  • I freaking love the way they sing the oooos!!

  • u can here the remasterd song flobbing in and out of the song

  • I think we can all safely say, for the rest of eternity, there will never be another band quite like the Beatles :)

  • They really passed the audition on that day. I may have seen, but I had just turned 4, so I don't remember if I did. Nice that we can still enjoy it now..

  • Ok, so this is it?

  • this should be the most viewed video on youtube.

  • @jdeanxo your right but this world is unfortunatly filled with ignorance

  • I get chills watching this

  • The benchmark for all eternity, but someday there will be someone that will hit the next level. I was there when this happened and hope I'm there when the next benchmark it set.

    Willie

  • THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL !

  • jhon y ringo nervous.....

  • i saw standing here ,ok

  • amazing beatles forever,i having on vhs

  • :,( I am crying caise i miss The Beatles so much, AND I WASN'T EVEN ALIVE THEN!!

  • lol ringo

  • Pauls vocal range was so so insane what a voice! my icon much!

  • Paul is always so happy!! Every time they preform it makes me smile!!!!!!! :D :D

  • its sad that their is only 1 guy in crowd

  • lol!! john-- sorry girls, he's married!

  • some of the girls look so funny!!

  • good audio

  • this is history

  • 1:39.

  • No you weren't. We had to wait years between albums. You can get them all right now.

    Enjoy.

  • @Kupcho58 Yeah, but while you were waiting you got to listen and dance and enjoy all their music together with your friends. Amongst my crowd, all they care about is dubstep and hip-hop. Ecch.

  • I was born in a bloody wrong generation...

  • ..."sorry girls, he's married" - John just laughs it off and get back to work...awesome!!

  • Wow, that is something at 4:12

  • I'm jealous of every single person in that audience, even the ladies :P

  • all i can say is the beatles are amazing

  • I swear that Ed says in the first 5 seconds "newspape" and hundreds of "photog from all over the nation" .....could it be that he was nervous because the Beatles were on or was he saying something that was hip to all of the media that I'm not aware of??

  • Yes, believe it or not, TV was broadcast in MONO at the time this originally aired- and the network wasn't telecasting ANYTHING in color. Sullivan's major competition, "WALT DISNEY'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR" ["The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh", part one of three], was in "Living Color" on NBC. Yet, guess what more viewers watched on February 9, 1964?

  • I would leave this generation for that one! Thumbs up if u agree

  • And this seeing moments like these make it all the more sad that people of my generation didn't know who Paul McCartney was when he played out the Grammy's last week.

  • Imagine the poor slobs who had to follow that !

  • I always watched Ed Sullivan with my parents every week....I had no idea The Beatles would be on...I'm so thankful that I actually witnessed this broadcast. The next day on the school bus was unbelievable! EVERYBODY was singing "She Loves You"!!

  • Is the girl @ 01:09 having an orgasm?

  • Comment removed

  • Those first three thongs...

  • I wish it was 1963. I am sick of the crap of today. Who gives a shit about cell phones.

  • In the bottom right corner below the video: "Artist: The Beat-less"

    WAT?

  • @panther0567 It dosen't say nothing there...

  • QUIEN ES EL LOCO QUE PUSO "NO ME GUSTA" ESTA LOCO JAJA BEATLES FOREVER !

  • Parents woke my sister and I to watch this. They say its a historical event. They're correct

  • @strongcoffeelive You have wise parents. You're lucky you were alive back then.

  • George @ 9:15 = Awesome.

  • No dislikes, how it should be.

  • :megusta:

  • The Beatles alter the course of yet another life.... I'm officially done letting my friends drag me to dubstep clubs every week to pretend I enjoy "dancing" to a bunch of terrible noise.

  • Harrison makes those guitar fills seem so easy.....

  • Great video of a life changing memory. I knew then how I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Was a long time ago but I always thought they began the first set with " I Wanna Hold Your Hand" followed by "She Loves You" then 'I Saw Her Standing There." The rest in the second set. Guess the memory's getting hazy.

  • It was 5 minutes after 8 p.m. on a Sunday night 48 years ago today, and Ed Sullivan did it! The world has never been quite the same. "The Boys" were absolutely fab and always will be.

  • @BeautyoftheYear They literally changed the world.

  • The stars were aligned that night and the world changed forever. It was pure magic. Beatles 4-ever!

  • the girls at 4:16 are all sexed up and look like they're going to devour the group with their eyes.

  • I love Georges solo in Til There was you it so classy and beautiful. Long live the Beatles!!

  • 48 years ago today. Hard to believe.....I was 6 at the time and my mom let me stay up to watch it...still sounds beautiful....

  • Paul McCartney was in Hollywood today to accept his star on the Walk of Fame.

  • look at the music today. nothing can compare to what we had in the good ol' days. Live on with the beatles!

  • 48 years ago..im watchin this over and over again....

  • paul was a pig in the beatles and practicaly stole the band. nobody ever talks about the leaflet included in his first solo album announcing his departure. that was the bad blood made.

  • My dad used to make us watch Ed Sullivan growing up in the small mining town of Morenci AZ. he wanted us exposed to the Art of Entertainment. He just smiled and nodded as he listened. The kids were happy and excited and thats what he called a good thing. Thanks Dad.

  • did they sing all the same songs on each show??? that was about all they had at the time

  • 1:27 George on guitar, 1:39 Paul and George in harmony, sold it to me!!!

  • The most amazing 13 minutes ever!

  • 48 years ago today. thank god for the beatles.

  • love this!! especially how they keep going song after song....i've watched it 3 times already

  • 9:21, George looked like he was having fun for somebody that just got over the flu! Lol!

  • 48 years ago tonight.....

  • I did NOT watch the first 2 shows (WHAT was I thinking?) but when I did see them on their third appearance, I was hopelessly hooked as well! RIP, John & George......

  • (Feb-9-2012) 48 Years Ago Today The World Changed by "Four Lads who Shook the World" I remember watching this as a 12 Year Old

  • 200th like.

    Heh :P

  • I was 13 when this happened. I watched this and the next two shows. They have been etched in my mind. I remember my parents watching with me and my two older sisters. I said to myself, rock and roll has changed forever....I was right. I knew they were the real thing. Love them to this day. If you ever get the chance, see 1964, the Tribute..it is the best Beatles tribute band, bar none. Google them...they're the best.

  • therres a reason y this doesnt have any dislikes- NOTHING IS BEATLE-PROOF

  • i just watched the youtube video of the STONES greatest american concert during the brian jones era. i love the BEATLES but the STONES were definately better live

  • I love the fab four they are one of Britians B-E-S-T bands of all time

  • @myoldbrownshoe Oh yes, those crazy "Macca" fans "pulled something" so they could make "Macca" look better on an internet forum. LOL... John's the Best, Wooo Hooo....

Feel better now Big Boy???? You're a complete asshole.. 42 my ass, you act like you're about 10.

  • @myoldbrownshoe Actually, they "raised" the level of John's vocal. If you ever listen to the unmastered version which was broadcast, Lennon's vocal is WAY down in the mix.

And Also - Please also refrain from naming the "best" Beatle. You sound like an ignorant fanboy trying to start an argument on an internet forum.

  • 9:16 epic scream is epic

  • The level of historical significance is too damn high!

  • 6:18, John shoots George a look like..."can you f-ing believe this?" Great stuff, thanks for posting.

  • Singing isn't 100% accurate

  • @rockyjnr10 yeah they were human, who knew?

  • Can someone tell me the name of every song?

  • @4BeansinaCan you're kidding...

  • Can't stop watching

  • Never heard it like this before! Fantastic Turn it up and you feel like you're in the theater with them....Some incredible memories...

  • Incredible quality, mate! Thank you so much for posting! :D

  • 13:03 akwaaaaaaarrrdddd

  • Great video thanks for up loading. Love how Paul sing All My Loving & Till There Was You it makes me sigh & he is kissable & huggable. Gals do you not agree? I also love hearing these gals screaming ya can tell their true blue Beatle fans. Long live The Beatles & their music and

    Beatles forever.

    Cheers:

    Critty200

  • 48 yrs I have remembered the names were shown; this is the first time I have seen this particular version with the names on screen...I knew I saw them....thanks for this video..

  • this sunday night was the night the world changed forever!

  • 5:47 every girl lost her virginity

  • best Q awesome buddy

  • AMAZING! thanks matee

  • It seems a bit unfair that they didn't play any songs with John as the lead. But still, it's a great performance

  • I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THIS O_O <3

  • im 13 now. ladies and gentlemen The Beatles!!! and hopefully a time machine

  • 4:15 "Soon..."

  • This is one of the greatest live performances in history.

  • no one can or could match them, amazing.

  • The five most important words in Rock History were said on the show, 'Ladies and Gentlemen, The Beatles'.

  • Is it bad that I cried all the way through this

  • You did some AMAZING job on this video, thank you so much! I'm right now writing a paper on the rock music history and I just finished writing the chapter on The Beatles - incredible to write about how they managed to get into that show by total accident and then be able to watch it... I was certain though that the first song they would play would be the one that started all of this - I want to hold your hand. Also, I love the audience's reaction!

  • thanks for this man, appreciate it :D

  • It always makes me so happy to see such pure innocent joy, pleasure, and happiness happening at one time in one place. Was a very special time.

  • @castletriglav what the hell is your problem?first of all, George was an amazing musician and you are being incredibly racist towards Hindus, it's a beautiful culture and religion and you should really just leave if you have a problem with this.

  • LOL @ 3:32 "Sorry girls, he's married"

  • I see someone took the time to do some tedious spectral extraction work on the audio and make it fairly decent stereo.

  • The Greatest Band Of All Time. End Of Story.

  • Justin Bieber wasn't the first one to have fangirls fawning over him.

  • @iamdabomb18

He certainly hasn't got the talent that these guys have either, Justin Bieber will be like the Jonas Bros. this time next year-forgotten!

  • 3:12 I love the way he smiles at the camera.

  • Remember this well as millions of others that night, I was all of 7 yrs old at the time. Our family had just moved into our new home the week before, our parents had a house warming party the night of this show. All my aunts and uncles were over, I remember my aunts saying "we have to see the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show!" so it was a memorable evening to say the least. A great interesting side note is that people were so caught up in watching this that there was no crime in NYC that evening!

  • I`m positive the Beatles had no idea at this point in time, the effect they had on American Youth! The only group to ever have changed history..They truly were Gods!

  • i love the close ups of ringo ahaha

  • When I watch videos like these, and read of the nostalgia that is evoked from the people writing the comments, I am humbled by my age and think less of my own nostalgic memories.

    What is a great time?

Is it a great event? Or is it a happy memory?

  • And as all the Musicians already know, monitors are crucial to a good perfomance, and The Beatles had none at the time! I am particularly impressed with their Stadium perfomances!!! :)

  • The Beatles are perfect.

  • Dollars, Pounds, is all that really matters - and let no one tell you different. I admire Macca, I feel sorry for GH and JL, but the real winner is Richard Starkey - multi-millionth punt in the bank, and all he has to do is shave his goatie once a week. All hail the Starr.

  • Peerless in their time and today, a half century later, STILL peerless. As the years go by, their legend only continues to grow.

They were titans, and the musical legacy they left behind will stand forever.

  • Tthankyou so much for posting. It really gave me a jolt of emotion, because I don't think I've seen it since I saw it live at age 14. Calypsojimmy is exactly right. Everyone watched this. Practically everyone already tuned in to Ed Sullivan on Sunday night anyway, but if they didn't, they watched this to see what the fuss was about. I wonder what the ratings were?!

Remember, President Kennedy had been assassinated 2 1/2 months earlier, so this was a tremendous lift that the country needed.

  • 13:03 DENIED!

  • The legend of them has overshadowed how tight they really were. Especially from 62-65.

It had to be a product of them playing 8+ hour sets in Germany every night. John didnt get any lead vocals on this show.

George is completely underrated. I love how Ringo plays 1/8 and 1/16 notes with 1/2 the arm motion on yhe hi hat, he slaps his wrist....very cool

Coincedentally, this is one of the only visuals you will get of them without John and Ringo smoking!!

  • George's solo is just freakin' incredible.

  • My my, how the girls react to Paul's singing

  • 3:43 <----- Soem bitch is screaming "Ringo" ..... George Harrison is right there, he's the superior Beatle.

  • @mahavishnuxc Harrison sucked, especially after he got into that sandnigger religion.

  • @castletriglav why dont you go fuck off you racist piece of shit

  • Wow what a band what an era

  • my favorite part is when they finish the set and just drop all their stuff on the floor ha

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing

  • 09:20 - 09:41

    Best part!

  • Sorry girls, he's married.

  • its just a shame the beatles were,nt in the video era or dvd era u would be able to get this in your house the recording equipment reels of 64 were the size of a fridge freezer

  • way back my father went upstairs to bed saying "I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO

    ANY GOD DAMN BEATLES"

yEAH, DAD BUT WE DID WE WATCHED - AS JOHN, PAUL, RINGO AND

GEORGE ROCK ON JOHN AND GEORGE NOW IN ROCK N ROLL

    HEAVEN

    justavideo1000 PerCent

  • Oh man this is great, thanks for uploading.

  • Thank goodness for that name recognition thing. LOL

  • 1:28 George Harrison. Like a Boss.

  • grandioso.

  • This is great but kinda a bummer that I lost the stereo effect in the middle of she loves you.

  • Wow the impact the beatles had at that time really blows me away

  • You know I was 12 when this was real-time. Back then I did not know anyone who did not watch this ... all my friends, family, teachers, preachers, etc. The pre-show buzz was unbelievable. it was IT, and to this day I still have not encountered a media frenzy larger than this one. I cannot imagine what people who were not-around to tune in to Ed Sullivan on Sunday night 2/9/1964 might think of it now... perhaps it seems pretty tame, but in reality it sure was not. AWESOME video. Thanks!

  • @calypsojimmy You're are so lucky to have lived through this time period! I'm a 90's baby so i was born a little too late =(

  • @calypsojimmy I was 4 years old in 1964 (11-11-1959) and I remember watcing every appearance The Beatles made on Ed Sullivan, as if it were yesterday! They have been my No.1 musical influence since I heard the first note! and as a Rock & Roll Drummer of 41 years, and still playing in clubs today, I would emphasize that their music is not as simple and easy to duplicate as people think!!! Lol They just make it look easy!!! :) A TRUE sign of Greatness!!! Peace to All!

  • @calypsojimmy thats sweet i wish i was alive i missed all the good music

  • What I'd give to see a new band like this now. This is what you used to get when the music industry used to take risks.

  • awesome man. incredable

  • @MrDoctadrums Thanks - really appreciated

  • @nobluemeanies68 I was watching The Beach Boys' first Ed Sullivan show on youtube, ... I mean they're great, but they're just not the same as The Beatles. The Beatles have this power that draws anyone with adequate hearing to them.

    Thanks for this video.

  • Great upload My Friend

  • @mac3079b Thanks mac !!

  • Great sound!!! It's like a "false stereo" or not??? Wonderful job!!! :D

  • @TheBeatleMirko Indeed, this is remastered stereo. Glad you like it.

  • Respond to this video... Cheers !!

  • very gooD!

  • @therotiv4 Thanks !!!
