

You're dreads look great on you!

  • its just me or she looks totally hippie?

  • pretty girl (:

  • you're beautiful, amazing dreads yo!

  • your dreads look GREAT.

How many dreads do you have?

  • Hey from Toronto!!!! :) Amazing, I watched your video when you were just starting to sleep without your rag on, and the change to this video is amazing. THEY LOOK STUNNING!!!! Love it, they suit you so well and you're adorable :)

  • im gonna get dreads to but i have to wait untill im like 17 and i just turned 16 so im like sooo ready to but cant :/, btw your beautiful!!!!....ps and im a guy not a girl <333

  • ur a fuckin babe nd a half

  • I'm currently growing my hair out to get dreads(: I've watched several video's on congos, & the people that have gotten them just pull them apart. Then after they just crochet hook loose hair back in. It seems to work for them :)

  • maybe you ought to start a whole new style you can shampoo with epoxy and dont rinse it out it might look cool

  • When my dreads start to form together at the root, I cut where they have formed and then palm roll and wah-la!

  • i hope dread locks will become more and more acceptable in society. yours are absolutely gorgeous! and so is your face! im growing my hair out just so that i can dread my hair. my best friend has them. i basically dreaded her hair for her. it was a long process, but her hair looks amazing now. i wish more people were as open minded about dreads. because they really arent dirty or gross at all.

  • @rhcplovebug Thank you! I hope society broadens its horizons soon, as well.

  • @rhcplovebug I love dreads and am thinking about growing them out the neglect method as I grow my hair out. I think that if dreads were looked upon as a culture thing or an art expression then maybe just maybe stiff necked society would be more acceptable towards them, because not everyone who has dreads or loves the style and fashion of dreadys is a ganja smoker. To each his own, but stereotypes are sometimes inevitable. I honestly think dreads make women more attractive

  • you should let me twist your dreads:) no creeper. ive had mine for 6 months and theeyre not fuzzy at all:)

  • i dont want to invade your personal life or insult you in anyway, but im truly curious as to how your life has changed with your dreads.from what i observe, & understand(i have 7 dreads, & plan to do more) dreads need alot of care & require a change in one's daily routines.somtimes society doesnt except them....like some jobs dont hire b/c they think its unsanitary.and thats what i worry about. i really want to follow through with my journey to a full dread head, but i would love some insight :)

  • @charleeinwonderland My dreadlocks have not hindered my life in any way. I got a job with them, and my family has all accepted them. I live in Canada, so this might be different in other countries/places.

  • @charleeinwonderland I would suggest telling society that your into your culture and love the way dreads keep you reminded of that. peace love and no hair grease .

  • my friend had one huge congo really it was more just like a matted circle he just ripped that shit he had tons of stray hairs and just croched them in

  • Yup just rip them apart like my buddy Samantha pearl said

  • Silly.. You have to go through and pull them apart before they congo :)

  • What an hottie

  • I had this problem A few years back, what I did was the rubber band separation as well and it worked fine. It helps if you keep pulling them apart and wait till your hair grows some more so you can get the crochet needle in there to work. sadly I had to cut my hair off because it was an occupational hazard, and it was burnt up from a few years of welding. I was thinking of growing it out again. but I'm a little hesitant because I'm not sure if people will hire an engineer with dreadlocks.

  • U r so beautiful! lovin da hair! but wat kind of earing are those called? they r awesome!

  • white people are lame and have no own coulture

  • asdfghjkl you're dreads :3 love 'em

  • I absolutely love love LOVE those earrings! where did you get them!!

  • you and your dreads are sooo sexxy !!

i started my locks about 3 n a half months ago and they r taking 4 ever to fully lock up... how long have u had yours. and what i do to keep my congos from forming is juss twisting the dreads at its root really really tight constantly so all the loose hairs cant go from section to section.. i dont have african hair texture either. im not sure how 2 explain it really hope it helps tho

  • I'm just coming across these videos out of nowhere, and although I find dreads fascinating, I have no idea what's supposed to look good. Can't you just go to a hairdresser rather than ripping and tearing your hair apart?

  • Many people may think dreads are "gross" but i personally think they are beautiful, and let me tell you, you look absolutley stunning!! I want ones like yours so bad omg they're great!!!! :D do you think i'd look decent with them?

  • @MissMallyB Thank you so much! Mine were just made with a lot of TLC, lmao. And OF COURSE, you would look gorgeous. Most people look amazing with locks. Just remember that mine here are about 5 - 6 months old. They won't look tight and lovely immediately. Best wishes, Luv :)

  • I have 2 congos in the back, each one has 2 growing from it. i may just cut them apart while they are young(3 months)

  • @wingsonmyback1 That's what I had to do, sadly :'''(

  • You are fucking stunning, holy shit. Most attractive dreads video on youtube by far (:

  • @goodmorningchap Thank youu! <3

  • what i did is, i tear them every morning before i start my day... it helps wake me up but it tears the sections down to the scalp and keeps them seperated...

  • HI I THINK YOUR DREADS look great ,i love them my dreads are 78 days old an are pretty much all locked, what do you suggest to do with my dreads after i wash i use dr brooners organtic castile peppermint shampoo i really like it ,should i use anything on them after i wash or just leave them be??

  • @hippigirlful Don't put anything into your dreads after! Use as little product as possible. Putting any product in, even certified "dreadlock" products, can stimulate growth of mildew/mould in your dreads. Watch my "how to wash dreads" video for more info.

  • @hippigirlful swim in the sea :D let your dreads be free

  • same problem here! so annoying. im constanly working with the back. i have started combining then because the smaller ones congoed worse. im only at like 3 months too. : /

  • use a crochet hook at the roots

  • Congos are just thick dreads, not one big dread

  • @SweatyManChest No, they're not, my friend. They're when more than one dread combines at the roots.

  • Ughh I'm having the same problem with congos but I hate it

  • you shouldnt use wax, you just need to be patient, wear a dread cap 24/7 and why would you want to get rid of your congos? I have so many and I like them more than the regular ones but yeah if you did them the natural way then it would have been a lot easier to separate them because the rate of your hair locking is a lot slower

  • @musixismylife420 Ha ha. I literally just said in my videos that I don't use wax. I don't agree with wearing a dread cap... Why would you do that? You're covering up your beautiful locs, and not giving them the time to get locked up out in the open.

  • @BeckyAngelix oh my bad i didnt see that, but wearing a cap basically initiates the hair locking process by compressing the hair together and tangling the hair up. I wore it for the first year straight and now every once in a while ill take it off but i just love how it keeps the hair out of my face haha but yeah after about 6 months you get little baby guys and they start eating each other pretty slow so you separate them by just fucking with them once they get the size you want

  • @musixismylife420 Okay, well I don't agree. If it works for you, cool though!

  • @BeckyAngelix well how did you start them?

  • I had some really bad congos at the nape of my neck, first i had my hubby help me rip them apart to try and not have one giant mat that was forming! but it still was getting crazy, so i actually just watched tv shows and patiently combed them out (took a long long time) and then put beads at the roots to keep them tame and they've been great since :) still crazy back there but managable now!

looking great tho, love the red too! blessings

  • Nice dreads!

  • So most of my dreads are four months old, but some of them are like six months. Those are the ones I had in with all my regular hair and obsessively took care of every day. Then all my hair was dreaded and I didn't do as much because I got lazy. I'm getting that Congo shit too! D: I suggest cutting them once, rubber-banding them, and crochetting them EVERY DAY for like a month, then see where it goes. I cut mine once and they're already congoing again. :c I'mma pick up bands and cut them again.

  • @The0Breakfast0Monkey Exactly what I've been doing :) Glad someone agrees!

  • i think the only thing you have to do to deal with congos is rip them apart. if it hurts or if its difficult when its wet just do it one day after every shower and do it every time. i think that will fix your problem. i do it all the time and ive never had to worry about dreads combining! peace

  • Why are all you girls from Canada so God damn beautiful and cute?? <3 <3 also don't worry about the dreads but if you are the only thing you can do is rip them apart. If you find that ripping them apart is too difficult add a little conditioner and then pull out the hairs which are making the dreads join from the root of the dreads.

Btw well done for going Natural.... ive go natural too!! best way :)

  • @shabs124 Thanks!

I'm not completely natural, I use wax occasionally, but I've pretty much stopped altogether :)

  • @BeckyAngelix I wouldn't add conditioner , try seperating them when they are wet or try a small amount of olive oil

  • i got a suggestion. just calm down.

  • @TheChrishendrix Not an option.

  • @BeckyAngelix why??? lol I mean it is just hair chum. you seem to be gettin stressed over your dreads. x

  • @TheChrishendrix Hair to me is about self-expression. As an artist, self-expression is very important to me. If I want to worry about my hair, I'll worry about my hair.

  • @BeckyAngelix lol aint you a grumpy one lol ill leave you to it madame god bless lol

  • i wish you luck :)

  • let them do what they want to do :) if they want to congo let them or else you will be dealing with ripping them apart and fighting them for a looooooong time. idk if they will ever stop from trying to form together. they are looking good forsure.

  • @TREENAKA1 Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm really obsessed with having neat and tidy dreads. I think the natural look looks very lovely on some people, but it's not what I'm looking for :)

  • i think i might cry if you shave your head

  • @KmAcRkSeOwNn Don't worry, it won't be for four or five years :P

  • Pretty cool dreads. I like the different dreads with color and "decorations". I get Congo's to I pull them apart and palm roll them at the roots. I have cut them a few times if they haven't grown together to bad. If they do I just let them go. IV used beads and hair wraps to keep em from growing together. I found usen a baking soda rinse helps. Good luck on your journey peace

  • @anthonywk419 Yup! I'm using tiny golden rings to keep mine separate at the back. Thanks for the advice!

  • I had a congo going on in the back, and i just jept pulling them apart every few days, then eventually I put a bead up towards the root of one of them and that stopped them from trying to combine. So maybe that will work !

  • @miyavischopstixx Ha ha, yeah, I put little golden beads and elastic bands at the roots. Thanks!

  • so cute >.<
