  • Thank you for this video. My grandparents' basement was ruined and my grandmother fell outside and passed away a few days later. I will always remember this devestating event.

  • to all those who have lost their homes or loved ones (including pets) i pray that you get the help that you need

  • I was in the hospital giving birth to my daughter. They made us sit in the hallway for hours it seemed like.

  • lived out at Riley on Eldrige DR. lost everything walked out at 6:10 a.m lost one cat almost one dog. lost the house. was up to our necks and the only reason we're still in terre haute is because we still have family here.

  • That flood definitely sucked. But that's what happens when you change the natural layout of earth and not being prepared. At least most of the families have recovered.

  • i live there, that was crazy

  • I remember that flood. 2 dats b4 my birthday. I Remember that WTHI Was On Like ALL DAY!!! Can Someone say over time for them?? lol but that was a sad, freaky day

  • whats the name of the song? awesome vid!!!!!!!

  • I had to work in it! I worked at a dealership and spent that Saturday on service calls, sometimes up to my waist in water telling idiots, "No, your truck/car will not start in this water" Some people...

  • How it hasn't flooded this year again is beyond me..

  • 3:18 is where I used to buy cigarettes. Sure glad I quit :-)

  • my house didnt get flooded

  • I live in the new apartments by Margret and we got lucky and didn't get any of the flooding but we did have friends who lost EVERYTHING in the flood so we opened our door to them and i wish i could say that our town was ready for this but with all honesty we weren't because we're still to this day trying to help those who lost everything in the flood. To this day one of my close friends and her 2 kids are living without anything due to the flood.

  • I used to live on Dawn Drive (very near to where this is being filmed). I heard the apartment I lived in got flooded out. I don't mind because he stole my deposit. Serves him right!

  • Nice video...Where i live we didnt get any flooding but i kno people who did...But i think our city pulled through and worked well at this time of emergency... Keep your head up!!

  • I lived in International Village, on the bottom apartment, and we lost alot. It took a while to move on. Thank god it wasn't during school time. This video is beautiful, 10 stars.

  • WOW! What a wonderful video. I lived at International Village Apartments and lost a lot of stuff...a lot of memories...pictures, things that can never be replaced. The song is beautiful and I cried the whole time this played. Well Done! God Bless!

  • My parents live at 12th and Springhill. I came down from Indy to help them clean up. It is such a sinking feeling to see pictures of all the familiar places in my old neighborhood covered in water. This is by far the best vid on YouTube depicting the Terre Haute flood. Thanks for posting this. What's the song you used?

  • Nice video. I made a short video at Mill Dam & FairBanks Park. Even Rose Hulman got flooded.

  • Godd video, that is me my brother and my mom walking down 7th to get meds out of my grandparents house. This realluts the damage into perspective for people who did not see it. Thank you.

  • ya i live in west terre haute i we could barley get out of our front because of all the rain water in the way. scary s***

  • You did a great job on this slideshow, it's a beautiful tribute to the flood victims! Oh, and the song is perfect.

  • I lived (notice past tense) in Greenbriar Apts. and we had 2.5 feet in my apt. at one point and in the closet close to 3 to 3.5. We are not going back even though this was a once in a lifetime event, once was enough for me. We are moving north enough to be away from low ground. I feel sorry for anyone who went through this and are going back to the place that flooded, it is bad.

  • I lived in West Terre Haute my whole life and now live on S. 8th st just south of Voorhees. We are glad the Thompson's Ditch held what it did.

  • yup i live in west terre haute so this sucks my basement is flooded good video tho

  • Sorry to hear about your basement, hope you get it dried out real soon.

  • Great pictures! Were you in a boat?!!

  • Thank you summer5115 for the kind words.
