  • This is my favorite stretch of highway in America. First time I drove it was at night and it felt like the most solitary place on the planet. Had the windows down and that sulfur smell was oddly intoxicating. Beautiful part of the country.

  • Really great video! Wow! West Texas is really wide open! How fast is this sped up by like 12x?

  • @InterstateKyle somewhere up there.

  • The weather was Sunny and Beautiful both times. Spring is most beautiful across Texas. Especially early April just before the Tornado period.

  • I love this stretch. Last went through this way in 1978 from NM to LA before the Interstate was completed. The first time was through the I-10/I-20 south suburb FT Worth-Dallas route in Spring 1976 from NM to LA.

  • This is a great video...thank you so much!!! :)

  • 3:34 Is that an exit to I-10 East from 10 West? Video moving to fast for me to tell

  • @madbengalsfan85 that's the Exit for I-20

  • Ahhh..now this is my neck of the woods. I have traveled this same journey many many times...very nice, but then it gets a little boring after Junction Texas. I love our speed limits in Texas, have you heard of the possible increase?

  • I love my west Texas home! I don't live in El Paso. Alot of my family does. I love it except right now. In a drought and sooooo many fires!! Praying for all the families

  • how do you mount your camera? How many miles did you cover? How fast is the video speed up ?

what's with all that construction ?

  • The intersection of I-10 and I-20 is where the desert mountains begin separating the flat and wet lands of Texas

  • Wow, I never knew that W. TX. could be so incredible! Look at all the mesa hills even in the foreground and backround! Amazing! Boring or not i still love love love this video!

  • Thank you for the video. I travelled only little part of I10 last year.

    Great view.

More video is looking forward from you.

  • The speed Limit might be 80MPH.....reality 120MPH

  • @gopconservative78 lol you are not joking there.. i wont lie either i pushed 120 in a few areas.

  • 6:33, is where I flipped the bird, they deserve it! what? a man can't go on a road trip without being harassed? I too am a road enthusiast by the way.

  • 6:33 actually, is the checkpoint

  • the only thing I like about this is the sky high 80 mile per hour daytime speed limit. (it's still 65 at night in Texas folks)

  • 6:37, going in the opposite direction is the checkpoint, I will always loathe and detest it, I got detained for 35 minutes on Labor day weekend there. All I did was take out my driver license to display it to the agent and another agent freaked out on me and 7-8 agents searched me. 1 frisked me. When I came back to El Paso from San Antonio, I took out my middle finger on westbound I-10 while going 80 mph in my rental car.

  • This is an incredible eye-opener for non-Texans who think of west Texas as boring. (Granted, 7 minutes of video isn't the same as 500+ miles of driving it...) I was kind of surprised not to see more activity at the 10/20 junction, being the only Interstate crossing in a huge area. Then again, that probably *is* lots of activity for the region.

  • @mark99k west texas is far from boring on the first excursion .. its the beginning to the sw united states .. however once you have seen some of americas most bautiful scenery .. its rather boring .. the route is in the middle of nowhere for over 500 miles . traffic drops way low . speed limit is 80 . thx for watching

  • Dude.

    I love your videos.

I have to watch them repeatedly; they're just too good, man.

I hate that I don't have a car and am such a busy college student. My love for the open road has been dying due to it, but these videos make me want to get out there. Even though I cannot. D: Thanks for doing these.

  • West Texas is so beautiful to drive through, but it's such an endurance challenge. If traveling to California from Beaumont, getting through Texas alone is half the trip. After seeing this, though, I'm just itching to get back on the road and head out there again.

  • So that's what its like to drive a freeway w/ an 80 speed limit. Nice, we need in AZ like NOW!

  • Great ride! It was as if I was actually there with the sun scorching like hell (lol). Hope to travel this area of I-10 at some part in my lifetime (lol). Again great job Screw.

  • excellent ride! I've been wanting to get out to west texas/big bend area for a few years now... this makes me even more anxious!

  • I, too, was struck by the both the greenery and hilly nature of I-10 thru West Texas. Some of those cuts through the rocks are spectacular. One of my favorite stretches of rural freeway in the country. Thanks for putting this up; I'll be watching this one again sometime soon.

  • Very impressive video :). Texas does have some beautiful scenery once you get away from the flat plains.

  • Great vid!! ... Awesome (Tejas) - Master!! ... Thanks for the ride....

  • wht is the name of the music?

Nice shots, exact in place where hills are cut to put road straight...

  • @VPovver dash berlin - waiting , thanks

  • Gotta love a legal 80 mph speed limit.

  • Drove this last summer and encountered a couple of dust storms through there. I wasn't expecting those haha. It is definitely some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen while driving, personally. Guess I'm too accustomed to Appalachian mountains and trees? haha Great video!

  • @CosmoPhotography thanks , yes it is amazing for the first drive , but after you got your views from about 1500 miles in california , its kinda dull . and i tell you what el paso to houston in 14 hrs really took its toll on my head , anyways i hope you had a good time in cali , and im sure you think the same as i do now , my opinion of california now is ghod like . i wish you had more time than you did to take a few drives north including the siskiyou sumit , and the tejon and grapevine,

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 the last few secs of the video you can see a few sand storms , i was fighting winds the whole trip , i would estimate 30-40 mph at its high

  • Whew, that was fast! I thought I-10 in West TX was flat desert. Have you tried driving 90-100 MPH in that area?

  • @FreewayAndrew people drive that and above in that area , its nothing to hit 100+ mph and sometimes not even realize it .

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Does Texas have a law that requires the driver to stay in the right lane unless the driver is passing a slower vehicle? Is there any speed enforcement by the Texas authorities on this Interstate highway and other Interstate highways in Texas? This is highway, in my opinion, where there should be no speed limit. It is beautiful highway and seem to well maintained? It is not boring and I find all parts of the US to a great amount of natural beauty.

  • @michael112254 there is no law that says ' drivers keep right ' in texas . i have heard that 2 or 3 states in the U.S have such law. in texas it is not exactly safe to drive in the left lanes due to our frontage road system because of its heavy traffic entering the freeway.. it is however a driver courtesey to drive in the left lane agree, but the right lane is there for a reason to, and if you are at the speed limit there is no problem with it becasue people should not be passing anyways

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 We have had the "pass left and drive right law" in Pennsylvania for about ten years. It was passed as an anti-road rage measure. They did not want drivers hogging the passing lane and forcing faster drivers into unsafe maneuvers of passing on the right. It has had mixed compliance and it is only enforced sporadically. It is the law in most European countries and they have very good compliance. This makes for a more pleasant driving experience by allowing faster cars to pass.

  • @michael112254 in texas , the speed limit is highly enforced on every highway , but cops are not exactly cruel and picky to the people that are 5 over per say , but they will pull you and issue a traffic citation over more than 10 in a heart beat. the legal speed limit here is more than 400 miles of 80 mph, it is enforced by the texas highway patrol and nearby citiy police. they have traffic stings on this stretch often because people think they can drive 120+ and get away with it.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 In Pennsylvania the State Police give you a "cushion" of at-least 10 mph if not more in most cases. Most of the time they reasonable and are not that visible because they are required to perform other law enforcement activities. City police are not allowed to set up speed traps on Interstate highways or operate radar. This law is in place to prevent revenue generation and other abuses. The local police are allowed to use Vascar on local streets and roads.

  • @michael112254 it is not un-common to see about 75 percent or more of the drivers push over 100 mph in this stretch . andother section of interstate that ive seen this is i-8 in arizona and california.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Do you feel that these stretches of Interstate highways should have a "suggested" speed limit and let the driver proceed at a higher speed like the German autobahn. These highways have excellent engineering and carry far less traffic. Germany is a country with a high density in population. Let the law reflect the actual speed of the traffic and let the police do something that actually benefits the citizens. Also, our death rate on our highways is the lowest since 1949.

  • @michael112254 i dont not feel that a urban speed limit should be any higher than 65 also i do not think we should have a rural speed limit higher that 80 with certain exceptions of stretches like i-10 is west texas and i-8 in arizona. you just simply cant have a higher speed limit than 60 or 65 in a metro area. there is to much traffic for that.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 I agree that urban speed limit should be at 65mph. Here in the Pittsburgh area we have an urban limit that is at 55mph. I can tell you that, traffic permitting, the flow of traffic is at outside of rush hours is at 65 to 70 mph. I believe that most of the Interstates out west should be under a "reasonable and proper" limit like Montana had until the law was challenged in the courts. Germany has a "recommended" speed limit of 130 kph or 82 mph.

  • @michael112254 i also believe certain stretches of interstate with less than 2 turns in 1 mile should be granted 70 mph day and 65 night nationwide . more than 5 turns in a mile with a limit of max 65 day and 60 night.

  • Good video, on the map it looks like a long dreadful ride but the video says otherwise, nice!

  • @Freewayjim Junction as you see first , its the first area where the texas hill country meets the mountain region , the 2nd area is near sonora, tx deep in the mountain area in west texas , its more amazing to see from the east to west view than this direction , the 3rd section is the big bend area , very impressive . last but not least i know i enjoyed it the first time , i hope you did also , also did ya catch that interchange navigation i-10 @i-20 lol , never thought i see that , lol

  • Kick-ass footage...great soundtrack!

  • @damonhynes Thanks Damon , glad you liked the video
