If your fat then your fat. If your offended by yourself for being fat then other people are gonna look at you the same way. A lot of people make fun of skinny people too calling them tooth picks. there is nothing wrong with being fat besides health problems but If you dont like being fat and feel offended by the truth then just loose the fuckin weight and suck it up. There are people going through a lot worst than "pie eating" disorders.
I can totally identify with some of what she said. When I was 14 or 15, I was overweight. I didn'y know untill the school nurse just looked at me and said I was fat. I was 20 lbs overweight and it completely changed how I saw myself.
I have a torn rotator cuff, push ups hurt. I have a knee that I have to replace, squats hurt. I'm 150 pounds overweight at 5'7" and 40 y/o but I'd rather suffer the pain of working out than the indignity of blaming others for my own state of existence.
If she wants to be a victim instead of putting down the cheeseburger, fine, but she shouldn't classify the rest of us along with her.
Look it's fine for big people to embrace themselves but some fat people keep telling themselves "Only what's on the insides matter" and keep trying to give themselves that it's okay while they keep putting on the pounds. It gets to a point where it's not healthy. Where it can damage your body. When you're a fat person but you're still healthy it's fine but for people that are morbidly obese it's time to stop. 30 pounds is a HUGE number, it is a lot of extra weight and she treated like it was not
I have respect for EVERYONE regardless of shape, color, etc., but I don't know why some people who are overweight or obese consider themselves handicapped. I hate it and it is ridiculous. They are not disabled!
I think skinny pretty woman should go incognito as a morbidly obese women to educate themselves. "Don't judge someone till you walk a mile in their shoes" I agree.
At the end of the day, the fat suit can come off. Seriously, I'm not upset that people try to empathize. I don't remember the last time I got joked at or look at for being big. Granted I've shrunk down from 230 to 155. So, I definitely look a lot thinner.
I just think it's a stupid idea to try to pose as something you're not. I can't go around being thin, so why should they have the privilege of being fat, and think it's such a miraculous thing that they feel bad.

I thought you haad to be 100lbs. overweight to be morbid obese? That lady saying that people in a wheelchair are similar to obese people is a terrrible thing to say! People in a wheelchair cannot get fixed, fat people have options! You could diet or go to a doc for help. go wendy! gay people face a similar problem. there are very few "out" celebs because they "still want to work." for some reason, there is a general belief that audiences won't believe a gay man/lesbian playing a heterosexual lead role. and yet, in tv and films, we have such a HIGH percentage of straight men playing gay roles - and somehow that flys. then the straight actor is COMMENDED for taking such a riske part
I completely agree with your opinion on the fat suits and the harrassment that does go on, BUT i don't agree that we are "handicapped" I for one do not consider my weight a handicap.

Fat people remind of goldfish, so driven by the impulse to eat that they will consume enough food to the point of death if you overfeed them. Stop eating and apply that time to something like exercise.
Its called a Mocumentary you fucking fat bitch Mocos are a great movie style these days it's a great way to get throught to people, who care if there actors, and fat suits are fine why do even care holy shit you loser !!!
Handicapped? Hmmm... I will admit to a lot of things about myself....but I cannot call myself handicapped. I am lucky to live a lifestyle in an area where my exposure to ignorant people is limited. Therefore, I am treated better than many others in my weight class.
I like this lady, she's smart and active. I have a very close friend who is very much overweight and I have seen her struggle, I have seen her happy and being brave and facing the world, but as she got older her health declined. Stomach bypass is no picnic and I hope to God she makes it through this. Please do not make fun of these wonderful people.
Finally..your the first person to ever say this...IT IS NOT HEALTHY!!! people aren't being cruel...being fat is an eating disorder that can KILL you!!
Who gave that lard ass a job? Las Vegas= skinny people making money off lard asses. Hookers; fat johns, buffets; lard gamblers, porno; lard internet kids.
I have to agree that the obsession thin actresses have with playing larger people is kind of disturbing. In my opinion it only contributes to the problem instead of helping it. Kudos to them for wanting to know, but it's more than knowing that changes things. Everything else I have a little bit of a problem with but the overall message is satisfactory.
At least the skinny actors are getting some form of an idea of what it's like being fat. My problem with the people in the fat suits is much like my problem with people playing handicapped roles. They aren't encompassing the problems behind the weight problem/handicap problem. From my standpoint audience reacts to the handicapped character not as a strong person but in pity.Much like they view all fat people as lazy. Just my 2 cents.
I accept your main point here: thin actors in fat suits is absurd. So is cruelty in all of its manifestations. You're a remarkably articulate speaker; much respect to you.
Look at the bright side...both sides are getting hit now instead of just one. The sickly skinny are laughed at, pointed out, and looked down upon as well. Something we all have to face is that the issue will never go away. There will always be someone you come across in your life that will point out your flaws to make themselves feel better. Five stars to you Wendy!
... I just want to say for many people skinny or fat people weight is a big issue and people do struggle with it a lot so please don't make all those harsh comments because we are all dealing with it and we are all human... Often the harsh words/comments/judgements we have gotten just make things harder... Just please try to understand...
Yeah the poor challenges and trials of these people who could do NOTHING to fix their "horrible disability" causing them to be picked last on teams in school. Could you be so ignorant as to think a person in a wheelchair wouldn't put his fucking blood sweat and tears into walking again if it was even a remote possibility? All you'd have to do is eat real food and maybe actually walk.
You have got to be shitting me. The doctor is a bad person for saying 30 pounds "overweight" is morbidly obese, so that somehow means gain 80 more? Try a fucking reality check, being a lazy slob wanting everything handed to you because you have no self-discipline is NOT the same as having a legitimate problem such as really being handicap or in a wheel chair.
I think that people have lost sight of the fact that being large is often the result of underlying problem causing an eating disorder - same as with anerexia- which gets sympathy...fat people get no compassion.
Still, I'm not going to lose weight because of a couple crazies. If I lose weight, it'd be because I'm unhealthy, and I'm not.
