If you consider the gravity of the economic crisis he inherited, the corporate stranglehold over congress, the threats to the petro dollar and the economic and social structural hazards posed by the dollars global reserve currency status, what it comes down to is the american people are screwed and telling them about it could cause a civil war. @TheWillwillwill I don't know how old you are but I remember when network news was not expected to turn a profit for the networks - it may have been that it was a requirement of licensing. No advertising of pharmaceuticals or for doctors was allowed. Edward R. Murrow and his guys were still influencing a lot, and 60 Minutes was doing a lot to tell the truth about stuff, until more recently.

After LBJ was gone, I came to appreciate his effectiveness, even if he was a bit crude. He had 32 years in Congress to learn how to get things done. Vietnam war: BAD IDEA. Clinton could have been good but the GOP bullied him into submission.

Health care for veterans was free for ALL veterans and compensation for service connected health problems was increased considerably. It was still free for ALL veterans when Carter was president. Only after Reagan got in, did it start costing veterans, and now, even most disabled veterans have to pay part of medical costs at the VA. That's your GOP for you. Haven't vets paid enough already?

No advertising of pharmaceuticals or for doctors was allowed. Edward R. After LBJ was gone, I came to appreciate his effectiveness, even if he was a bit crude. He had 32 years in Congress to learn how to get things done. Vietnam war: BAD IDEA. Clinton could have been good but the GOP bullied him into submission.

@helltrackrider I know LBJ did a lot of good for the veterans who had served the country. Health care for veterans was free for ALL veterans and compensation for service connected health problems was increased considerably. It was still free for ALL veterans when Carter was president. Only after Reagan got in, did it start costing veterans, and now, even most disabled veterans have to pay part of medical costs at the VA. That's your GOP for you. Haven't vets paid enough already?

I find I am much more effective without it; also my wife would not approve, and she would wonder what was wrong with me. I love her and want her to be happy. @brake6000 lincoln tried to print debt free money, but there was no central bank at that time, we still had fractional reserve banking and government debt based banking, which are destructive monetary policies. The fed came in 1913. Andrew Jackson killed the 2nd BUS, but afterwards banks could still do fractional reserve banking. Watch the MONEY MASTERS if you want to know the truth.

@Solowizard Our number one future problem is energy.......we could shrink the deficit by 500 billion every year if we would wean ourselves off of foreign oil......which is what Odumba said he would do during the campaign...specifically....T Boone Pickens is correct....it is not a difficult procedure to switch cars to natural gas.....it will be setting up the infrastructure that will be difficult and expensive at first.....we have enough natural gas to last 100 years
