Saito was not an imperialist, he was a captain in the Shinsengumi.. A shogunate samurai corp. It is rumored that he ended up a police officer after the war but its not conformed. Officially he vanished after the emperor was installed. The only evidence that he survived is on photograph that is said to be him, however it is not confirmed.
yup...but he believed in imperialist..so i termed him as an imperialist and also he sides with kenshin..in the series.. well in wikipedia u can see that he did die of heavy drinking...well ur's is true from other sources.....the 2nd movies..reflections shows u his death
obviously I am refering to the real Saito Hajime not the fiction character in the series. Also if you are speaking technically about Saito in the RK he is never really an imperialist, he is simply works for the imperial government in order to deliver justice to the wicked... Aku Suku Sen
