Since we work full time in the Machinima community, it's like any other job. We must have enough revenue to pay the bills.

Either we get paid by corporations and continue making the movies they want, or the community donates and we make what they want. I'd rather make movies for the community (more fun!), but that requires that we're supported by the community. Otherwise we have no choice but to accept corporate cash and community projects get pushed back.

It's up to all of you.

When you take a job with another company they decide what content you make for them. It's unlikely a company would hire me and say, "ok, now make more illegal danish episodes!" The likely scenario would be more like, "Ok, now I want you to make a commercial for our new game!"

It's also likely continuing our fan films would be a conflict of interest. This is why my brother and I have turned down other offers. We like what we're doing even if it isn't as secure as a desk job.
