I do a lot of canning and freezing- saves on the grocery bills. Besides- there's nothing like opening a jar of canned tomatoes in the middle of winter to bring back the taste of summer.
Wow, that's a great looking and huge garden Maureen! Well, except for the corn maybe, LOL. My longstanding garden theory is that every season one crop will do way better than usual and another crop will do way worse than usual, and the rest will do as usual.
It is huge. And you're right Blink - every summer is different and some things do better in certain years than others. Growing corn here is difficult due to our cool soil and summers. But you can't blame a (former) midwestern girl from trying!
