Vidal's a laughable crank. "Truthful"? He's a failed politician and a writer of alternative history. A good interview, though, I'll give him that.

I disagree, he was an amateur politician, and a writer of extreme skill, though his essays are in my opnion better than his novels.

America's 'greatest intellect', yet where is he on youtube? A mere handful of links! Shouldn't we be somewhat ashamed of the paucity of 'Vidality'?
Millions will weep when Mr Vidal is no longer with us. Isn't that always the fate of the truthful - it's only after they are gone that we realise their value?
Please upload more videos of Mr Gore Vidal and make youtube a little more of a thoughtful place.

Vidal is strongly critical of the George Bush administration, as he has been of previous U.S. administrations he considers to have either an explicit or implicit expansionist agenda. He frequently has made the point in interviews, essays, and in a recent book that Americans "are now governed by a junta of Oil-Pentagon men...both Bushes, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and so on." THE SKY IS FALLING ON THE FREE MARKET. pity the google, yahoo, and soon to be youtube BILLIONAIRES! lol
