Metallica in its prime was fairly short lived, 82-92 (arguably later 90's as well) and probably will not be paralleled. but Megadeth and Dave more particularly, has lasted and i will say with 100% confidence that Dave kicks more ass live now than metallica has in nearly 10 years. Just saw Megadeth here in Phoenix, and Dave is just awesome :) WE LOVE YOU DAVE!

I'll tell you the truth about the matter: James's and Dave's egos wouldn't have survived another year together with the Metallica "creative process" for song construction. It's good that Dave made his own band, over which he expressed his own message to the world.
He thinks his shit backfired because he doesn't care about anything else. He misses his friends, his family, who he grew up with. Nothing else mattered to him. I wanna say I'm glad they fired him for the fact that megadeth music gets me fucking pumped up, and it's what moves me, but I won't because of what it did to Dave. Sorry buddy. :(

Metallica in its prime was fairly short lived, 82-92 (arguably later 90's as well) and probably will not be paralleled. but Megadeth and Dave more particularly, has lasted and i will say with 100% confidence that Dave kicks more ass live now than metallica has in nearly 10 years. Just saw Megadeth here in Phoenix, and Dave is just awesome :) WE LOVE YOU DAVE!

@0intelligence0 they are first wave of black metal along with hellhammer, bathory, and others. venom are a more brutal version of motorhead; a blend of metal and punk, which is what thrash metal is. that's what hellhammer and bathory were as well. before the 90s (the second wave of black metal starting in norway) black metal meant a lot of different things and black metal could be anything from mercyful fate to celtic frost.

Venom has more punk in its mixture than heavy metal bands, but less than thrash bands. Venom compared to Motorhead has a little darker vocals and satanic themes. Motorhead is even faster than Venom and has more technically complex instrumental work. That means Motorhead should also be considered thrash metal
