  • Man, Grace Slick has me drooling here.

  • I haven't seen this in 30 years!

  • i love this stuf and i love this line up but i have always wondered even as a child watching this video back in the day. Why does grace slickk always try to look like a spaced out idiot ,that aint cool she looks like a moron.

  • I love Grace's pout at Mickey at 0:45. Very sultry.

  • we have forgotten what rock really is

  • their best song ever.the trio of songs-jane from 'freedom at point zero'and find your way back and stranger from modern times -jane -the bands anger over slicks temporary departure-find your way back over them being open to her return, and stranger was about her rejoining the band-notice on modern times on the cover it says-introducing grace slick...there is more to this story, but dont want to bore you guys-listen and enjoy...

  • Best overall performance of Starship for me hands down! Drums, Bass, compliment each other.Mickey and Grace compliment each other, and the guitar harmonies with the keyboard are in sync together. Pure Rock and Roll at its best! (Don't know who your talkin to!) Bang, Bang, Bang!

  • grace ainda dava um molho

  • Grace Slick looks here much better than 5 years later...

  • @BeyoTheQ Keep in mind she is 41 in this video.

  • Grace looked like the Bride of Frankenstein, song kicks ass though!

  • Love that signature drum beat. I snuck behind the drum kit at school in Jr. High and learned it. LOL

  • Whenever I saw Starship I always Loved this Rendition, Where Thomas and Slick shone brightest

  • The entire 'Modern Times' album is my favorite!!!

  • Grace smokin' hot. Love the collar. Hurt me.

  • Superb tune with JSS at it's best. Heavy beat, soaring vocals, and ominus warning...

  • Thank you for posting this. Always one of my fav vids & songs. I was mesmerized by Grace Slick in this vid when I was 12, and she's still got me at 42. God bless her.

  • What is there now soon will be shown

Come walk with me through the unknown...

  • BAD ASS GUITAR

  • Is her necklace made out of cigarette lights? LOL

  • still rockin it!

  • I don't usually care for the bride of Frankenstein look but damn Grace Slick is smoking hot.

  • Such a great song but bad video editing...why they don't show Craig Chiquito playing that searing solo is bewildering.

  • Paaaalease no more pics of the pig obama !

  • I think redimato might not be totally without merit here....they were trying to (for the time) be more modern....not taking into account JA's fame...which is a shame...regardless of whoever did it, I LOVE this tune...

  • Also the harmonizing from 4:19 - 4:23 excellent!!

  • @batoloco78. I totally concur. The drums are excellent here. And you really can see how much presence Grace Slick has. She's not afraid of the camera.

  • I find myself singing 'My Sharona' when this song begins. Try it.

  • I've loved this incarnation of the band for 30+ years now...thanks to early MTV (when they played REAL music)!

  • i feel strange

  • This was the first song that turned me on to KROQ back in the 80's in L.A.

  • Greatest bass line ever.

  • awosome band except for we built this city song

  • I don't know but, I thought this song complemented the Airplane because it hauntingly reminded me of Somebody to love

  • ansley dunbar is a great drummer.

  • Indie is not Rock N RoLL, this, this is Rock N RoLL!! Indie is Pussy rock for little pip squeeks who don't know what Rock N Roll is, AC/DC for example, when do we hear bands playing like them or like Jefferson starship? Jethro Tull? All this new crap is just CRAP.

  • Just an awesome band from an awesome time, a lot of Rock 'N RoLL and a lot of healthy, beautiful girls and guys at the beach, surfing, partying, Van Halen, The Police, Journey, The Pretenders, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Micheal Jackson, Santana, Duran Duran, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Cars, Led Zeppelin, the list goes on and on, some were played out and put down, others just kept Kik'n Ass and I hope this kind of Rock makes a comeback and influences youth, Indie is fine but not "Rock".

  • I always push my 2 pairs of pioneer hpm 100 speakers with a mighty pioneer sx 1280 to a awesome incredible high wattage experience at 4:20

  • Those drums sound so heavy.

  • this is tremendous.

  • two people are complete strangers to great classic rock songs

  • Merci!

  • THEIR GREAT

  • This group was truly a Super Group. Musically they always improved. It's hard to find groups with the versitility of Jefferson Starship. Craig Chaquico and Pete Sears remain legendary guitar duo's. You part with a great voice in Marty Balin, but you replace him with equaly talented Micky Thomas. Few if any groups survived the transitions this group did only to get better with each change. They are classic!

  • gal's got great pipes, but I'm not so much into that Bride-of-Frankenstein do

  • A great lost classic ! I can't beleive that no classic rock stations play this song !!

  • @redtimato I think Jefferson Starship is a band punished by the fame of their predecessors Airplane, and have not been forgiven for that. They have top quality songs, but little praised and considered

  • @petrolero0266 very interesting take petro; here in the New Orleans area we occasionally get "Jane" on the (so-called) classic rock station, but that's it. I've often wondered why we get (God help us) U2, but no other real pioneers; you may be onto something

  • @mattanaih That's because their another great overlooked band. People on Classic Rock station's know little about the music of this Era that work their these days, And that's the truth.

  • @petrolero0266 I liked 'Airplane', but was more on the 'Starship' side, as that was my era!

  • @redtimato I play in a classic rock cover band with a female singer, we will play this song in there honer !

  • @redtimato Maybe its guitar rock and actual music ? LOL

  • @redtimato Indeed !

  • @redtimato cuz things suk now , and i mean SUK!!!

  • @redtimato thank the rock gods that a few cincinnati rock stations still love the airplane and the starship....

  • @redtimato I know...whats up with that? What a JAM!

  • @redtimato It's tough to when they play the same 50 songs over and over.

  • @redtimato Maybe one day They'll find their way back.

  • The guitar solo from 3:25 to 4:14 is a masterpiece of musicianship. Years of guitar experience and creative release with sheer energy make that a window of sound to here over and over again!

  • Aynsley Dunbar= Bad Ass drummer

  • loud but no too loud just in case go the police to your home. Try to blame somebody else :)

  • @petrolero0266 But the cops dug my drum playing to this !

  • I hope my neighbores like this song.. ¸.★°

  • saw it live front row and center aweomse

  • Real men play pink guitars!

  • This song was about the future or America!! Its strange isnt it????

  • ooohhhh grace, I love u; you are so hot....

  • 30 Years later still rock's....

  • love a B.C. Rich through a Carvin amp

  • damn you are so hot grace

  • i love what these guys were doing during this time (80s) this , and Jane, , Find your way back.... all this 80s starship was rocking man

  • I remember seeing this video on MTV back in the early days. I totally coveted Craig Chaquico's purple BC Rich Mockingbird.

  • @Kohntarkosz Also like pete Sears' Carvin doubleneck

  • For the record, that's actually Craig's doubleneck. It's actually the same doubleneck Craig plays in the Find Your Way Back video. If I remember correctly, Pete had a white Carvin doubleneck that he used for playing this song live for a couple tours, though by the Knee Deep In The Hoopla era, I think he reverted to playing the song on a regular Strat.

  • @Kohntarkosz correct

  • @Kohntarkosz what kind of guitar did kanter have in th 'find yer way back' vid? was it a dean, carvin,or bc rich? seems familar.

  • Kantner used a red BC Rich Bich 10 string a lot during this era. That's the guitar he's playing in the Find Your Way Back video and also the Wind Of Change video.

  • @Kohntarkosz thanks man

  • awesome video!! just as good as the airplane! just a different flight pattern. I grew up with the JA, but these guys have as much chemistry and originality. miss the eighties rock

  • great song !!!

  • I can remember the Jefferson Airplane from the 60's and I like this incarnation of the band. It was a really cool time in the early eighties and this music was part of the soundtrack.

  • LOVE THIS SONG TAKES ME BACK TO THE GOOD OLE TIMES I WAS ONLY TEN BUT I WAS A ROCKER THANK YOU

  • Totally agreed.

  • Yes. This song is from the time that Jefferson Starship was no longer the shadow of Jefferson Airplane and were themselves as a band. It is excellent.

  • Very nice!
