you should try this combo Shimano Calais 4x8 DC Baitcast Reel 649$+G.Loomis GLX Trigger Bass Rod 475$=1124$ its a really nice cheap combo i use for catching bass and others.
georgez333, baitcasters are the most fun reels ive owned. But the first time you use it, your gonna think it is the biggest peice of crap you have ever bought but you will get used to it. I fish both sat and fresh. I just started fresh and love it. Baitcasters are so fun to catch fish on. The baitcaster is very accurate.
You said you've got a Revo coming in the mail soon... that is a fantastic reel! I've got a Revo STX with a 7.1:1 ratio on a 7' Abu Garcia Conolon Premier medium-heavy rod with Tufline 30lb braid and i could not be happier! I hope you enjoy yours and catch as many fish on it as i have on mine. Abu for life!
well baitcast takes along time to get it perfect..u will get alot of backlashes when u first use it..spinning reels it takes a little time to master it...for reel that last long it depends wat brand you get ..i prefer shimano quatum or plferger
