I love how they quote W. Whitman's poem, "O Captain! My Captain" - a poem in which the captain dies at the helm after accomplishing his goal of bringing the ship safely to harbour. Clearly symbolic of what Keating does with the students - falls on his sword, but accomplishes a world change via a paradigm shift in those boys' lives. Love also how the boys who don't stand on their desks hang their heads in shame.
