If my fellow ELVIS fans would like to help me organize to win the next popularity poll please ask for my e-mail address. I've had enough with the Michael Jackson victories.
Jeez, buncha old codgers here. You know, the old codgers of Elvis' time said the same things about him too. Careful not to break a hip while chasing kids off your lawn.
@punk1nbuddy Artists in ELVIS' time didn't use suggestive lyrics and semi-nude women in their videos and on the front of their albums and call it music.
@donn409 Oh, I hear ya. It just cracks me up to see praise for Elvis framed in complaints instead of just celebrating the music. Especially considering the criticism of Elvis back then. Ironic. This is great stuff. I love it. But loving this doesn't have to go hand in hand with a criticism of modern music, of which there is a lot of really fantastic stuff as well.
@punk1nbuddy I'm not calling for a ban on any type of music but I do believe that if there are enough fans of the "older" music that it should have the same chance on the charts as the new stuff. The fact that ELVIS continues to draw huge crowds year after year proves that he still sells big.
@punk1nbuddy What's up dude, now I don't know how old you are but I'm 30 and I love Elvis.I love music(period).Any kind, any time. The fact that I wasn't even born before Elvis died shows the legend behind the music. So try and not be so rude. One day you'll look back at the music you loved and you probably wouldn't want someone saying hurtful things to you.Peace.
@mommastcb Me too. That's why I wasn't insulting Elvis. Nor was I bellyaching about how horrible modern music is. I was, however, making fun of some of the commenters here sounding like grumpy old men. Sorry if I came across as rude. But honestly folks, let's take a note from the King and loosen up a bit.
Lovely dance they are doing called the Twist. Wish that dance would come back. I would rather dance the twist and listen to this kind of music instead of listening to snoop dog and to Lady Gaga and dancing like a street dog with no morals.
@calihartley2010 I understand where you're coming from. Popular music has been taken over by no talent maggots and roaches. Why do people think so many people are depressed and bored today? It's because they've turned away from REAL music and God. Gaga ripped her name off from a Queen song. Snoop Dog has no imagination. Where did he come up with a name like Snoop Dog anyway?
@donn409 I know what you mean. Snoop dog is like a dog. So thats maybe he got such a stupid name. Nothing classy in that horrid name. If you compare the crime statistics today and 50 yeard ago you will find that it is more today than 50 years ago. So it was a great mistake in letting liberals have their way, even though they did have some good social reform ideas that went overboard.
@calihartley2010 If rock and pop was at the top of it's game like it was from the 1950s to the 1980s people like Gaga and Snoop Dog would have no careers. It's the truth. Politcal correctness is garbage and I will have no part of it.
@donn409 How true. Even though I like music from 50s,60s and 70s music from the 80's too did not have sexual lyrics. Snoop dog and lady Gaga would have been pounded with tons of rotten eggs and tomatoes if they lived in those good times. It is a lesson for everyone that being PC and catering to the whims of immoral people will only destroy civilization. I too do not like PCness and I encourage people to say Merry Christmas instead of Happy holidays. I am gald that people like you exist.
@calihartley2010 I have a solution to the problem. If the politically correct want their way we should split the country in half. The politically correct can live on one side and God fearing people on the other.
@donn409 Oh yeah i know what you mean, but liberals will start howling if this is even proposed and you are right it is all their fault that good music like this is in the toilet.
@calihartley2010 Liberals have turned me into a Republican. I'm very seriously thinking about voting Republican in the next Presidential election. I'm going to exercise my rights as a free thinker.
@donn409 Welcome to the real word. glad you switched. We need more like you. because i don't know about you but that hope and change ain't working out.
Lovely song. Like the women dancing. They had such beautiful figures and could dance well without exposing themselves or going too far. They had such a nice sensual way of dancing that did not involve vulgar moves or borderline nudity. Young girls of today please learn from these women and dress and behave decently. Then you will have men that respect you and will not treat you like whores. The world woule be a better place if people behaved very decently and sang songs without vulgar words.
Elvis could sing, dance, anything. He was also the only person I've heard called both pretty and handsome. Michael Jackson, Boy George and Prince were pretty but Elvis covered all the bases. Damn, I'm jealous!
@Zecalran I'll tell what impressed me most about ELVIS' movies. They taught that love and friendship was the most important thing in the world. Those ideals like ELVIS will live forever.
I am so lucky to be an Elvis fan.Look at the way he twist and the voice, he can melt the mountain, not just move it. I love Elvis to death. What a handsome man he is.
the songs they made him sing were the pits and he would be the first to say it. but, they all earnt him more money than i would ever see, thats why hes the king, rest in peace buddy

Only ELVIS could sing a song like that...I think he had to inhale a little Helium to sing the "Oh I got lucky"part...and Joan Blackman is HOT!!!!
