I am not Korean and don't even speak it but I could hear the heavy accent when Jin and Sun's father spoke Korean.

@patish1905 well, Sun's father does have a tiny bit of accent (not heavy at all) but Jin speaks Korean with no accent whatsoever. She actually played many important roles in several Korean movies and she was brilliant in all of them.- she has no problem in acting in Korean.

Jin dosn't speak Korean with an accent because Daniel Dae Kim was born in America and spoke English as a first language and Korean was his second language.

However he had never acted in Korean before and therefore needed coaching by Yunjin Kim on the different dialect accents.

Actually Daniel Dae Kim had to learn the local accents in order to become Jin. Yunjin Kim apparently became his tutor during the filming of season 1
