Whoever includes the beatles in the list of best bands ever does not know or understand anything about music or rock history, they were a pop band, the first n'sync, backstreetboys new kids on the block etc, they were designed to ook like that and were just producing music according to the commercial trends of black music of that era and then they just went on doing the same stuff other rock bands were doing

The Beatles were a big influence on everything that came after, that is why they are so well known. Also, they started out as an appeal to the masses band who then actually got to have a lot of control over the writing and producing of the records, so that is why they are so influential. Sound has evolved and I think a lot of bands today are much better than the Beatles. But the Beatles paved the way for these new bands to even be looked at and considered.

And, music is one of the most subjective things in the world.

Siince I haven't listened ot all the Beatles albums nor have an extensive knowledge of thier cateloge, I can't be an expert, but thier songs seem a bit too shallow to me to ever classify them as the best band in the world.
