  • This is my favorite performance of Bach's Italien concerto #1. I listenned to Glenn Gould again for the too manyeth time,... his obsessive technique is like washing your hands til they bleed, in comparison to Tammy Wu bouncing spiritedly through the piece conveying all it's musicallity. Check Tammy Wu at Wilshire for Itln Conc #3

  • Bravo, bravissimo!

  • wow

  • A simply astonishing performance. I have scanned dozens of ":unknown" perfomers playing this lovely piece and this enchanting child outdoes them all. She's reminiscent of Gould ... and at such a young age. Truly amaziing.

To understand the multiple layering in this piece and to be able to achieve that independence of the individual 'voices' bespeaks great talent ... and very fine teaching.

  • I think all of your nit picking comments are ridiculous. She is an amazing 8 year old who did a wonderful job. All of you jealous cats out there- back off because I guarantee you none of you played like this at 8 years of age. Good job Tammy!

  • shes amazing! and that was 3 years ago! i cant even imagine how well she play now! :) i think shes around my age, im 12 and im no where near as good as her! may she play with passion(:

  • she may know how to play piano, but every single pianist in the word is not a musician unless they compose and improvise, this girl can play bach, but she probably couldnt even compose a 2 part invention like i have

  • @witchcraftlord hey... in classical world, interpreter and composer are distinct careers. a great interpreter does not need to compose, and we have several examples of great composers which were terrible -- or at least cold -- interpreters (Ravel, Villa-lobos even Mozart, to name some).

  • @witchcraftlord Whoa thanks for letting all of us know that YOU'VE composed something!!!!!

  • Magnificent, crisp and exciting. A great talent and a great future. Incidentally do Americans not have any other adjective in their vocabulary than 'awesome'?

  • wow, awesome playing

  • Sweet little kid, and awesome talent. Dont forget though the reason that most players play Bach this well is because of Gould. The way she plays it sounds alot like Goulds version. SO never disrespect the MAN.

  • thats not true,

  • i only wonder who the hell needs all these millions of pianists, playing all the same stuff.

  • awsome!!! really good!!!! you're great!!

  • how comes only asian kids play soooo goood!!

  • She may play it a little fast but it sounds very alive and exciting, which is more fun to hear r than Glen Gould's unexicitng version.

  • she is awsome considering the fact she is under 7 !! .. but yeah she doesnt seem to give a proper articulation to the emotion required ... I gues !!

Keep it up Tammy .. I wished i could play like that when i was your age! Enjoying what you play is the key to good music!

  • it is crazy

  • technically flawless

  • i love her

  • Great!5*

  • Great technique but no living, she is too young for this music. Does she have time to play like kids should have to grow up?But! Well done!!

  • Great!

  • Too fast, no articulation or emotion.

  • i totally agree... but surely she has enough time to work on it

  • she has some time to develop emotion later right?

  • it's a child!

  • who said asian robot ?

    i couldnt be more jealous

  • She's so excellent technically....i can hardly wait until she's experienced life and will add more and more artistic nuance to her performance. Congratulations.

  • jaw drop*

  • shes better then me and im like 5 years older then her. this is amazinggg

  • To quote marktech101, "I'm speechless"

  • dude how old is she?

  • she's six and actually goes to my friend's school...i see her at many of my competitions

  • Great!!!

  • I'm speechless.

  • Amazing. How many hours does she practice every day?

  • the way children play music is really interesting

  • "Le génie nest que lenfance nettement formulée, douée maintenant, pour sexprimer, dorganes virils et puissants."

    Beaudelaire

  • I can't believe it...

  • THank you Tammy for making my day/week/month.... It is people like you that make music come alive!

  • She was 8 at the time of the concert

  • O.O she's awesome

  • =D amazing....

  • Che vergogna!

  • She seems aware of what she's playing:that's

fine!! Too many music machines playing around

    (and not only kids...)

  • Wow - impressive!

  • Excellent. It is not generally appreciated that Bach wrote this piece as a finger exercise for children.

Thanks for providing the proper context!

  • bütün şevkimi kırdın aq

  • This is fabulous, Tammy!

  • Damn, I think Bach would be kind of... wtf!! owned!

Amazing feeling for her age, she understand every note she is playing we can see it in her face. Bravo!

  • fantastic! how old is she?

  • unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bem...nunca concordei de dar peça muito pesada para criança, normalmente elas tocam pq são talentosas, mas a peça normalmente não chega a um nívle de exelencia...mas isso não vale para essa menina ela alem de talento tem maturidade musical...parabens!

  • Tammy, you are a wonderful little pianist!

  • Excellent level for this age. Very serious and sure, excellent technique.
