I highly reccomend reading the graphic novel. It goes into even greater detail into every character, even the supporting ones. Good to see people can appreciate it just for a great piece of film making. :)

sorry 4 the swear, n this is purely out of curiousity, but... HOW (or when) THE FUCK DID YOU GET BORED?!! I just don't get it... I mean even for ppl who hadn't even heard about the graphic novel before the movie (my sister n I) were on the edge of our seats geekin out almost rediculously at how amazing every part of that movie was! By the end it didn't seem long enough.

Yeah, I went to go see it with my friends: I totally hated it and ranked it near bottom of my movies list, but some of my friends who're fans of the comic liked it - they too mentioned how accurate it was.

As for me, if you didn't read the comic, the movie fails to create audience sympathy with and for the characters. And sitting through 3 hrs w/o it is REALLY hard.

Visually (especially the noir-esque sequences) it was stunning.

But, there's one fluke in Dr. Manhattan's animation at one point

lies n sheer bull. my sister n I didn't even know about the graphic novel before we saw it n we were running through nearlly every freakin emotion we had, plenty sympathy for nearlly every single character... especially Dr. Manhattan, n Rorschach (which were amazingly "born for those rolls"). hmmmm thats odd, i went to see it was so good and brilliant it made me buy the book i thought that the visual effects difinitely show what modern technology can do. the sotry itself was solid, with no boring, or unnecessary parts in it at all.

it is definitely a movie for all those sci fi and comic geeks out there(me including)

I also thought that if you had read the book, and if you hadn't, it didnt matter because if you can respect a movie on its own, then it will be good either way. I cried

This review bought back some memories of when we would do reviews and theme park stuff..These are easy vids, I made this one in 15 minutes..Therefore when they dont do well, it's no problem..Yet, RUINS END took 3 weeks for footage and editing..That was the reason I really wanted it to do well..

Oh well, Im proud of the overall performance of all three together..And it gave me the experience to jump into our project=)

Dave lent me the book "Watchmen" a few years back. I thought, I don't know if I can read this, its been awhile since I read comic books and you have to get your mind set to look at pictures while reading the words. But I was pleasantly surprised, I loved it. I read it every night until I was finished. And you know how thick that book was.

Well, the reviews are definitely mixed so far, I've heard it was terrible and I've heard it was amazing. My daughter saw it today and said it was very good, but very long and very graphic. I'll probably catch it on DVD later... I found the graphic novel at the library awhile back, and started to read it, but it was so violent that I found it difficult to enjoy. But that's just me, I love the classic comics of the Silver Age and Golden Age, more innocent times I guess. Anyway, great review! :)

forrest how the hell do you manage to even walk in the theater with a camera let alone record for sometime inside the theater? shit when i walk in with my backpack i get checked half of the time. lol. anyways i enjoyed the movie. it was a bit of a let down for me as i expected more out of it and it isnt an excellent translation or transition of the comic to the silver screen, but it still does watchmen justice, but thats just my take on the film.
