Go to North Carolina. Any other place in the mountains will do.
You need to go out and do some traveling. Go by yourself. You will meet people on the road. I do it all of the time. It's really a lot of fun. Notch up that spirit of adventure!
I have a couple of friends who are interested in getting into riding, but they won't do so for a while. But yeah the mountains aren't too far from here, probably a couple hours west of me. I have never been over there. What better way to explore them other than on a motorcycle? Hopefully. I got to get motivated enough to just go!
We all need more friends that ride. It gives you someone to talk to about it, who understands what makes it so great and who you can ride with to keep it exciting. I'd also suggest venturing out. All my best memories of being on a motorcycle are when I am out having an adventure.
I do need to venture out. I need to grow some balls and just head out for the day at least, go places I haven't gone on my motorcycle. I haven't experienced a full adventure on a motorcycle yet, but I wouldn't doubt it would raise my love for motorcycling.
I'd wager that your excitement level will go up considerably when you head out for a few days riding in the mountains this summer. And an additional bonus fun part, for me anyway, is in the planning and anticipation of these trips. Start perusing the maps! :)
Yes, there is something wrong with you! You are a normal human being!
I would recommend you adventure out on occasion. VA has some nice mountain roads. There is cool stuff to see there. I've seen some of it. You will want to take pictures.
Cold will take the fun rite out of it, I never ever ride alone and riding with no destination is boring. But, ...................now that I vlog, I finds myself doing just that, riding alone and without a destination. there is def somethng wrong with me.
hahah you are wimpy. =] i've been riding all winter and i have no over pants. although i do get freeeeezing, i dont mind. but i HATE rain. never ever gonna ride in rain. it's retarded... and wet. i'm just below d.c. so i have similar weather to you. YOU SHOULD RIDE UP HERE!!!
What?! Rain is fun!...only in the warmer months though. If I ever do ride up to your direction, I'll let you know. I'd most likely be near the parkway if I do.
I've found meetup (fill in the suffix) on the web to be a great place to meet other local riders. Type specific forums have also yielded new friends for me.
ive had days where i wasnt feeling it either, you cant expect to be on all the time. what gets me excited is riding around and finding cool places/roads to ride and getting away from shit by being alone on the bike. whenever i rode to work i never liked it.. because i knew there was no adventure, there was no twisty road to be ridden.. it put me off. when the weather warms up, go find some good sweepers or some new road and just lean into it!
I hear there are some awesome sweepers by me, you just need to travel a little to get to them. Hopefully I'll venture out when it gets warmer. Im dying to find some awesome roads.
I get bored on occasion with solo riding too. Turn on some random roads, find a landmark in a different town and mapquest some backroads to get there. There is a lot of history around us. Last season, I stumbled across a newspaper article about Teddy Roosevelt makng a midnight ride out the Adirondacks to Buffalo to be sworn in when Presidnent McKinley was shot. The cottage and horse barn are still standing. Gave me a destination, history lesson and some good photos!
@Ghost6CBR This is exactly what I do as well. There's lots of history here in Kansas City and even more stuff within an hour or so from me... I've ridden to a civil war battlefield once! I never knew that kind of stuff was so close but if you just start watching for brown road signs and doing some searches on google... look up the historical society for your county as well, they usually have a website with lots of links to neat stuff to go see.
Simple answer TTG ...go touring. Get on the bike and ride...you have everything you could possibly wish for in the U.S. all you have to do is discovery it on the bike. Don't worry about doing it alone you will meet people on the way. The best thing about being on a motorcycle is the people you meet...just look at the youtube vloggers community.
I had the same feeling when my bike was for going to and from work. Something that always gets my heart pumping in the saddle is to go anywhere bikes hang out and then challenge the first bike you see. Dont get me wrong i lose every bloody time, but it does put the fun back into it! 5*
Know the feeling . I try to find the local bike meeting 's at pub's evan find them at mcdonald's . So this summer im going to travel a bit further out to some of the bike rally's . maybe some good opportunity's for vid's . Cold weather does put the damper on thing's for me though. Roll on summer.
maybe your not supposed to be motorcyclist? anyway the thing that really makes me want to get a bike is the thought of traveling. you know leaving early in the morning to go somewhere you have never been before and the butterflys in your stomach before you're about to go its so fun but maybe im that way because i grew up traveling
I am feeling the same way... maybe something is wrong with me as well. You definitely need another person to ride with... I have my brother and he pushes me out when I become a wuss. Your bike sounds awesome!
i know what you mean about riding by yourself. The town i live in I only know 2 other sportbike riders. Im sure there are more but i just havnt seen any in a while. and it is getting warmer it was above 70 for the third day in a row YAY
I know your pain, it is both the freezing legs and chilly neck keeping you down, plus riding the same lot over and over is dull.
You will need to spice it up by going on a roadtrip or two, make your first few trips a few hundred miles and the boredom leaves you. :). Maybe govto deals gap this year? :)
I think when the weather gets warmer youll feel different again. Also, a little tough toast love here, stop making all those excuses and just get on the freakin bike and take it somewhere! My seat, its the wrong time, etc etc. Dude, just ride to the freaking dragon like u wanted to and stop making excuses. Wrap some shirts around the seat or whatever you gotta do and just do it man. Ghetto yes but who cares as long as it makes it more comfortable. Dont mean 2 be harsh man but u gotta go 4 it!
Like i said man, i hope it didnt come across harsh cuz i didnt mean it 2 but u always procrastinate on things and i dont even mean u necassarily need 2 travel but at least take the bike places for fun. Also i meant ozarks not the dragon. Dunno why i said dragon. lol :)
I know how you feel man. If it is cold and you aren't comfortable, riding is not enjoyable at all, and if you are looking at the same old shit, thats no fun either. I think once the summer kicks in, you will venture out and have some good rides.
exact same feeling lol. sucks for new riders lol every time i see someone there always on the other side of the hwy lol. maybe ill take a trip to va. my girl keeps bugging me to take here there.
On my ride back today, I was in the lane to turn off the road when an older standard motorcycle drove by me and waved, I so badly wanted to keep on going and ride with him for a little while, but I didn't for some reason lol.
You live 30 mins from the beach. Need to carry your butt down there sometime. Most of the sport bike riders all hang out at the BP station on Atlantic. Go check out the scene some weekend.
Right...try riding around while living on an Island. It's a big island but there's only so many places one can go around here. I'm sick and tired of it. I can't wait to move to Arizona.
Replace that chain! I live somewhat near the country, haven't found any places that aren't really populated though. When I go out to ride its just that...riding around.

I have that same tankbag/backpack. Pretty handy.
Where are you located? If you're within....500 miles of me, I'd ride around with you on occasion.
DarkNinja75 2 years ago
I live in eastern Virginia lol.
But the tankbag/backpack is wonderful! I sometimes use it for school, but I mainly use it as a tank bag. Very handy bag, indeed!

i would say go to a bike shop and try to find friends there... or find a nice curvy road where you can cut loose and just haing the curves
