Well submission is proven to be one of the most effective styles of fighting, if not the most effective. And any style is useable in the fights but its all about who you're fighting and how good of a fighter you are. Even if the style is proven practical, problem is in an actual fight it is almost impossible to stay in form and continue that "animal style" most fights in streets or even in tournaments turn into a straight brawl. Watch a video where 2 fighters HAVE to stay in form,

@daTruChosen You gotta remember something though.People of the world made these types of fighting to fight people usually in their own land so you would probably have two Chinese fighters using animal styles in the ancient times.Im pretty sure when the guy that made ( animal name ) style, they werent thinking of what they need to do vs say ( other style from another country ).If you did judo you train with judo students for example.Same thing with other types of fighting.

They work in fights because they are not predictable and they think of striking areas that boxing and MMA doesn't think of. Animal styles break bones. What does MMA do? Role on the ground after learning many martial arts? Pfft.
@daTruChosen the thing about martial arts movies is that they make the moves a lot more flashy well because its a movie and a damn good one haha. Im sure Jackie could take someone in RL just sayin
