  • remember kids revenge is a dish best served cold ;D the movie is a renaissance version of scarface lol kinda...

  • hmmm 13 parts of the movie.... same years when edmund stayed in the prison. Coucidence????

  • I'm a count not a saint!

  • Yacapo is like the 4th wheel....

  • @StreetLife119, Both, but mainly duels.

  • Who else wishes we used swords?

  • @13Amazons

Use swords for what? Duel, war?

  • I bet its hard to find the book

  • @lovinxaviee this movie is not an accurate portrayal of the book. Do yourself a favor and read the book. It is so much better than this piece of crap movie. How they could even use the Monte Cristo title is appalling.

  • @89afvet who reads books anymore? rofl

  • @lovinxaviee actually barnes and noble have it for sale in the classics section. But it is nothing like this movie though. I have the book and both are very good.

  • 4:20 hes likes "WTF was that a rock?!" haha

  • U r NOT the father!! Lmao!!

  • what happened to your mercy??? prison bitch!! xD

  • For those who have read the unabridged book, this ending is completely disappointing! First of all Edmund never kills Fernand himself, Fernand commits suicide. And Edmund does not recommence his relationship with Mercedes. The book concludes with the Count and Haydee, a key female character with whom the Count falls in love with and that the movie does even allude to, sailing away from the isle of Monte Cristo.

  • This movie is EPIC!

  • 3:52 FUS RO DAH!!!!

  • drama drama drama...mini soap opera repackaged as a movie

  • i love how when he shaves his beard off everyone suddenly knows who he is. thats like clark kent taking off his glasses and suddenly no one knows who he is.

  • @misskennedyxo idk he did look alot different with the beard thats actually somewhat reasonable.

  • @des696969 haha yes far more reasonable than the superman secret identity, and i guess if you take into account all the years that he had been gone it would make somewhat more sense

  • wow that was a smack down, literally

  • anyone notice how Fernand's sword just magically reappears in his scabbard? Edmond knocks it out of his hands, then gets his sword broken by Albert, then picks up fernand's yet somehow fernand has his sword again at 2:22.

  • TO be entirely honest, this is the worst part of the movie. Basically everything else is far superior in execution.

  • I was actually so relieved with this ending... I was sure that the son would die, then the girl and when she didn't that Edmund would. But thankfully not every movie these days has to end in tragedy... lol

  • hey could you upload the rest of the credits. its not fair to the other people involved in the movie. also I think it makes this video slightly more legal if you do.

  • 0:38 His face was like: Interesting... I didnt see that one coming...

  • haha he say's you're right after he takes revenge from everyone.

  • nice long movie takes forever till reach happy end lol

  • best movie i've seen

  • @ctrlBayra It's a good movie. Read the original book it's so much better. Some say, it is the best book ever written.

  • kill fernand and get a rainbow 4:59

  • I love this movie

  • after watching this movie I only managed to take one thing to heart. Fight a foreigner but don't kill them when you could have and you will have a free butler until their debt is paid! :)

  • AMAZING MOVIE!!

  • Thank you for posting this movie

  • this movie it tuched mu soul..(^ ^)

  • This is my favourite movie :D everything is so well performed

  • lets just by an island so that i can feel good whenevr i leev it. wish i was rich enough to do that.

  • This movie has made me even more realize not to take everything in life for granted...enjoy the sunshine :)

  • Excellente!

  • WOW what a great movie!

  • ty for posting it!

  • Sick movie

  • amazing movie!

  • wonderful movie!!!!!!!! :D

  • Thanks for posting

  • Awsome movie

  • this is almost as good as the anime :]

  • @dbzfanart1 . . . ? Wait. I only saw part of the anime. And I thought it had NOTHING to do with the original story in the book, and nothing to do with this movie. I couldn't even figure out why they called it "The Count of Monte Cristo" o.O Am I wrong?

  • "You have a son who looks exactly like you"

  • talk about taring down the chateau d'if, guantanamo should also be torn down. :)

  • What? "Now i can live in a world where u have everything and i got nothing?"

  • @RoyaleZero101 I think he actually said "Now I couldn't live in a world where you have everything and I have nothing" That's why he went back to fight him. Cuz he's way selfish.

  • I prefer the wrong endings in American rather than British movies. I just watched a British Thomas Hardy movie and the screen-writer had the couple drown at the end...in the book they both lived. Pissed me off big time. This movie was wonderful with a terrific ending just the way I like it. If I want facts I watch documentaries...even then one has to research their facts.

  • So bloody gorgeous at 3:28 !!

  • Now I couldn't live in a world where you have everything and I have nothing..... So i came back to get my ass kicked again

  • How is the book different? I'd read it if I had the time, but… I don't =(

  • @rsgirl10 Same here i never had time to read it!

  • wheres part 14?

  • its nowhere close to the book, and american dramatization is stupid and weak.

and sword is stuck in armpit 5:27

  • Wut happend to ur mercy????....it went thru ur chest douche bag

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome movie... From now on, my name is Zatara :P :D

  • Amazing movie, even better book!

  • ... and now Albert has become the man of steel... heheheh

  • There are so many variations from the book.... but i love it anyway.....

  • this is sooo not how the book ended!!!!

  • we watched this movie in my high school english class...havent forgotten it since...great movie!!!

  • What a bamf

  • still one of the best, i can't remember how many times I watch this but still i can't get over it. Best story ever.:)

  • 5:18 Best line in the movie! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @americanpsycho93 On this line Ed is rephrasing what his friend Farias told him while in jail "I'm a priest, not a saint"

  • @sofisma81 I know...that's why its so awesome!

  • THANK U SO MUCH 4 these links!!!!

  • great movie!!!! yayay i feel like falling in love:)

  • throwing knife

  • Hahaha rofl ..........jacopos face wen mercedez says albert is Edmonds son .....hilarious like"ohhhhhhhhh shit something gonna go down damn I should've kept some treasure " and mondegos face wen he got owned he he he he

  • Jacopo then goes on to be a line cook at Shennanigans...

  • Just wondering, did the director actually read the novel? Because nothing at ALL was the same. He even changed the name of a few characters.

  • 5:00 Guy got pierced. Pun intended.

  • I love how the son is seemingly not affected by the BIG twist in his life. wtf

  • @puddlemini I disagree. That part after Edmond kills Mondaigo and then the son falls to his knees...I think it shows him in shock that the man he knew as his father is dead, killed by the man he trusted as a friend who really is his father.

  • She's pretty hot

  • HAHA Henry was so young! He is like Superman now.

  • EDMOND!

  • Fernan reminds me of harry from spiderman

  • @SKpivot If you're talking about the son of the Green Goblin, then you're right because they are (as far as I know) the same actor.

  • Comment removed

  • @skulldrag6 haha they are not the same actor, i checked it. Thing is he reminds me of harry, oh and they look very similar.

  • *round of applause*

  • Does anyone know the type of sword fernand and Dantes are using?

  • @jesse1006z They are Rapiers

  • 1:27 he sounds like an action hero! Imagine, the Count of Monte Cristo The Action Movie!

  • great movie!

  • Litteraly made me cry..

  • edomnd is sexy

  • I want to save a foriegn guy so he can owe me.

  • Best revenge story ever written! Bravo!

  • THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE I applaud it....now... ITS TIME TO WATCH THE ANIME!

  • @Levi9870 Why don`t you just read the book(s) ? you can`t get a better version.

  • @sevyyves937 Iunno, its hard for me to keep tracks of the books, and i started watching the anime first without knowing it was actually a movie/book, so i haaaaad~ to watch this

  • that actress who played Mercedes is so excruciating to watch and hear, she makes me want to push her over the edge just to extract some emotion from her grrr

  • I love the fact that the movie ends with a happy ending :)

  • One day I wish i can save yacopo's life so he can be my body guard.

  • great film...thought it was boring...fooled me..can watch over and over.....

  • lol at 0:39. Yacopo probably thought, SHIIITTT this family drama is screwed.

  • anybody know where this is filmed???

  • I'M A COUNT NOT A SAINT!

  • After Dantes heard "you are the son of Edmond Dantes" he was all like uuuuuuuwhaaaaat?!

  • @alkim345 yeah,it was an "i did not see that coming" look

  • I love Henry Cavill

  • Have we succeeded? We think so. Before long we shall have covered with our narratives an enormous period of time; between the "Comtesse de Salisbury' and the "Comte de Monte Christo" five centuries and a half are compresed. Well, we assert that we have taught France as much history about those five centuries and a half as any historian. This passage is from The Companions of Jehu which was written by Alexandre Dumas pere.

  • i like how there is a rainbow in the background as they are fighting

  • Jackapo is like the best character in the movie

  • @Epauling He is probably my favorite character too. He's good in every film. Luis Gonzalez I think. Luis something

  • @rrip1 Yeah

In this he is so philosophical "You must end this...even the priest will understand

  • @rrip1 Luis Guzman

  • @Jonathan214 That's right.

  • @rrip1 luis Guzman

  • @Epauling Jackapo is a great character but c'mon... Edmond Dantes all day.... King's and Pawn's my friend!

  • @Jonathan214

Yes but as we saw in that scene....jackapo throws a knife like a ninja

  • @Epauling According to the abridged version of the book (that was an awful school project), Jacopo isn't nearly as cool. He was pretty wicked in the movie though. The book is even more of a soap opera with more characters to make life complicated. Check it out :)

  • I recently watched Shawshank Redemption & laughed when this author was referred to as Alexander Dumbass (by the con who couldn't read). Reminded me of this excellent movie. Fantastic that this movie is available here. Classic. Thanks for the upload authentik39.

  • I can't believe they left out the story of Maximilian and Valentine! That was the happy ending in the book!

  • Comment removed

  • I'll take a movie over a book any day.

  • @rrip1 Seriously, there wasn't that much fighting in the book, all of the bad guys just killed themselves.

  • Anyone notice the rainbow in the background while they're fighting? Cause I did.

  • What the hell!?! @ 4:27 he blocked the sword with his hand, and his hand didn't get chopped off!?! Are you kidding me!? How rusty can that sword be!? And don't dare tell me it's cause of his leather glove, cause I'd dare you to wear one while I swing a sword at ya!

  • @NoelCasumpang Actually he blocked it with his forearm, and he did get cut (you can see the blood he even glances at it) These swords weren't meant to kill with cuts, just wound, they were meant to deliver the killing blow with a piercing strike (as you see in this scene).

Ya it probably messed his arm up, but even if he did let it hit him in the head or wherever else it more than likely wouldn't have killed him.

  • @NoelCasumpang It wasn't just a leather glove, back in the time for duels such as those there were specialty gloves that had some kind of armor that could with stand a slash of a sword...If you watch Jet Li's Fearless it shows it there...

  • What happened to your mercy???? oh yeah ok....as if the count should stand there and say: I HAVE MERCY..PLEASE PUT THAT SWORD IN ME AND LET ME BLEED TO DEATH

  • 3:48 Kind of strange, I know, but I LOVE this part the most because they forget about the swords and the fancy showmanship and go back to real fighting.

  • It was not hope,it was hate and revenge.Vendetta.I have watched this film twenty times over the years, and will watch it again, when in the mood for it.Now I must read the book.

  • @billy1212ist Actually, the last words of the book was “Wait and hope”. But, then, it's the movie, not the book.

  • @billy1212ist The book is so different from the movie I doubt you'll feel desapointed. So go ahead and read it.

  • Excellent movie. I liked the character of Edmond Dontes for not giving up suffering in such dark prison and taking lessions from the good oldman his prison mate. I think in this film it is also shown that hope makes man survive and win if time permits.

  • this version is wayyyyyyy better than the old ones, and the actors are better looking

  • It didn't met my expectations. They changed the plot and I hate it. The book was much better than this one. The story became different and I HATE IT!!!!

  • @inton2112 You can hate it all you want, as someone who never read the book this is one of my all time favorite movies. Books are usually better, more power to you for liking it better, but this movie stands on it's own merit in my opinion. A classic.

  • @godsentyes Absolutely a modern classic, this film. The Dumas book, if followed closely, will be an entire 20 episode series. The movie stands on it's own.

  • I would have been a good sword fighter. Probably a Count too

  • 1000th comment:)

i started watching this film in school, but we never finished it, so i decided it was best to watch it on youtue

    god, this film is awesome(:

  • @amna9876 Book is thousands of times better.

  • @Duur4Life -

    theres a book?

    awesome(:

  • This shit is classic!

  • Man I feel freakin baptized!

  • The ending was a little weak, but good overall movie.

  • Anyone else notice theres a rainbow behind him at 4:58?

  • Cool movie! :) 0:34, Jerry,Jerry, 3:49-3:53, LEEROY JENKINS!

  • so the moral is - without money you cant do anything in this world. imagine how dumb it would be if Dantes appeared after 13 years and 'seeking revenge' but still a pauper. they'd just laugh and throw him back in jail. nobody gives a shit if youre a 'good man'. they just care if youre a 'powerful man'. my fave guy is actually Fernand, ruthless and rich. its guys like him that thrive in the real world. nice film though :)

  • God will give me justice.

  • Ive never read the story-but I had heard that in the book he does not get Mercedes back? Does anyone know if this is true? I'm afraid to read the book because I don't read other peoples fiction-I like to write and don't want to be accidently influenced by someone elses wording?...also I had heard that the character "The Count of Monte Christo" was a metaphor representing The Jesuit order in Roman Catholicism,so thats why he doesn't get the girl? Can anyone help me out? Or am I just crazy?

  • @TheStaticage01

He doesn't marry again Mercedes, but he forgives her.In his travels in Orient he saves a princess,Haydée,and he uses her as his servant,a rich servant. She fells in love with him,and at the end he let her free, but she doesn't want to leave,so they leave together. Sorry ,but I'm not English :S

  • @LadyL1800 Oh...Ok-Thank you, now it makes more sense. I'm not English either. I'm a YANK.

  • @TheStaticage01 The movie is waaaaay different than the novel. There are more characters in the novel, which I think they are importand to the plot. Dantes never took Mercedes back. A princess, Haydee, who Dantes sets her free falls in love with Dantes and in the end they leave together.

You should really read the book, it's really good :)

  • @yvantran what to his son?

  • huh? I just finished the book, is this the same story??
