  • @hokumorris im so dumb i just saw when they uploaded this vid and ur right srry

  • not good trying to copy glee

  • @MegaBoby54 This was performed and recorded before Glee was produced, just sayin'

  • if i am right there are 16 times 8 points; 16 talents and 8 voices serving us a great performance and to me she feels all this, itTOPS

  • lol Well the conductor's arms are off rhythm. Lmao even better, the conductor herself is off rhythm. Hahaha 1 better, the whole song sounds a lil off rhythm.

  • they should try the sing-off

  • yes actually, it's to keep the rhythm. it's exactly what a choir director would do at a concert.

  • <3 Anna!!

  • The lead singer has a great voice.

  • Amazing!!!!!

Can you remember which sheet music you used?

    Best version ever.

  • amazing harmony :D

  • My school choir did this. Almost bought a tear to my eye with the piano accompaniment added. Not so much harmony as this one. Good or bad point??

  • no bass

  • @ 1:35 does it not sound like they're saying "June Jones"?

  • This video OWNS glee!

do you feel like someone's stole one of your possessions?

  • Shes like a freaky metronome

  • can't you see the nerdy kid sings too?

he has a really good voice actually.

and i'm pretty sure if the conductor wasn't doing those "spatic movements"

this song would be out of tune, and off beat

    so SHOVE IT.

  • What's with the nerdy kid on the right

  • @mikeloveskities ...dude, it's MIT. EVERYONE THERE is nerdy. :p

  • Gives me chills....and to think of the intellect here too is simply amazing. I had no idea MIT had a choir! Wait, which MIT is this? Might be Musicians Institute, not the other haha!

  • it's very good but they skipped the song's signature guitar solo...

I was literally anticipating some guy in the back shout out in falsetto after the 2nd verse :|

  • Fair play..they are awsome! As for the women in the hairband...firstly drag yourself out of the 80s and get a better dress sense. Secondly....get some dance moves and stop jumping! You made the group look really messy!

  • I think she's keeping beat

  • she was there director she kept them in tune and on time...

  • @ cheekychapie - She is conducting them...

  • Wow. this is MIT's choir. Everyone who goes here has to take multivariable calculus to graduate. and that shrimp in the front can't even hold a steady beat.

  • it was good but mayb you should lose the jumping bean thats trying to conduct cuz shes the one that cant hold a steady beat

  • Some great voices! But yikes-director chick's rhythm was way erratic. Group did well to stay together despite her "lead".

  • good lord that pat benatar dressed check trying to direct them needs to invest in a metronome...

  • sounds like the glee cover

  • not eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen

  • maybe not but i meant a little

  • THE CHORALLARIES AHAHAHHAHA

lmao i love it - math and music in perfect harmony! :):):)

    xoxoxooxoxoxo

  • the male soloist is amazing

  • HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME LOL

  • im tryin to get my choior teacher to let us do this

  • the best one ive seen on youtube to date tbh ^^

  • What this doesn't tell you is that those are the only girls that attend MIT. lol.

I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a Hell of an Engineer!

  • Clef Hangers are so much better.

  • sexy

  • amazing guys i really love this version

  • Guy holding the mic may be the one beat boxing.

    Ever consider that?

I love this one! One of the best ones I've come across.

  • BEst version yet!

  • awesome, im trying to convince my tahcer to let us sing this song

  • haha cool i just convinced my teacher to let us !!!!!!

but we are doing the Glee cover one!!

  • is there a point to the girl int he headband waving her arm like that? like does the rest of the band really need her to do that? lol

  • She's conducting them.

  • No offense if you do... but you really must not know a lot about a cappella...

  • Or much about music at all. She's keeping time so people stay together.

  • A good enough trained choir shouldn't need that, no.

  • @bw13187 loool, yeah so they know what parts to sing and the timing. its stupid but sorta helped them not go out (:

  • She keeps the band in rhythm. All A Cappella groups have someone to keep them in rhythm.

  • @bw13187 It makes her feel better.

  • @bw13187 it is almost impossible without someone keeping tempo to not speed up out of control, happenned too many times to count, usually just done in a less obvious way

  • @hisson1988 I don't think he was making a comment that it's not needed; moreso... why is she flailing so intensely. I've seen tons and tons of acapella performances and none with the arm going that out of control haha. It's like her whole body is into it. They're good, so it must work.

  • @bw13187

It's basically a failsafe. If someone zones out and gets lost, they don't lose rhythm because they can see it through the conductor.

  • @bw13187 she is giving them the tempo dude , infact she is very important , she leads them all.

  • @bw13187 @mbrevig02 @chikon04 Conductors are only really needed in bigger choirs. In an a small group like this someone can give the tempo in the very beginning for, say, the first one or two measures, but then drop out. Everyone in the ensemble should be able to keep the tempo on their own, like an "internal beat".

  • @bw13187 she might have a shaker in her hand, or it's to indicate the tempo. It's easy to get lost in a choral setting...

  • i had a small high school capella group and we never used mics- we were traditionalists like Columbus. these guys, especially that main singer guy, are totally phoning it in.

  • i agree overall to a point. but yeah the guy holding the mic is either spazzing or wants to be noticed too badly.

  • i was in an a cappella group at Cornell...it was called Here Comes Treble.

  • is your name andy? lol

  • i go by "Nard dog" :)

  • MIT always did have a good acapella choir. i must say though that the brown derby's were always my faves (followed by the dartmouth aires).

  • amazing

  • awesome!!! does anyone happen to know if there is a published version of this song?

  • A great cover!

  • Love your cover of this song!!

  • So do I, BrightonMike!

  • You're an ass, pilaf567!

  • O_O...I hope my choir will sound just like you guys in the near future.....

  • well, I still like it. ^^

  • they really got moves

  • did they make up this arangement or did they buy it? does anyone know where i can get sheet music for an a cappella choral version of this song?

  • hey, aren't these the ppl who did the nintendo accapella as well?

  • Nope. :) They're just similarly attired. Several groups wear red/black.

  • I think they need a guy that can land a sold A6 IMO Steveperry..

    Cough

  • that conductor has mo sense of rhythm lol

  • that conductor needs to buy a metronome

  • The singer has a very good voice o_0

  • they should stick to math

  • and you should go fuck yourself

  • Wow just wow! I guess there's always that one retard who has a totally different way of looking at things.

  • Overall the version was good, but there was a part in the middle where the group seemed not together. The soloist was pretty solid, but clearly not a risk taker because she didn't go for that high note that accents and drives the entire song. I could barely hear the beat boxer throughout the entire song except for the end. The chick in the front left keeping the rhythm made me laugh so hard throughout the whole song though, hilarious. Agreed, a bit too choral for a rock song though still solid.

  • the bass is too choral in my opinion, the lead was flat at some parts, they skipped the guitar solo... :(

  • @thoraxe1991 lead singer has perfect pitch. maybe you need better speakers?

  • Dude, that girl is an AMAZING lead, and this is an INCREDIBLE acappella group. Go MIT!

  • Good work MIT geniuses!

    Nice effort.

  • This shit is right

  • OMG where did you you get the arrangement, I want it. I think my choir should sing this song instead of the boring hymms we always do.

  • good, but sometimes the beat changed.

    awesome job

  • You guys are amazing. Im doing this song with a few friends for Ensemble UIL. I could only aspire to do as well as you guys. :)

  • I think I remember attending this concert...

  • True but it s a hell of a lot easier for a chick to do it considering the necessary counter-tenor range. Additionally thos female rendition is quite good so I think it barely matter.

  • You have a beautiful voice!

    very well done. =]

  • Cool.

  • yeah, that girl is ridiculous, she is graduating this year. these guys are awesome, especially to party with. a cappella love

  • A women's voice does not suite well for this song....

  • What? Journey, did it! ;D

  • Cool. I'm considering asking my director about doing this song next year.

  • i honestly dont like the director in the choir.

  • The conducter look like she was spasming, or going hyphy, they're the same anyways. Great performance though.

  • the lead singer sings like hell!

  • I'd rather have a conductor constantly keeping the beat over a conductor who has to come in occasionally as people get off beat anyday.

    The Chorallaries are amazing.

  • Fantastic version. And conductors are needed to keep people in time and bring them in

  • kinda spaztic but lead singer rocked conducter type girl should definitely stop

  • bob talbot is albanian, disregard his comment

  • I too am a boy from spain and that was very emotional.

  • I am also a boy from spain and that was very emotional.

  • I am just a boy from Spain and that was very emotional!

  • Damn Lead singer is good

  • she is good

  • yes indeed..she's a fabulous lead vocalist..just matched with the rythm & sound of the choral...WOW...

  • wow! I am boy from spain and just say that was very emotional

  • ahmazin'

  • This was very impressive!

  • Is the chick that's doing the spastic movements supposed to be conducting? It looks really stupid and is distracting. She should just sit down.

  • my computer is slow so the movements dont match the words/lyrics, sorry

  • totally agree

  • I <3 you guys. Do you have a website where I can buy a cd or something?

    <33

  • respect

  • amazing =]

    xxx

  • I agree, the song needs a male soloist.

  • yeah it wouldve been awesome to if it was a duet...

  • yeah this song is awesome a classic. They look like they were having fun

  • i love the black girl in the middle singing the "dodododo"[guitar solo] part in the beginning

  • They did a great job...but really, it just didn't feel right having a girl sing it. :(

  • whats with the guy with the microphone on (my)right? to cool to stand with everyone else?

  • he's the guy singing percussion

  • i suppose that would make sense.

  • That is uncalled for, but I totally agree it is a male solo.

  • ru calling steve perry a tranny?

  • why yes...yes i am...nah i was jk...you know...haha...hohoho...lighten up gosh!

  • He's extremely difficult to recognize. (sarcasm intended) ;)

Anyway, I liked that, first off, I like that song from Journey. Second, I like how they used their voices at different tones to produce vocal music while singing. =]

  • Very entertaining!! Thanks for sharing this!!

  • Touché...hehe....

  • Great performance! I was a bit confused by the music director's conducting, though...her movements seemed to be quite different from the actual tempo the group was following...

  • Awesome song! Chorallaries are the best!

  • Hawt!
