The problem for daniels was the same as for other entertainers of the 70`s/80`s eg. mike yarwood when compared to todays alistair mcgowan and how could daniels compete with derren brown today. People we thought were good then were actually pretty bad when you look back.If you think I`m wrong then why aren`t the likes of daniels on tv anymore?. Paul Daniels is a MASTER magician and TOPNOTCH entertainer. When Debbi answers the question abou him needing goals, HA! what to you expect if you have ever seen any of his magic shows from the eighties and nineties then you would know that HE is the BENCHMARK for the rest to hope to reach. It's really good to see that he is still the laid back magician who is obviously still in love and by the looks of it, visa versa.

i kinda hate this. Paul Daniels makes himself look such a moronic, ignorant old twat, but he's not like any of the others louis did on this series.

He was fantastically talented, internationally recognised for doing something very difficuly, and despite come across a bit of a bigoty type he was very open. He gave lots of international magicians that would not have any exposure here slots on his show and did lots of tributes to other great magicians.
