Windows Movie Maker Tutorial: Slow Speed, Fast Speed, Split Frames

Hey I already knew how to slow things down and all but is there any effect that you know of that I can get it to be REALLY slow and it doesn't lag? Almost like twixtor but free.

@ICExCOLDxGAMING that'a a good question. I would like to say that there isn't an effect like that in the XP version, but maybe in the windows 7 version? If not, usually the better programs, the ones that cost money, have the higher-end effects.

if you have the wrong format of video, then movie maker won't allow you to use it. you need the right formats. I think it accepts .avi, .wmv, uncompressed, not sure about anymore.

put all those pictures in movie maker. in the order you want. then select the whole group of pictures and use the video effect.

well, if u watched the whole video, yes there is a way. You cut the clip using the Split Frame tool, and split the clip where u want to use the certain effects.

How come speed up & slow down affect clips after the one that I applied it to? I apply speed up to a clip just to rush through it but when it hits the following clip it doesn't stop. I even right click on the following clip to try to remove the effect but there is none to remove. Any ideas?

that does happen sometimes with the XP version, if you have XP. If you have the problem happen to you, make sure you don't save it. And start from the beginning.

I mean, if you have that issue, do not save the file. Because you will not be able to undo it after saving it. As in, you can't fix the problem if you overwrite the file. Just start from scratch if you encounter this issue.

@bindingdeath If i had that problem I would not save as a finished title. If I saved it as a project for whatever reason I could right click on the clip & remove the effect.. I could hit undo if I encounter the problem. Saying to start from the beginnig for this minor inconvenience is not good advice. Unless we are not on the same page, in which case I apologize.
