I was very disappointed after watching this video. The title lead me to believe I was going to see ONE large peddleboard. Not 20 different ones chained together. Whats so bad about Line 6??
@ermonski Buddy, if it works for you and what you do then it's a good setup. I've seen guys on Beale St. in Memphis playing through a DS1 into a crate amp, and he blew me away. It's not always about the tone. Tone is important, but skill and creativity account for about 97% you overall sound.
@ermonski Man, a lot of the greats weren't tone junkies, they just had gear that got the job done. Some guys just went straight to the amp. In the end all that matters is if you have the chops to back up the 1000's of dollars you are spending on gear.
@joshrogers87 I'm quite a minimalist since all I want is a good whole clean tone and heavy chunky distortion and a screaming wah, that's all I want. btw I use a Beta Aivin HM200 pedal and a Morley Power Wah powered by a 1Spot pedal power supply. that's all LOL.
Wouldn't it depend on the player and the material being performed?
I ask because I own three guitars(tele, strat, LP), have a wah, tuner, comp, 2 overdrives, big muff, phase 90, CS9 chorus, flanger and a DL4 delay plus a Radial loop switcher and a a/b box split to either my 1969 Marshall SPL100 or my Boogie Mark IIb combo.
how the fuck are you gonna have like 500 pedals hooked up at the same time... and then just use generic amp brand overdrive! BOOO! Everyone wants to hear him turn on all the pedals and make a sound that would satan's balls drop like potatoes.
actually, will all the Boss junk(buffered, not true bypass) and considering the length of all those unbalanced cables, I'm surprised you can hear anything at all next to white noise.
@CreamyCommotion no it freaking isnt, why are people so negative about line6, believe me, if you say that you havent tried one. they are so awesome! i got the spider IV75 and the IV series doesnt sound that digital as the I, II and III series. man crate sux more than line6 for sure!
i think its fine to have loads of pedals. they just need to be loop to a midi controller and connected using good cables. i don't think there will be any signal loss. we do it all the time in the studio.
If they were sensible, they could use a line selector to bypass everything to a short cable for the clean sounds rather than sending the clean signal through every effect.
I don't know, but what i ASSURE is that all these pedals turned off would be able to easily turn a good old fender or gibson's tone into a fuckin cheap samick's
oh, its just a couple of pedal boards connected to each other, it isnt too difficult to do that. i was expecting like a really hugeass single board like frusciante's board
dude see any big artist studio, like for example in the movie some kind of monster metallica's studio- there are pedals just laying around everywhere, also look at jim root of slipknot, he has a tour of his house on youtube and he has boxes of them.
I will admit i'm exaggerating- not thousands, just a bunch!
ive seen both of those and i can say most of those pedals arent one persons pedals, they are definitely a huge mixture of kirks, james', and bob rocks pedals. i didnt see that much in that jim root video as i remember he had a box and a tiny board in his rehersal room. omar is one man has his own studio and uses alot of his pedals live, you should see his live rig, its huuuuge
i have a dream of watching this guy perform, and rolling a bowling ball across the stage. it would activate at least 12 of his pedals, guaranteed, and fuck up his performance
On the contrary, I hope the pedals are buffered well. True bypass will let the resistance build up, and with a signal path as long as that, it's going to naturally build up resistance, regardless of true bypass pedals.
I just dont get it ? Why would anyone want so many ? You must lose a shit load of signal quality and would you ever use them all? My moto keep it simple ...That said i do use a DD , overdrive and WAH...oh and a loop for jammin to thats 4..one space on my board left ????
Have a bit of reverb on tap built into the amp. I just think the DDELAY is enough for me. Have just forked out on a new guitar so no more puchases for a while at least ,Check ut my link and let me know .I dont know if ime useing too much dd or maybe its just personal taste
well i would say if you are set on the reverb, you should look into another overdrive maybe or a heavier distortion. That way you can have one for a lighter overdrive and a distortion for some higher gain solo/lead stuff.
thats youre opinon some people like lots and lots of effects if everyone stuck to what you said then evryone would be sounding the same not musicly but in tone terms.
