There`s a way to get rid of those speech balloons on your sim`s heads, you go to the cheat box and type in "ShowHeadlines off" (without the quote).

That's true, although I think if you just have the original game and none of the expansion packs, the cheat doesn't work.

For the green diamond, you just make one extra Sim and keep them out of sight of the camera, with the green diamond over their head whenever you're filming. For the blue oval things, if you use the "move_objects on" cheat, you can just click on those and delete them.

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly, but if the videos you're filming in the game come out small or blurry, you need to adjust the video settings in the game itself. When you're in a sim house, click on the options menu, then the video menu, and choose higher settings.

Well, you just tell them to "run here" or "skip here" and click where you want them to run. Sometimes when I've tried this, one or more of them won't cooperate. But for this shot they all did what they were supposed to!

But to save you the trouble, the only expansion packs I had when I made THIS video were Sims Holiday Edition and Seasons.:)

Also, I just took 6 hours to make a sims family and all, and I video taped some of the things...but when I went to my documents and ea games, etc...It was very small and blurry. Do you know how to fix that? I really hope I did not just waste all that time for it to not fixable!!

It's easily fixable... but sorry to say you'll have to re-film your scenes.

When you're inside a Sims house, hit the F5 key to access the menu, then click on the little icon that looks like a camera. Then adjust the following settings.

Video Capture Size - LARGE

Video Capture Quality - HIGH

You can also choose "High - Uncompressed" for quality, but the files are enormous if you do that and I wouldn't recommend it.

I wish I knew of a way to make it so Sim kids didn't have to school. That was one of my biggest problems when making this video; the kids had to be in school for most of the daylight hours, and if you didn't send them to school, social services would come and take them! Bit annoying.

There's a cheat ("maxmotives") that lets you avoid the "feeding" hassle, but I didn't know about it when I made this video. As a result, most of the kids you see here were taken away by social services during filming. A few weeks ago I was playing the game and I needed more kid Sims for a scene, so I adopted some. Who should arrive from the adoption agency but the poor kids from THIS music video? Ah, the circle of life.

Well, the school problem, you can have them drop out. It doesn't actually matter much! Trust me! I have done it many times before! S) SO yeah. Plus, to keep them happy, 'maxmotives' makes them as HAPPY as can be!

Wow, this is a cool video! Very cute and well done. I have a question if you don't mind. I think I know how the kids would do the other things in the video but how did you get them to run/skip at and then past the camera like that?

No trick to it, really. I started them at one end of the field. Then individually I would tell them "run here" or "skip here" to a spot at the other end of the field (the ending point). The "camera" was a few feet in front of their ending point. So they were still running/skipping when they got to the camera, would go past it to their ending point, then stop (but of course my camera didn't record them stopping.)

The Sims 2 has a recording feature in it. You just click an icon to record and it saves that file to your harddrive. As for other games that don't have that feature? It involves video output devices and stuff; it gets a bit complicated. Sometimes I just put a regular video camera in front of the computer monitor and hit record. Not the best method, but it works.

I think each of the expansion packs has its own advantages; just depends on what kind of stuff you want. Personally "Seasons" is my favorite, because you can have rain, leaf piles, snow, snowmen, etc. But if you want to have a rock band, you need "University;" if you want animals, "Pets," etc.

Yes, Kids of the Future (according to Wikipedia) is based on Kids In America. It's not illegal as long as they (in this case, Disney) got permission from the original writers of the song (Kids In America) or whoever owns the rights to the song. Disney probably paid money for the rights. The people who had the rights were probably like "yay money!" So I'm sure it all worked out. :)
