I was there '77-82 also and I remember Ms.Feran fondly. Sadly, she was the only thing that I liked about Irish class, a genuinely cool person. I had a good time there as the lads were generally sound and the Staff were fair. I was probably what we now call a disruptive pupil, always gabbing to my neighbours around me but I lived for the 11 and 1 o' clock football matches plus P.E. lessons. Happy Days.
Lets not forget Mr Seagrave, avuncular Maxie (McMahon science), mad but stimulating Fr Casey, the terrifying Fr Archbold (Archie w imagind hand-washing of soap gestures) , tmaths teacher Fr Ned Barrett who I always remember as a greyhound lover, the always warm, impossibly patient Mrs Feran, Mr Garvey too, who would collude with us indelaying the learning element in Latin classes by discussing the English football results ad infinitum. So I did learn some Latin. Hail to them.
Was there 1981-86. Teachers I remember: Feran, Dempsey, Gleeson, Byrne, Corbet, McMahon, McDonnell, McVeigh, Haughey, Casey, McGuinness, Garvey, Logan. Had a ball going to school there.
I was in Belcamp from 76-78...... cannot say that i enjoyed it but i did have some great crack. I remember the Disco, singing in the church choir , and having a smoke down by the lake making sure nobody got caught. Miss Mannion and her super miniskirt (maths teacher) .
Thanks for the memories . I was there from 1971 to 1976 , and as a boarder I have very mixed emotions about the school. But it is a shame to see a fabulous faciltiy run to ruin. Well done Gerry with the video too .
just had atrip down memory lane.i was there from 77 to 80.the place has some good and bad memories.like when a friend of ours martin collapsed and died on the football pitch on the way back from campions shop.there was some priests who were very angry old men like archibald and houlihan, they took there frustrations out on the kids.others like fr mulligan and fr casey were tough but fair.its a shame there knocking it down.
Martin Fogarty was in primary school with me at Scoil Fhursa in Kilmore West. I remember the day he died. He'd just run past me and a few others...minutes later we were called onto the pitches from the woods. We thought there was a fight because of the crowd that had gathered. Very sad. Also very sad to see such a great school in such a state. I have very happy memories from my days there '77-82. Mr Trimble/Dempsey/Regan/Gleeson, Miss Fern etc
Nice Photos ..I was there on the very last day in June after last Leaving Cert examinations were completed. Future is not certain now as the recession bites and Belcamp COULD end up back in state ownership courtesy of NAMA. Belcamp Hall the old center building has seen many changes since the 1760's and the immediate challenge is to keep the building safe from the mindless vandals that are already smashing windows and kicking in doors, etc. Fire is a major threat. I was there from 1970 to 1975.
Went there from 92-98. Seeing the assembly hall and around the interior after so long brings back a ton of memories.

Thanks for this video. I'd not seen Belcamp before. My late dear father Michael Patrick Winston (RIP 1991) was a pupil there in 1929.
