Not that any of this matters (since dogmatic religions are superstitious rackets to begin with), but I fail to see how voting Republican is anymore of an option.

At least, not on any logical/consistent grounds. Of course, the reason for this inconsistency is (despite what's in the gospels) all "catholics" of the right care about are unborn babies and hating "fags."

My view is that you choose your life before your incarnation. Isiah says:" before you were born in the womb I knew you."Knew" is not one sided.If God knew you before you were born you also knew God.So when bad happens you have to see it through b/c you chose this life.

Now, come on. The holy spirit has given us the gift of discernment. Surely one can clearly see the difference between a soldier who chose to put his life on the line for his country, a person who chose to rape and murder and an inoscent child who's only crime is existing. Americans have just made a colossal mistake on so many levels. On one level, Obama supports the Freedom of Choice Act, which will legalize abortion at any point in the pregnancy, even 9 months. The millions of babies that would be killed the unlimited abortion act of Obama is not justified by the thousands who may be saved through an end to the war. If you are an obama supporter - perhaps you should think about your vote. He takes the "rights of women" over the rights of a child in tri semester. If he believes in the rights of woman so strongly why does he not pay equally? or stop abuses on woman. Tri semester abortion are danergous for woman. I am not a heavy right to lifer - I support the rights of fathers, childrens and women. Both parents should make this decision. Never a tri semester. There must be a limit.

I am not an Obama supporter for many reasons. But this issue is a deal breaker for me. I am firmly against the taking of an infant's life for any reason. A child should never be punished because his/her parents were irresponsible and don't want to deal with an "inconvenience". Babies are precious little persons and what they go through during an abortion is the most brutal act of violence one can inflict upon another. There is no excuse for an abortion. I am a woman by the way.
