I think it's beautiful. I listened to Firkusny's version and this one is better, in my opinion. It's an elusive piece and she does a great job.

For me, the essence of this piece (the silent on the first beat) which is the "death" is lost in this interpretation. It becomes banal.

There is not meant to be silence. The pedal marks are by Janacek.
