As a race our physiology is not suited for basketball we can be pasionate about but not necesarily productive.If we imbrace fotball like we did in th past therll be more pinoy playing and for sure will have greter chance of suces thn in baketball,we have the right econmical cndtion,like brasil,argentina to breed fotball players.

We never even had a slam dunk contest here because we can't even dunk a ball. So I'd rather chose to kick footballs in mid-air like pro football players than attempting to make a useless slam dunk.

Astig, I didn't know about Senor Alcantara and his record at Barcelona.
I don't know if you guys know already, but they just established our own national league--LBC-UFL (United Football League). Really nice to read about Filipinos playing football well here and abroad. Hope the league will encourage our youth to follow their dreams, and possibly, hopefully get into the FIFA tournament. Soon!

So, since the country's not in Spanish occupation anymore, Cory decided to remove it. And some of the Spanish Culture is still with us. Food, some games, and clothes.

this is an inspirational video for me being a filipino living in the uk. whether paulino is full blooded or half blooded pinoy, it doesn't matter. what matters to me was football was played in the philippines during the spanish colonialisation and as filipinos we should be proud of this and cultivate the sport like the way we cultivated basketball and any other sports as a matter of fact.

The first AFC match was between Philippines and Japan. Philippines trashed Japan.
Now the J-League is flourishing and strongest league in Asia.
Filipino's who are naturally shorter, plays basketball as a national sport which requires height, you can't have a team of point guards.
The Spanish team and Argentinians have shown you don't need a lot of height to play good football.
Filipino's should really invest and promote football, we might be world contenders some day unlike basketball.

Well Paulino was born in the Philippines and loved the country enough to represent it in football and even table tennis at international level.
Why shouldn't Filipino's be proud of him. Even his record at FC Barcelona calls him the man from the Philippines.
After making good in Spain he migrated there and there's nothing wrong with that either.
Tiger Woods for example is half Thai but the Us mostly claims him big deal.

Well Catalonia is not affiliated with or recognized by FIFA or EUFA and it is arguable weather it can be called and official national side.
But Pualino did represent Catalonia in 1915 and Philippines in 1916.
If you read my statement properly I was talking about Tiger's mums citizenship, she may have Chinese blood but she is a Thai citizen.
Tiger never represented Thailand, but he does have family ties there.
I can say get YOUR facts straight, but were looking from different perspectives.
