  • Just want to say many thanks to you guys, we're well over 100,000 views, didn't think it'd get that much when I first uploaded this lol, so it's much appreciated. To the 8 of you who disliked the video, think I'll need to have a word with you all!

  • tuuunee

  • Wiiii 19 juli 1990 ;)

  • This was a number one hit when I was born! :)

  • I know, it was just extremely clever how it was you know. It had a third verse as well, that was the secret of its success. I know, that's how they could produce something it was just extremely clever how they did that. I think it was just such a very clever thing. That's black vaunts in ninety for you ! You couldn't do any better really for an artist like that.

  • Was a fan of this long before that sellout Dizzee Rascal fucked it up.

  • @eclectica1 Sellout. . . . . . . . .yes, I very much like the sound of that Eclectica! *thumbs up*

  • @eclectica1 doesn't matter if he sold it or not, the important thing is that via youtube we can still see the proper original song which we all still love.

    money talks !

  • I still have this on cassingle :0)

  • 6 people can't talk to money :P Poor suckers. XD

  • fantastic song, was music back here better and more catchy or am I just getting older?!

  • Take me and abuse me yeahhhhh

  • I had to make sure I didn't confuse these guys with Stevie B and Timmy T (all 3 were around at the same time).

  • What a powerful Video. Your passion really comes through!

  • And this didn't get to No.1... WHY???

  • @mikhailcasalis Tell me about it Mikhail! And 5 people dislike this because. . . . . . . . . . .:S

  • @cheekymonkey0770 Bloody retards. Okay so I only knew this version because of Dizzee Rascal, but the original (this one is better)... How can you NOT like this. These people prefer their cash clean. Stupid Idiots.

  • @mikhailcasalis probably a bunch of uptight snobs or they're youngsters who prefer their Dizzie to this, and their Bieber nonsense to this!

  • @cheekymonkey0770 This song was # 1 on the U.S. dance chart, but only 25 on the Billboard hot 100

    .

I suspect many people (i.e. old hippies) didn't like the message. Or they just didn't like dance music

    .

  • @electrictroy2010 well that is something, to hear it did get to No.1 elsewhere other than in the UK has brought a big smile to my face.

  • @mikhailcasalis It was held off the top spot by Adamski - Killer. That was a pretty good track as well :-)

  • brings back to good times 90's for ewer

  • the beginning is a slightly different than i remember and the cd i was listening to today, but i LOVE this song..great beat and rythm..just gets you out of your seat and moving..i remember these dances too..haha..thanks for posting

  • @highlandwolf01 This is the 1990 'Sold Out Mix', the one you may have heard is the original 1988 mix :)

  • TAKE ME AND ABUSE ME :) xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • @MegaMoobag no abusing of the sort will take place here lol! ;) :)

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • This is 10 million times better than that dumb Dizzee thing....it always will be

  • @daz580 Having money doesn't make you greedy...you can be the greediest, yet poorest person alive. Having something is not what defines greed, just saying. And if you think you shouldn't be listening, why are you? Hypocrisy, I think yes.

  • @daz580 I'm confused by this comment. You're a christian and should not be listening to this?! Why?! I mean I'm a Catholic, it doesn't stop me from liking and listening to this from time to time.

  • Justin Bieber disliked this on his 2 youtube-accounts.

  • @tournication I hate that little boy, never liked him or his songs at all. He can f**k right off, but then, he was born after this came out, however still, I know a few people who are about his age that like this so he can still p**s off!

  • @cheekymonkey0770 I am 16 and I love this :D

  • ccccchhhhhheeeeeeesssseeeeeyyyyyy goodness what a tuneeee ;-p

  • the old shit is the best

  • great song*****love it

  • @cheekymonkey, this song is special to me, i had just moved from DR that year and that was the first song i learned to sing in english. The melody captivated me, and the beat like you said was like ahead of its time. thats why you can isten to that song now and it doesnt give you that "this song is so old" vibe. thanks

  • @TheMhortiz you're welcome

  • The original and the best version. What a track!!!! Blown away with this when first heard it in Blackpool 1990 and still overcome by it all these years later. One of the best tracks I have ever heard. First time I have seen the video - thanks for the upload!

  • YOOOOOOOOOOOOO! OMG CHEEKYMONEY0770. YOU ARE THE MAN! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR A WHILE NOW. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • @TheMhortiz Cheeky Money lol, I like that! Nice one TheMhortiz.

  • OMG!! WHAAAT!!

  • @babyninja09 what is it about this video that has shocked the living hell out of you lol?!

  • @cheekymonkey0770 I just havent heard this song in sooo long. lol It brings me back

  • @cheekymonkey0770 After twenty years a lot of people young and old start to realize how SMART this song truly is. That's what shocks them, They just expect silly 80s stuff and they get a timeless message.

And a reaaally NASTY jam. Can't hurt one bit.

  • I knew Dizzee sampled this from another song and I was telling everyone and they were like no but trust me I always knew it.

I love this song! Really nice :)

  • @theoneyoucantforget Preach on, spread the word!

  • There were songs that were just out there and then there were songs that were SMART.

This is one of the SMART ones, let there be no doubt. Short, funky and to the point. That's why it still resonates after 20 years.

  • omg....... nice.my best music dance

  • I still can do the front trax...PRO

  • Cooles Lied!!! MC traeumt von früher...

  • This is old school Alconbury shit here!! Look at K Dozier sporting the letterman!!

Ms. Washington was doing her thang in this!!

  • money talks

  • Damn this brings back old school memories!!!!!!

  • feel it ,ir's good in our days!

  • lmao liquidhax...I feel exacrtly the same, love this song!!!!

  • omg -even if you dont dance--your butt will get up and move..........beautiful ..love love love it.......i will be listening to this song when im 80!!

  • @liquidhax Hahahahaha, that made me laugh when you said you'll be still listening to this song when you're 80. They call that getting down wit your bad self! ;)

  • its wicked but i like the original better lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • @tifainesaxon I don't understand your comment lol; this is the original, so which version are you referring to that is wicked?

  • @cheekymonkey0770 ...exactly.....

  • 1990 - Cool Music

    Respect & Peace from Romania

  • It really angers me that Dizee Rascal took this song, and then does better than Stevie V did?

    How dare he!

  • Erm, for your information MyArmadilloIsSandy, he didn't go and do better than Stevie V did, he just went and stole an old skool classic, tried to make it his own, when all he did, was just do a s**t version of it. I never liked the guy beforehand, and now, I can't stand him, I detest him if anything. You never go and take a classic like this and s**t on it!

  • @MyArmadilloIsSandy Dizee Rascal needs a Bonker in the head cause he angers me always!

  • I was 10 years old, good time

  • man i remember this playing in the background on one of the episodes of "Beverley hills 90210"...

i instantly loved the tune..... man i loved the 90's dance.....

  • this was played on an episode of Beverly Hills 90210!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF Dizzee Rascal you scoundrel.

I love modern electronica but what is with this age of remixing, make your own shit!

Great track, glad I gave this original a listen.

  • I gotta love how you called him a 'scoundrel' lol, that's just brilliant! And too right an all, he should make his own shit, not steal anything from classics!

  • lol dizzee rascal remade this song excactly same tune same woman singing but he just sang in some bits

  • It's not the same woman singing, it's Vula from Basement Jaxx singing on Dizzee's version

  • wikipedia is not gospel!

  • ...the good ole days.. thanks for putting this up. love it.

  • Can I just make a point? To those who say it came out in 1989, it didn't. I've checked my sources, and it was 1990. Look below:

    From wikipedia:

    Singles

    1990 : "Body Language"

1990 : "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)"

    There's my evidence :)

  • yeah fair enough... but it was probably put together in 1989! ;-)

  • ahhhhhhh shooooooo, just shooooooo lol, go on, you 80's biatch :P. Nah, you're probably right, they must have created it towards the end of 89', and brought it out in 1990 ;) :).

  • it did come out in 89 this version is a remix the original only had the drums (that you can hear in the background) and no chords, and more rap than singing i own every version of this song SO I KNOW. lol

  • @deejayses1 - don't make me have to come and find you lol! Nah seriously, what's more important; the year it came out, or how good it is to listen to? I think we BOTH know what the obvious answer to that is hehe ;)

  • actually 1989

  • 'The Adventures Of Stevie V is a dance music act from Bedfordshire, England who scored several hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the early 1990s. Assembled by producer Stevie Vincent, the group also includes singers Melody Washington and Mick Walsh. Their most successful single was "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)," a #1 dance chart hit that crossed over to pop radio and hit #25 on the Hot 100 in 1990, as well as hitting #2 on the UK Singles Chart.'

Source: Wikipedia, so it was 1990 :)

  • @cheekymonkey0770 ,if you would have been at the clubs in 89 or 90 you wouldn't habe to go back to Wikipedia ;-)

  • I was only 3 years old when this came out lol, can we please not get past the fact of how great this tune is. Forgive me for being born in 1986 lol :P, if I had the extremely lucky chance of being in a club at that age. . . . . . . .you finish the sentence lol! :)

  • it's all good , buddy!!

  • Your parents never took dancing at that age... shame on them LOL.

  • My parents are from Mauritius. They took me dancing, well, sega dancing at our parties lol.

  • WHOOOOOP

  • I love this song!! gutted i can't find it on iTunes though :(

  • Really?? It should be on there if you just type in 'Dirty Cash' or Adventures of Stevie V, or just Stevie V :).

  • awesome track! brings back sweet memories \m/

  • I believe the rapper on this called himself LP and his vocals were far superior to that Dizzie crap.

  • LP?

  • Lyrical Poet I believe.

  • <Not a fan particularly of Dizzee Rascal....i tried to like his music...i really did....but i just barely tolerate it..especially when his version of this song is concerned...it's just nowhere near the earworm that the original mix from 1989 A.O.S.V. rules

  • fuck! this brings back memories!!

  • Brill song

    lovee it!

  • well said cheekymonkey =D

  • Look I'm sorry guys, to all those who are Dizzie Rascal fans out there, his version is nowhere near as good as this, and never will be! This is a classic, it's legendary, and it's one of the best old school dance tracks of all time. FACT!

  • I had to look this song up I was sing it all day yestarday I love it dance to it in the clubs back in the late 80's

  • I grew up wit dis, so fucking good

  • dizzie rascal's is good but when i heard this it brougt back the epicness.

I personally feel this version is better but that's mainly becuase i prefer the songs before people sample em.

  • More of a fact than an opinion if you ask me. The originals are ALWAYS better than the covers, well, 95% of the time I'd say.

  • aye yeah like there have been quite a few songs that have been better as a cover but quite a large majority are never able to compare to the original.

  • Dizzee's version doesn't compare. It's a rip off.

  • hows the girl singing on this banging track

  • Awesome track i crew on this shissssh. hahehe

  • Absolute Banging classic old skool tune

  • found this out coz of Dizzie Rascall dirtiee cash

  • But you gotta tell us hardshaun, which version you like the better: this, the original, or Dizzie's? In my opinion, I love the original more, but if you think Rascal's is better, than that's cool!

  • I totally agree. This is a classic and dizzies version is not as good.

  • I remeber this song when I was 14 good track!!!

  • what was good always is great

  • Was in my last year of senior school when this came out... such good memories. Loved this back then, and still sounds good today.

  • Superb 90's classic, this style's starting to come back in but the originals are almost always the best.

  • Such an excellent tune; original is best.

  • omg ive been searching for this son since i was 14, now im 31, thank you!! this song is the oldschool shit!!! wow thanks for the moemories. keep rocking it oldschool and more

  • I still have the 12" remix lol, might blast it out for the neigbours but they wont realise its NOT the ripped off version!

  • i was about 8/9 yr and had this on now thats what i call music on 12" lol still old school quality :)

  • Absolute 90's classic! Takes me back to a time that's sadly long gone. There's something about this era that the current stuff just can't match. Never seen this video before, but I remember seeing them perform on TOTP. Got the album and remixes on Vinyl... Thanks for posting this!

  • wot a foooooooooookin tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune
