All the differences I see involve it having originally been more complex. It's a good thing they decided to change that. Also this whole 'ORE' thing explains why they would make an almost impassible terrain.
@PoohunterGames lol no, but there is a released alpha version of this game. This is the demo, and first mission of WC2 Human campaign. Pretty sure you know that already tho but yeah, those burps weren't in the game lol
@vibezor Try Warcraft 2: BattleNet Edition, it's made for Windows instead of DOS. The demo is for DOS, along with the original Warcraft 2 and its expansion. Only BattleNet edition is for Windows.
I always thought that AOE was the first game to have four kinds of resources. I'm impressed that WC II had it planned first...

I liked this alpha more than the final game, somehow I never liked in the final game the absence of the ore as a material to harvest.
Ore was used mostly for building structures and catapults , etc.
