this is amazing! i just learned about elizabeth1, her life, shekespear, and the renaissance, exactly at the same time as i discover this song. these things are just meant to be. i love regina:):):)
I love too many Regina songs to name an absolute favorite, but this song ranks pretty damn close. If I were to be shown these lyrics for the first time without knowing who wrote it, I could've sworn that Kate Bush or another British artist wrote it. It's pure genius. I really, really hope that Regina rediscovers this song and puts it on her next album. She has so much great material that she never releases, it frustrates me.
What i feel listening to this song I think is what God meant for us to feel when he invented music...i wanna laugh, i wanna cry... you think about everything your life, your future...
Songs like this are Regina's best work, the ones where you can feel her emotion in her voice, and the lyrics. So happy I saw her live last year. Amazing live.
I just learned about the Tudors in my World History class, and Elizabeth especially intrigued me. This is an absolutely beautiful song... and it does the woman proud.
I totally agrre with you...some ppl say that sounds like family come home if played backwards...it make sound like it...but how could she sung it like that? this isn't recorded and produced...it's live...so i really think what you said is what she ment....
Gosh I LOVE this song!!! to me it's the most powerfull one she has made and I have heard almos ALL of ther songs....more than once...and head this one tons of times!!! IT"S AMAZINGG!!!
@BoookChild I agree... I think it makes sense, cause she's probably talking about Elizabeth I of England, "the virgin queen"... That would explain the headless mother, the heartless father, Shakespeare...
this should be on her new album!

I really hope she gets back to this song... since there's only one recording, and it's live. She should definitely put it on an album.

England, England, never forsake me
Won't you take me to have and to hold
I can hear the voice rising up
The virgin queen...
