Be preperd isn't very good in heberw, But this song is the best disney song in heberw!, mybe non-hebrew speakers will dissagree but this song is so catchy and awsome in hebrew, not like the english version when they blew it with the syllables.
i love the hebrew lion king. i think even more than english which i watched it daily in as a child. i can understand momst of it. i can't wait to go to israel again...
well i think that people that know English is harder to learn Hebrew than Hebrew knowing people learning English because Hebrew is complacent Language and English is well ... less and yes the movies are righten in high Hebrew and Arabic is complacs because it have two king of Language righten one and spoken one wich is hard to know
It's funny how they used such a nice, and somewhat old-fashioned Hebrew, and how they had to twist the structure of sentences to make it all rhyme..
for instace the finishing line (and title) is "mishtage'a kvar melech lihiyot" which, if we translate it word to word, means "going-crazy-already-a-king-to-be". it can still count as a proper sentence in Hebrew, but no one would speak like that on the street..
I once got caught singing along to this in english. I was aksed if I knew Hebrew, and I said No, I just watched the Engflish version so many times, I've meorizd the song.
SCMMDC- hebrew is very beauiful lol even tho im not jewish well partly but the language itself is very uniue and its every calming tone and medoly idk what other think of it but this is how i view it:)
Hmm I'm German and I learn Hebrew for about 2 months now, I think the grammar is quite easy but you've got to think completely different. It has almost nothing in common with our west and middle European languages. I guess the only really hard thing is the alphabet ;D
I don't reckon Hebrew is necessarily "10 times harder than English". the thing is, though, that English (like most of the first world's languages) is an Indo-European language, from the Germanic\latin languages family. Hebrew isn't it's far more ancient in origins and has a totally different structure and grammar. that doesn't mean it's harder, simply different

BluesAndJam - I agree and disagree; I speak fluent Arabic and didn't find it very hard at all, many words are close in sound, tenses and male/female are the same (in when conjugating) and the only real issue is to learn the new 'structures'. Least we forget, there's also the political issue and the need- Israelis do not need arabic to get along in life, unlike English.
Correct with reservation. I speak fluent English, French and Spanish (having learned french at school). Relatively, i think that your ability to grasp a language and master it is determined by your environment and your daily exposure to it. Having seldom visited regions with large arabic population, i don't speak arabic for the mere fact that i simply have no conversational partners. For that reason it would be hard for me, personally, to learn arabic to the point of fluent conversation.
@SidJC actually i learn hebrew in school and hebrew is fairly easy to learn. probably a lot easier than english. theres a lot of root words that make it easier to learn vocabulary. the only hard thing i would say is learning masculine in feminine

noygam 2 years ago 2
Absolutely, hebrew is an extremely difficult language (like 10 times more than english probably).
Plus we use all sorts of incomprehensible slang words. However it's the only language in which you can read the bible in its original text (:
BluesAndJam 2 years ago 5
I don't reckon Hebrew is necessarily "10 times harder than English". the thing is, though, that English (like most of the first world's languages) is an Indo-European language, from the Germanic\latin languages family. yonataneshel 2 years ago
absolutely, however there is a light difference. Hebrew belongs to the semitic language family, sibiling of Arabic and somewhat Farsi.
For native hebrew speakers, it's extremely hard to learn Arabic, and we usually never get past conversational level or high school studies.
Moreover, we prefer to learn a language such as French or Spanish, deriving from a different family because of its relatively "easy" structure.
BluesAndJam 2 years ago
BluesAndJam - I agree and disagree; I speak fluent Arabic and didn't find it very hard at all, many words are close in sound, tenses and male/female are the same (in when conjugating) and the only real issue is to learn the new 'structures'. Least we forget, there's also the political issue and the need- Israelis do not need arabic to get along in life, unlike English.
