the pick is a tool for the musician and if he/she chooses to use the pick for their respective instrument then who the fuck are you to say it's wrong. Picking, finger style, slap, tapping...all of those are right so stop with the negativity and just play music....damn!

I don't think any instrument should have limits to what you can play on it. If people want to play rock style solo's on the bass then why not? Bass shouldn't be just limited to funk/slap style or anything else.

I agree..........don't be so critical on how bassist hit the notes. This was very nice. Dave elefson of megadeath played an amazing bass solo with his pick that sounds soooo much better than fleas bass solo. And I'm a pro bassist who has toured the world and plays with his fingers.

no, fingerstyle is alot different than using a pick in every way. not better just different. i play fingerstyle, and i used to bash pick players, but a good pick player is usually just as impressive as a good fingerstyle player.
Does anyone know something certain about Mr. Jacob's amp? On his site he sais he uses a Bass Rockman, but i cant find that nowhere online - who manufactures that? What is the exact type? Please, if you know something, share it :)
Marcel Jacob is an awesome, awesome bass player - really is similar to electric guitar, but its awesome, and his very own bass-style truly it is. harmonic grooves and heavy rushes with all the funk (rock) a Fender can offer.
