@FlatHeadFletch how so? I have been using it for nearly 10 years and have caught fish over 60lbs and NEVER lost a fish due to this knot failing. There are several variations on the snell knot out there. This one is quick and easy to tie and holds well.
Definately helps with the hook up's. Especially when used with a circle hook. Keeps the hook aligned with the pull on the leader for maximun penetration.

thats exactly right! it pretty much makes the hook part of the line... no spining, or twisting
