  • the disc remind me od silly puddy

  • My girl had this surgery at 18. She slipped out of the nurses' grip on the way to the bathroom, and the fall broke her back. She had 10 more years of mobility. Chelle has FA and is now in a wheelchair. She is the love of my life.

  • Would be continued the other one but go up all the way. The first surgery was scary to my parents. They were told i would only be in the surgery for 6 hours but it turned out to be 9 and a half. I have have up my dance class for this. I dance ballet, modern, and jazz. To any of you who have the same problem... I'm guessing it will be worth it. I'm happy that when I recover fully from both I can go back to my dance class and be a pain-free dancer. :D

  • I'm 14 and on November 29th I had my surgery for my 4th vertebrae. It is similar to the example shown where the vertebrae slips off another. My vertebrates actually all slipped off and started moving downward. My surgeon had to fuse it and freeze it cause it was stressing my nerves. In June 2012 I will then get my scoliosis surgery which I'm ready. No big deal ^.^ the first surgery left me a scar from a little above my butcrack all the way up to the half of my back. I was told the next scar wou

  • i had scoliosis and im 15 and had surgery not a big deal. hurts for the first week in the hospital but thats it ^.^

  • Beautiful!

  • gettin my surgery in 2 and a half weeks. 17 years old hopefully i recover fast. havent been able to play soccer for 2 years. sucks ha

  • 3 months after surgery and just did my first set of push ups,dnt worry guys, just take care the 1st couple of months

  • I am having spinal fusion on the 14 october, looking forward t back being fixed, going to have s1 to l4 fused, wondering how much pain i will have post opp, a little nervous at moment, but thiking positive

  • @kaiwakagirl22 I will be having the same. How is everything going with you?

  • 1:49 sorting hat?

  • i am so sitting properly now,

  • i had this when i was 10 now im 11 the pain be4 the surgery was horrific it felt like i fell of a 60 foot cliff and landed on my back

  • interested in the type of implants used during these procedures? visit us at smart-surgical. com

  • i had this on lower back doc opped on me when i 14 it was crazy sore but out about witnin a week

  • it's easily the worst pain i've ever felt in my life.

  • Don't get this operation unless it is an absolute LAST resort. My Dr. said that it would fix my problem (I had a Tumor, no longer growing, in between my exiting nerve and bone) but after I had the op my pain has doubled. But he assures me that everything is solid and will heal back great and pain free AFTER ABOUT 4-5 YEARS!! Why didn't he say that BEFORE my surgery... I might have thought twice.

  • has this op 12 years ago, before the op i couldnt straighten my back, i had burning pain down the outside off my left leg, the surgery managed to straighten me again which i was well pleased but 12 years on i still have major pain in my back and the burning is still in my leg,

  • To let everyone know. The risk are really slim. My doctor with 30 years of experience had only cases that went wrong and he said it was because of something wrong with him... I don't remember the details.

  • @Fuffuffuffu Great. I feel pretty much the same. I could bend over pick up stuff and twist my back after two to three months. And after December I couldn't feel any difference from before I got it. Still got a scar but I don't really care.

PS: The first day feels really okay because you are really numbed from the anesthesia but the next few weeks are really gruesome. All I did for an entire month was sleep and watch TV.

  • @SaveChinaTiger did you have sponylolisthesis? how old were you? im pretty nervous.

  • @miraclebob6 No it was just scoliosis. I was 16 years old. Don't worry it's nothing to worry about it. The only thing is the pain in the first few weeks and virtual boredom in the first few months.

  • - I had this surgery performed on my three years ago. It was a life changing surgery. Because of my spinal fusion surgery, I can live a normal life. I can no longer play sports like I used to; however, I can walk for miles without any pain. I am a big advocate of Spinal Fusion surgery. It really works!!!

  • @petev23 what sports did you play before this

  • @SaveChinaTiger - basketball and football. I used to play basketball 5 days a week.

  • @SaveChinaTiger - basketball and football

  • It freaking freaked me out when they have to open the front of your neck :)

  • i did this last summer

  • @ChristopherSmith2010 we share in pain -.- we can be pain buddies!!

  • i had this last year when i was 13. twice -_-

    it hurt.

  • @TheEmmington me too... =_=

  • One of my friends is on a wheelchair and he said he got it when he was in Grade 4 but he never tells anyone how He ended up disabled why is that?

  • I could never be a doctor. Even seeing the aforementioned conditions on animation makes me almost throw up!

  • good vid

  • yay 3d to the rescue.

  • Im having this done on Monday at L5/S1 as well as a disectomy. Im only 26 years old, so that kinda sucks. Not looking forward to it really, but I cant put up with the pain anymore! Will post back afterwards to see what the result is!

  • I am 19 days post spinal fusion......The post pain is almost gone......The pain before the procedure was intolerable.....They went through the front, I have all my movement back....I can bend over , I can sit forward now.....Yes there is post pain, feels like you got kicked in the tail bone about a hundred times, the pelvic felt the same for two weeks. I walked five miles six days post surgery.........

  • Interesting video and very interesting comments too. I have osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine (L4-L5). It has caused me pain for 11 years and I take diclofenic, dihyrdacodeine, tramadol, Gabapentin etc daily.

I was offered suregery to fuse the lower spine a couple of years ago. After talking it through I could not leave the consultants office quickly enough. He told me there was abouit a 20% chance of improvement (not cure). All that pain and immobilization and it might get worse? No thanks!

  • @Caughtinazip

I have the same condition as you and take the same medication. I am tired of having lower back pain everyday and my quality of life sucks. I am going for the surgery, cheers.

  • I'm good on this. No thanks. I'd rather live with minor scoliosis and see a chirpractor and get the spinecor brace when i happen to spend m life savings

  • lol i had this done last year for scoliosis. it was so painful afterward, but it was still bearable. the results are so worth it though. don't be scared if you need to get it done.

  • I'm going to unfortunately have to go through this at a young age and am not looking forward to it but am going to do it. For those of you that worry it's normal but get it done. My aunts best friend didn't do it and now it's beyond the point where they will actually do the procedure and she lives in immense pain daily. This isn't something that you want to put off. Get it done while you can and you'll live a much better life for it.

  • I had a fusion on may 12 at l4-l5-s1....best decision I ever made. I walked, not ran, a 5K race 1 month after surgery.

  • Lol. Im just laughing at peoples comments and how they express themslelves, "Little pain? no, A LOT OF PAIN"

  • i just had my second back pain surgery! expect a little pain afterwards is a joke!!!! it should say you will be in so much pain afterwards you might want to scream!!!! you cannot even move sideways bend down or even stretch your hands out! did you see what happens? they just cut some of your bone out, you think thats not gonna hurt

  • A Little pain? NO A LOT OF PAIN after the surgery

  • @rexerexer66 what kind of surgery

  • @rexerexer66 whaat was your procedure like

  • @kingmj232323 they took a hudge chunck of my tibia out to help with the alighment of spine and other things that I can't remebere

  • @rexerexer66 damn man im getting my surgery on my lower back im fucken scared

  • @kingmj232323 Listen dude If I did it you can do it OK?

  • @kingmj232323 Listen dude If I did it you can do it OK? Still scared ask me more questions

  • @rexerexer66 a shit load of pain after

  • -doctor-

  • yes, yes, i see now, hmmm.

  • ahh im getting shivers down my spine wen i watch this!

  • Yikes!

  • Watching these videos are so painful

  • Loved the "some pain is expected" part.

Pains got to be ... beyond words.

    Awesome animation ;)

  • wow nice vid.

  • Some pain is expected... No shit, shirlock. p.s. Amazing video

  • Medicine is so amazing.

  • awsome animation

  • 1:50 made me shudder. My uncle had this exact surgery after he was in a car accident about 2 years ago. But I think the new bone that grew did something it wasn't suppose to do and he has to go back in for surgery.

  • Yes, that fractured vertebra looks worse - as in messier and more painful - than near any other animation I have seen.

  • cool :D
